[Q] 180 degree rotation - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I really need this option for when I am using my phone as a satnav. I have tried all the suggested solutions but haven't found one that works other than using CM10.2 or one of its variants, but I actually prefer running a GE rom. Has anyone found a way of having 180 degree and autorotation?
Thanks

Ok, for anyone interested, I have found the solution.
lnstall Xposed framework and then install Wanams Xposed mod and you can enable 180 degree rotation from there.
Perfect.

Good , u use 180 just for nav?

The mod appears to work for everything. I need it because when I am using my phone as a satnav its upside down so I can access the usb port.

Wannam xposed or even nottached is good.....if you want the rotation only on specific apps....you can play around with an xposed module called app settings....where per app dpi can be achieved as well as rotation features and others...good luck

The write up is on pocketnow.
http://pocketnow.com/android/google-maps-5-for-android-with-3d-vectoring-now-available
Can someone post .apk, please? Google updates not available in Market in some countries.

Thanks so much for the .apk! Cheers man!
The 3D feature doesn't work for me on JDMS 1.6.2 build unfortunately.
Anyone get that to work? on which android build?
edit: Nevermind it works, my area was just too flat?!!
i couldn't make it work on my phone (see config below) either
Anyone get the map rotation to work using gestures? Only way I can make the map rotate is by using compass mode, but that requires me to be at the location I want to rotate the map around.
couldnt find the .apk file anywhere? neither in the market is the app??? where can i grab that??

Placing two fingers on the screen and moving them laterally in opposing directions worked for me.

which android build do you have? as others said i can't do that :\
thanx man you are best
Mine works great on the EVO Black & Blue Remix ROM, but London 3D has not been enabled yet
You make it 3D by putting two fingers on the screen and dragging down and I can make it rotate by putting my index finger and my thumb on the screen and rotating them in a circle. As dumb as this sounds, you really do have to practice a bit to get it to work. I'm using
EVO Carbon Remix V0.5 by motoman234
Thanks for the link.
1. Gestures work fine
2. I don't see any 3d landscape though
Are there any settings where you can activate 3D buildings and compass mode?
Update: Map stays stationary and only the blue arrow rotates.
Update 2: 3D buildings work only in some major cities around the world (i have found Chicago, Berlin untill now) and only if your zoom is at 100m/200ft and you must have all layers (terrain - sattelite) turn off.
Samsung Galaxy S - Froyo
I cant spin motion the map! I tried every means possible
I think the map rotate is limited to roms that are designed for phones that support distinct multitouch. I am using the hd2one which is built for the nexus one which doesn't have distinct multitouch... does anyone know how we can trick Google maps into performing the rotate function without flashing a different rom?

You can use this file, copy it to your hd2one/root/system/etc/permissions then reboot. I copied it from the desire_hd2 build and it works.

xposed modules

what xposed modules are safe and will not cause the device to go in to loop.
im new to anroid and rooting and dont want to put my device in a loop.
any safe modules?
G3 Tweaksbox is safe, never had a problem with it. Offers alot of features too.
I'm also using the Greenify module, no issues.
Running Xposed Torch, replaced the volume up shortcut to a torch instead of QuickMemo. Also safe, no issues.

It would vary for everyone, since we all have different apps.
Pretty much I greenify any app that I don't rely on the notifications. For example I use Facebook messenger alot so I don't greenify that. However I don't need to see Facebook notifications as soon as they come so I greenify FB
I also just greenified any system app that I thought would be safe, and took the same approach as with regular apps. Greenified apps like maps, google search, chrome, hangouts and pretty much all the G3 apps including update centre and app updates.

Just installed "Mobile Disconnect" and not a single ad yet this should improve battery life and mobile data too

Hello !
nfclockscreeof enabler - works with your phone ? Me it doesn't work (D855 v10h).
Xposed just causes my phone to randomly reboot.
Has anyone noticed any performance issues or lag when using xposed?

For me it worked, at least I really thought it did, with the previous T-Mobile 10c rom. Since updating, or before if I'm just remembering wrong, it has not worked. I only tested the "screen on and locked" not screen off, and I really thought it worked at least once from the lockscreen.

For those who suffer reboots using xposed I found that both xutilities and xblast modules caused mine, after removing these the phone worked normally. Hope this helps.

Xposed shouldn't cause any performance issues, but it's possible some modules might.

[Q] How to run applications in tablet mode?

Phone: Galaxy Note 4 910C Exynos
I've been trying to get Evernote and Gmail to run in tablet mode for a few days with no avail.
I've tried Xposed app settings tweaks and a few other tablet-mode xposed mods which at most crashed the system UI.
Does anyone know a working way to accomplish that on the Note 4?
I have the same question?
I'm trying to accomplish this on Firefox to force it in tablet mode. I have no problems on my Note3 to get it, but on Note4 it wont work. Did anyone get it to work and how?
Im on DR.Ketan ROM with multi DPI on note4 ... and on my note3 (which works great without any modifying) im using x-note ROM.

Use "App Settings" Xposed Module. You can change the DPI in a per app basis and force tablet ui mode too (touch "resolution" and apply the biggest one).

Yes, thats what i thought too but it didnt work on the note4 ... the largest resolution is 1000x1800 and it wont start in tablet mode, no matter what DPI i set.

Hi,
there is an app that I've used for it on my n910f.
UI Tuner (aka Window Manager) on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bassel.uituner
It works like App settings. Go to menu in UI Tuner and select per app settings. From there you can choose the app you want to run tablet mode. Just type an lower density value and higher screen size. You can google for some tablet values.
More information you can find here on xda. Search for window manager.
It didn't work for me. Looks like there is no way to run firefox in tablet mode on note4 ...

Sorry mate. For other apps it worked for me. But Firefox app seems get some device information (assume from build.prop) to recognize which mode it should start, so it is no matter what dpi or screen size you have.

Probably In Xposed AppSettings it changes the DPI like it should, but firefox just doesnt recognize it. I cant get behind the logic of that, because on the Note3 the same version works excellent in tablet UI. Looks like i have to switch completely to the RAM eater chrome.
Ill ask it in the ROM section, maybe its something ROM related or the dev could help me out.

I found that setting the global DPI on my G4 with textdroider changed Firefox into tablet mode at a certain point (450 worked, with my device default being 640), but it doesn't work with App Settings.
My suggestion is to change your entire DPI to some smaller number with textdroider and adjust apps to a larger size as needed. Kinda annoying, but should do the trick.

LCD Density & Camera App

Hey all,
I just recently changed the LCD density of my note 4 to 500.
All of the apps seem to work flawlessly apart from the camera app. For some reason when in full screen it doesn't stretch to fit the screen but end up with black bars around two edges. It seems like a scaling issue. Is there a way to fix this?
Cheers,
kipp
I hope you are in 5.0.1 , If so you can flash this wwwandroidfilehostcom/?fid=95916177934555233 to get the dialer and the touchwiz camera to work flawlessly . The improper scaling happens because the lazy samsung devs not only deliver buggy slow ass Touchwiz as well as non Multi DPI compatible apps .
Thanks Aukhan for the flasahble zips

Do you try xposed module "app settings"? You can change DPI per app
I dont think Xposed works for Touchwiz 5.1.1 and If so i highly doubt App settings module's compatibility

Yup it works nicely. Using it to turn the screen off ?
Remember to disable power management policies on the app

It has almost no impact on battery. Very well optimized app.
The newest Gravity Box update also includes fingerprint launcher functionality now for everyone who wants to have more possible options to choose from.
