Hello Friends,
I use a Nexus 4, I have been wanting to use Mobilego for android on my Mac to sync music just like I would do with iTunes on my iPod. But the problem is that Mobilego just wouldn't recognise my Nexus 4 all it does when I connect my phone to the mac is sit idle doing nothing. I tired to connect my friends Galaxy Grand and it instantly recognises it but fails to recognise my Nexus 4.
If anyone could help me out with the problem it would be great, or if there's any other app like Mobilego for mac it would be wonderful.
P.S. currently I am using androidfiletransfer for mac and not all that happy with the way I put music to my device.

Hi all,
After binning my totally bricked Galaxy Tab P1000 after trying to update to ICS I am today the proud owner of a Nexus7
I have vowed not to root it or do anything other than update when offered.
However I know I am not very good with computers but I cant connect the Nexus to my laptop that is running on Ubuntu.
I do not have any windows enabled computers so is there an easy way round [must be easy for me!] in connecting via usb. would like some documents and photos transferring onto the new device
One other problem : how do I stop the clicks when I type? I have unticked what I thought in the sound options?

Hey, I am having a problem viewing my files on my Windows 7 PC. The Nexus 4 shows up in (devices and printers) as a Nexus 4, but it doesn't show up in my folder explore. I have my phone set to MTP. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Android ADB Interface hoping it would fix the problem but it didn't. The funny thing is that I also received a replacement for my Nexus 10 and it's also having the same problem, but if I plug my old Nexus 10 in it works just fine. All devices work on my other computer, so it shouldn't be a hardware issue. Thanks in advance for your help.

If your Nexus 4 works fine on your "other computer", then the issue is with the computer (by process of elimination).
While connected, check device manager for unknown device or Nexus 4 (under Portable Devices), right click and remove it, disconnect phone and reboot.
Then try connecting your phone and you should get "found new hardware" and hopefully Windows will fix the driver.
I am having the exact same problem. Except sometimes it works and sometimes out of the blue it does not. If it does not I have to restart computer and hope that once booted up it will show. I also have that the folders show up, then if I unplug and plug back in later, it will no longer show the folders. No idea what gives
Windows 7 doesn't always play nice with MTP devices. I've had nothing but problems with my Galaxy Tab 7+ and some minor issues with the Nexus 4, they like to disconnect whenever they feel like it.
Hey so i have this problem...I switch on my Bluetooth, make it visible, pair it with my laptop, it is successfully paired and i Can see nexus 4 device connected on my laptop....BUT when i try to open the storage from the computer it doesn't do anything...I cant send files!
Is there a way to fix this??

Use a USB cable or send files over WiFi using "Air droid" app.

That's like saying "take the train" to someone that has car trouble and can't get to work--not very helpful. What if they need to use bluetooth due to lack of USB cable or a wifi-capable computer? I know it's not probable, but the bluetooth capability is there and should be able to be used if desired, even if it's not the fastest data-transfer method.
I too, have the same problem, though just two days ago I was able to send files.
Can't help you much as I got Windows 8 and Ubuntu.
But I had this kind of problems often on Windows 8, I had to unpair (from device and phone) then pair them again, each time I had to switch from Linux to Windows.
Anyway, to send files by Bluetooth from windows, try this:
Right-Click on the file
Then Send to
And choose Bluetooth Device
I never opened the storage card of my nexus from bluetooth on my PC, I think the connection is not very stable.
Hello
I have a Nexus 4 Kit Kat 4.4.2 and a Nexus 7 Kit Kat 4.4.2. I also have a Microsoft Windows 7 Desktop computer.
In the past I was able to connect my Nexus 4 phone and Nexus 7 to my Desktop computer with no issues and swap files to the Desktop. These files were usually music MP3 files. However I was able to swap what ever I wanted over.
Today when I connected my Nexus 4 to my Desktop I kept getting error messages every second saying installing drivers or pop up screens asking what to do such as open file. Occasionally I would see Nexus 4 as portable storage but it would vanish within a second. I would also get notification noises every couple of seconds as well.
As far as I am aware I have:
USB debugging ticked
USB computer connection Media device (MTP) ticked
This is all very confusing and frustrating.
As far as I can tell my Desktop, Windows 7 is up to date and that my computer tells me that I have the correct drivers for the Nexus 4.
I have just connected my Nexus 7 to my Desktop and got the error message unknown device. Up till today, I never had a problem with my Nexus 7, but its been a couple of months since I connected them to my Desktop computer.
Any help would be much appreciated.
As an edit
I connected a Gingerbread phone and that would NOT connect to my Desktop
However I connected an ASUS TF300T Jelly Bean 4.2.1 and that connected first time with no problems
I would try re-installing the drivers. Google 15 second adb drivers xda

Hello
I have tried to install new drivers from this site and ASUS's own site but I can not.
Windows 7 keeps telling me that I have the most up to date drivers.
Very confusing
Habe you tried out all your USB ports? Sometimes it refuses to on some ports.

Connect your device. Open device manger, find device. Right click, properties, driver, uninstall driver (tick checkbox to also uninstall driver software) reinstall driver.
I have errors like that often on PCs, but mostly Apple Computers when running Parallels/Bootcamp. Installing an reinstalling can work, but also switching between the MTP and camera may help temporarily solve the issue
Get usbdeview and get rid of of all Nexus-like entries, then restart and reconnect, see if that helps. Also did you switch from mtp to camera and back? It did help for me in the past in similar situation.

Hi All,
I don't actually have a Samsung Galaxy S4 but I have a friend that does, I have a HTC DNA. He posed me with a good question. Is there anyway to have a Windows 7+ computer recognize when you have your phone connected to the same wireless network so it will launch an Application or do a task such as play a song on the windows machine? I assume it would be the same for any Android Phone. He isn't against installing a program on his computer and an App on his phone. The only thing like this that I could see was a wake on LAN App that turned on the computer, but what if the computer was already on and you just wanted it to run a task? Does that make sense? Let me know if you have any additional questions.
This isn't really S4 specific but Bluetooth would be the better way to go.
