RAM - Galaxy S III General

I am sorry for opening a new thread but I was wondering how could you increase ram to about ~1780 I saw on some slim ROM that the ram was huge

Then it was a screen shot of a different device. eg:I9305. You cannot actually install more ram
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Indeed, RAM is physical and cannot be increased.
Please only post questions in Q&S not General. There is a sticky in this forum in ALL CAPS telling you not to post questions here!

This general forum is for i9305 and i9300. But questions shouldn't be posted here. OP could have an i9305

I shall shortly be selling an app that adds 5GB of ram as well as backing up EFS .
Problem is at the moment getting the theme right as they wont buy without themes .

The pictures that are posted there are not an i9300, they are from a different phone and the DEV just decided to not take many pics for the same ROM.
The only thing you can do to increase RAM is to install a very slim ROM. This isnt actually increasing RAM tho, just not using as much and leaving more available.
If you want more RAM then you will need to get a new phone.

Correct, Just by looking more carefully you can clearly see it says Samsung-SGH-T999 and Not GT-I9300. There is NO way to "Increase" Ram.:silly:

i9000 Awards - make suggestions for the winners!

Hey guys,
just came up with the idea that we could found the 'i9000 Awards'.
It works like that: in polls, we look for the most polite user/the dev with the most innovative ideas/the most used ROM/...
The award would be a nice signature banner or something else.
1. no best ROM/kernel/whatever discussion
2. show respect
3. don't spam the thread
Look at second post now and suggest possible winners. The suggested guys can later be voted in polls.
Here are the topics:
1. most used FroYo ROM
2. most used GB ROM
3. most used ICS ROM
4. most used FroYo kernel
5. most used GB kernel
6. most used ICS kernel
7. dev with the most innovative ideas
8. most polite guy
9. most helpful guy
10. biggest troll
11. most famous dev
Also remember back to the time when you still used FroYo ROMs, and vote for your favorite.
Now you can make suggestions on each prize: who should win?
You can also suggest more topics.
Pls don´t suggest someone twice. You´ll see who´s suggested in this post.
Best troll? got ya!

[ON-TOPIC]
Here are a few categories I thought of:
most polite user
best troll
most helpful user
dev with most innovative ideas
most active user(only in i9000 forum)
dev of most used ROM(GB/ICS)
dev of most used kernel(GB/ICS)
More ideas are welcome
[/ON-TOPIC]
This is sure nice event for sgs thread. Sometimes we need to enjoy and not just read rom/kernel thread, wrong section thread, spam comment and ultra noob comment who just asking without searching
How about award for
-Most famous dev in Sgs thread

Yes, we can add this . I think we'll need a poll site, as it would take a while with xda polls if we let each poll run for at least a week.

True . But let's see if there's enough interest before we'll start it.

I want to incorporate a special award to the dumbest post. And my suggestion goes to the guy last year that got the sgs2 camera port on his sgs and then said the flash didn't work! A true story... Unreal!
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Let's see... the idea was to give users/devs something back for their efforts for our device. But maybe as special award...
Thanks
Thanks to K for the Slim Rom.Unable to post on the thread.4.2 the best yet.

And thanks to Stratosk for his Semaphore kernel. The only problems I've ever had was when not following the correct procedure..........RTFI..........still true.

I don't know why you tell us that . So you like the idea?
maybe you should only refer the dev name and not what is he doing (rom/kernel) because people may arguing of or flaming about which rom is the best.
:good/s:when this gonna start?
Pawitp and Stratosk get my vote!

I think we shouldn't mix everything together. But let's see. It'll start when there's enough interest. Then I'll ask Yorzua if he can make some nice signature banners for the winners. After that, you can make suggestions for the users/devs we take into the polls, and then it'll start.

I thought you wouldn't...... There are three stadiums:
1. Collecting topics for awards
2. Making suggestions for the winner
3. Vote for your favorites.
We're currently in the first . To make it fair for the devs/users that already changed device, I think there will be separate polls for GB/FroYo/ICS. I'll post my first ideas tomorrow.

Who will be switching to GN 2

So then who will be switching ?
I now have mine and there is only 1 custom rom available.
Hope to see some of the devs from note show up with the GN2 with there great roms

Sir, look for the Off Topic thread to post in there...thanks & thread closed.

Note II variant forums - but no N7105?

So, they have made forums for AT&T version, Verizon version, T-Mobile version - but nothing for the LTE N7105. I guess because it's US based forums and the N7105 is not a US sold phone? Common XDA, look after the rest of the world too! I've read so many threads with people installing the wrong stuff because N7100 and N7105 have compatibility issues in modem/radio, it'd just make sense! Also, it'd keep other roms etc out of N7100 forums, meaning those users wont flash the wrong stuff.
So why not?
Yes i think there should be one specifically for the GT-N7105 as well!

From what I recall xda is based in Europe. It may have changed since I retired my mod-ship though?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk 2
From my experience in XDA, users will very likely flash the wrong thing if N7100 and N7105 Roms are together in the same place. So yes, N7105 must have a subsection to prevent 1 million unwanted posts on "Does this work on N710X?"

Maybe it is Europe...but the point remains, day of release US variants each get a forum, N7105 users are still without a home of their own. I still don't have my N105 yet (ordered, waiting shipping), but I can see loads of people already have the N7105. Why the lack of love for the n7105 users?
There is NO US Cellular forum either. So we didn't all get one. Seems XDA always leaves us out like we don't exist.

A forum for GT-N7105 is needed....Its also needed some developers to work on it because the international version is the GT-N7105.
Guys I think the 7105 isn't that much different. But it DOES require devs side work to make it work.
I think we need to make ourselves available as testers to work with them because they may not have the 7105.
BTW I'm pretty sure more devs will get a 7105 eventually as it become more available.

Yes! We definitely need a dedicated N7105 forum! Especially since 7100 ROMs are incompatible!

Tammyjustin I would suggest you read the page Daniel linked for you after hitting "Thanks" on his post if you have not done so already. Once you have read that, you need to read everything you can find on here concerning your device and if you have a question, search and research. I know there are several entries that describe roms that have been tested for your device. Flashing roms is time consuming. You need to know everything you can about the rom before you flash. It sometimes sucks to have to read 50 or 60 pages of comments that have nothing to do with your rom/problem but you are not the only one doing it. Good luck and have fun.
I actually have waited a month and read up on the last 3 phones I have had previously. ..This one I'm just trying to speed through cause I have 14 days to return it whereas the others I believe I had 30...I'm off now so I'll read up when I get home. .. Thanks
