[Q] [Active] Baseband Version - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I am running geohots root and did a one click oden because my ringers got screwed up when doing a restore with TBu. I was looking at my baseband version today after reading about the recent upgrade to the stock SG4 and noticed that I have the following listed : I537UCUAMF1. I checked out what AT&T says I should have (or at least the latest) is : Baseband Version: I537UCUAMF3
Doing a few searches of the forums I was not able to find anything that suggested this should be the case. What do you all have?

MF1 is the pre-release version MF3 is the current version. The one-click we have is for the prerelease and will not update OTA. As of now there are no known ways to get back to MF3.. but there is no discernible difference between MF1 and MF3.

Thank you for clarifying

Baseband UCUAMF3 Downgrade to UCUAMDL

Hi. I just got my S4 and it has teh OTA baseband UCUAMF3.
I was able to root and check root - ok.
Is there a way to change the baseband to UCUAMDL?
I tried loading the UCUAMDL thru Odin but failed.
Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.
I think I got my answer.

Yes you are doing something wrong...you aren't reading and learning about your device. It has been mentioned dozens of times already throughout several threads (that are very important) that you can not go back to a previous firmware once you allow an OTA. In other words, if you took the 4.3 update (MJ6 or MJ9) you CANNOT go back to 4.2.2 (MF3, AMDL, etc...) Search for information about q-fuses and read the "pinned" threads in the General and Q & A sections before you permanently brick your phone. Good luck.

[Q] Retun to Stock Firmware 4.0.4

Hi Chaps,
Hope you can help me, I recently bought a 2nd hand S3 GT-I9300 and im based in the UK however the phone is rooted and I want to return to stock so I can upgrade to JB the natural way.
My phone details are as follows:
AP: I9300xxBLFB
CP: I9300XXLFB
CSC:I9300OXFBLF1
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband Version:I9300XXLFB
Kernal Version: Kernel Version 3.0.15-554452-user [email protected] #1
I am not sure what network it was originally on but I think its sim free as my 3 sim works fine.
Could you point me to the correct Stock firmware to do this?
Thanks in advance
Read the rules on posting before starting new threads.
Questions go in the q&a forum, search before posting.
Basic guides and information are in the sticky threads, which will tell you how to safely return your phone to stock.
Don't leave your phone on the current firmware too long, it will kill the memory chip.
Sorry mate, I have now posted it in the Q&A forum.

[Q] Need help with Updates and Rom

I've moved this thread to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52874692&postcount=12328
so it can be deleted...
---------------------------
Hello,
In November 2013, I installed Sacs Custom Rom 4.3 for the S4 Sprint Model SPH-L720. Since then, I have been getting updates from Samsung every 2 weeks. When I install the update, the root always needs to be repaired. After installing the update, I always have to reinstall my backup account.
My questions are:
1)What is the latest version for this particular version of the rom?
2) Is it typical to get so many updates?
3) How would I fix root rather than repairing it each time I install an update?
4) How can I permanently have the backup account stay on the device?
Thanks very much for reading

Why you don't ask in the correct thread of the creator of this custom ROM if all your questions are referred to this one? :highfive:

Hello, I am having trouble returning my sg4 sprint back to stock unrooted form.
I have downloaded md5, tar, and exe files.
Using these types I have tried odin (few versions) and Mobile odin
I generally get a md5 checksum error.
I have tried different cables.
Cleared all caches
Battery pulls
Multiple formats.
In trying to do this one who is a novice can get very disoriented
If possible I need help:
Finding the most legit tools ie: Whatever Software file and means to get it working involving any tricks one may have missed.
Before I get slammed.
I used my own title and various others looking for a thread or post like mine.
I have been unable to find one therefore I made this.
I hope I provided enough info.
Please if available please respond.
Thank You Sincerely.

Update to MM from rooted 4.4? Cant find a guide anywhere =/

Here is what I am currently running
The phone is currently rooted.
GM-G900V
Android Version: 4.4.4
Baseband version: G900VVRU1ANI2
Kernal Version: 3.4.0
Build Number: OptimalROM R12-6
I want to upgrade to MM and install this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/rom-ressurrection-remix-mm-t3275340
I also want to upgrade my kernal.
When everything is said and done, I of course want to be rooted.
Now I cant seem to find answers anywhere. I love this site, but finding a helpful guide is painful. So many different version of threads. I found several threads where people were asking the same thing but there were no good answers. So I imagine this could help others too.
If someone could tell me exactly what I need to do to upgrade to MM and get this new ROM installed, I would be insanely grateful.

Hi skoad
You have a Verizon and, as so, you may first start by reading the below:
[GUIDE] Unlocking the Galaxys S5 Bootloader using DEV Bootloader [KK-MM]
As soon as you find yourself comfortable, you will need first update your Bootloader (mentioned above) and Modem partitions. To do so you should flash a Sammobile firmware using Odin.
These are the firmwares available for you but only the first one is Marshmallow and your aim.
You may follow these general instructions obviously regarding your device data.
The Kernel update will be done by the ROM you are focusing to install and it will be rooted already.
Let us know how it performed with Stock.
Cheers.
.
Thanks a ton. I am pretty busy this weekend but will be giving this a shot Monday and will report back. What youve provided seems very helpful and straightforward, just what I was hoping for!
