[Q] [9505] all Odin files - where to find? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have galaxy ace gt-s5830i model. To fully unbrick this phone, i have all 4 files:
bootloader file
PDA
Phone/modem
CSC
and PIT
For galaxy s4 phone, i found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
I found some information here, but seems there are no phone/modem and bootloader files. I found only PIT, PDA and CSC...
'couse i have galaxy ace, i know that if i sometimes flash kernels or something like that, there 2 files will not help me. It will be bootloop or something like this. so i need all files..
actually, the main question is... where can i find all the files in one pack? i collected all the files for galaxy ace from different sources so i can flash/install to this slow phone anything. How about galaxy s4? where is all the files to fully unbrick my phone, not reinstall /system?
anyway, if i am wrong, explain me what is wrong
P.S. I heard that update 4.3.0 is released (actually - i know -_- ) but when i connect my phone to kies, it says not supported. I think it is becouse i rooted my phone and counter is not 0... that's another reason why i want to fully reflash my phone .

Updating the Galaxy Tab to the latest firmware !

Hey guys
I'm running the P1000JXJJ1, FroYo JPJJ2 firmware on my Tab, and samfirmware states P1000JVJL1 is the latest one !
so I was advised NOT to use KIES, and ODIN was better !!
My tab is rooted with OCLF set, Just a quick question, Odin will delete all my data and also I believe that I'd have to re-ROOT the device right?
another question is since I didn't have market out of the box, the product sales code has been changed to XSG.
thanks a lot guys in advance
Cheers
Jackie
if u use oclf, undo oclf b4 update firmware, kies or odin works fine for me, i'll only use odin when i screw up with my tab
and will I have to re root the device and also will ODIN delete all my data?
Hi,
searching for something else I accidentily found this thread.
Maybe my experince might be of any interest: got the galaxy tab 3 days ago, installed KIES and instantly got a message to update the firmware to Froyo JK5. I followed the suggestion to save my data which I regret later, because it took very long (had already copied a lot of videos to the internal sd) and couldn´t stop it. To cut it short:
the update was successful and nothing deleted, just everything in place. Also synchronized Outlook contacts, though at 96% it got stuck - waited a few minutes, then broke up and all contacts had been transferred fine.
(don´t know, if firmware is different for other countries...)
Odin will not delete your data if you did not choose to repartition, no need to use pit file to repartition if you are just upgrading fw from the same region..safest is still via KIES
To correct some mis-information from above. Flashing with Odin can delete your data, it depends on what components are included in the image you flash. If you flash an official ROM with Kies you should not loose your data but there is always a risk of an issue occurring during any flash that could lead to data loss. Unless you flash a pre-rooted custom ROM you will loose root and SU during a flash. These can be re-applied easily to the SGT using the Super One-Click method.
Redardless of what flashing method you use, if you use RyanZA's OCLF you must undo the lag fix before you flash, otherwise you will certainly loose data and possibly end up with a corrupt system that won't boot (I had first hand experience of this early on in my flashing days with my SGS!). You shouldn't really need to apply a lagfix to the SGT as it doesn't seem to suffer from the same lag as the SGS.
Finally, flashing with Odin can lead to product code being changed, especially if the ROM you flash isn't intended for the normal product code of your device. There are various ways to restore your poduct code, look in the Samsung Galaxy S forums for suggestions on how to do this as the basic construction of the ROMs is very similar between the two devices from that point of view. Also, be aware that people with SGS devices have reported loosing their IMEI while flashing with Odin. If this happens you will end up with a WiFi only device unless you backed up your /efs folder before you flashed. There's lots of info in the SGS forums about this and it's worth a read if you are new to flashing. I haven't heard of anyone with a SGT loosing their IMEI yet but it's worth taking precautions.
Happy flashing folks!!
thanks a bunch guys, I'm now running the latest version !!
was just trying to install the latest gingerbread theme from the forums !! will let you all know how that went

Go to the Android Development section.
Look up Overcome and BOCA for the Galaxy Tab. Both a great however I prefer BOCA. The current release is 2.3.4 but 2.3.7 is in the works.
If you follow the instructions for BOCA you will have a GTab that feels like it was newly born again.

Yes. Follow the instructions on the magrathea site or overcome
Use overcome instructions to instal stock GB 5. It tells you the pit and modem to use for your tab.
Then install the overcome kernel and reboot. It will root the tab and format the storage.
Then you install the Boca zip over the overcome kernel.
If you just want overcomes Rom follow their instructions. They make it simple
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
is that all??hmm,
will try donload all the files 1st,then i will try
thanks guyz for da info..
so i dont need to flash stock rom like i always do with my SGS before installing any custom rom?

[Q] Accidently loaded wrong ROM

So I needed to flash an updated ROM to a Galaxy Y to remove network locking, the post I found said it was for the GT-5360T variant which is what I was flashing, it turns out the ROM I loaded to it was for the GT-5360 as about page in the phone states it's now a GT-5360. The problem I am now having is that the orientation sensor appears to be slightly different between them as it is always 90' CCW to what it should be. I've googled for the firmware but have only found them for the non T variant with the exception of http://androidjinn.com/how-to-update-galaxy-y-s5360t-dolj1-android-2-3-6-official-firmware.html which is in a single .tar.md5 file that 7zip won't open and when I try flashing it to PDA in ODIN it hangs on the connecting section and then eventually reports failed.
Can someone point me in the direction of some firmware I can flash to the T variant to fix this?
To unlock flash this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647703
You don't need to flash a rom to unlock
For s5360T Rom check here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800
If it isn't there convert the file u downloaded to a odinable package using this

PHONE SLOW CLICK ME?

Thanks for the quick response!
I couldn't install Galaxy Toolbox because I couldn't root the device (Even removing Quick Office as suggested didn't work).
After flashing it with new ROM I was able to root and install Galaxy Toolbox and unlock the device.
For the firmware link you sent me they all appear to be the GT-5360 not the T variant. It is the firmware for the T variant I am having problems finding

[Q] PIT file for Tab t230NU

Hello, I bricked the device while trying to flash stock rom from different region and now I have infinite bootloop with samsung logo.
No matter what roms or recoveries I'm flashing the device just won't wake up. Can smbd please extract pit and post it here. Couldn't find any repair/unbrick threads with pit.
Or maybe write a tutorial on how to extract it from stock rom image.
Thanks in advance.

I should have mentioned that I already did that. The reason Im looking for pit is that twrp/samsung stock recovery cannot mount anything. (failed to mount data/cache/system)
I had same issues with shw m110s (korean galaxy S) and only PIT could solve the problem.

What did u do wrong?
i had the same problem a few days back.
i tought i was doomed !!!
listen up, this is what you need to do.
download the stock firmware from sammobile.
get your phone in download mode and hook it up with odin, then install the stock firmware, the good news is: You will not lose your apps, settings or files.
Everything remains the way it is.
in my case (i think) is that i tried to root it with a broken USB cable.
the other tought was that i used CF-Autoroot from chainfires website, it shows that its for android 5.01 while i was on 4.4.
at least, i hope you can use my info, please let me know if it helped for you
When it happened to me, i allmost ****ted myself

Thank you very much Racinghart91 . I have managed to fix the problem with Kies.
The main problem was that Kies was not recognizing my phone model, and I found out that the model as to be inserted in Keis with capital letters. With that Kies have found my correct firmware and I have updated it, and now its all good.
And I have a back up of all, ROM and apps . Now I can try another ROOT, and if it failde I have now all the backups I need.
By the way do you guys know any sucessful ROOT for my Phone, I have the Android version 4.4.4
Model : SM-N910F
SSN : N910FGSMH
Another question, should I wait for the next Android update 5.0, or ROOT my Note 4 befor the update?
I have successfully ROOT my wifes Note 3, and Now its much faster tahn my Note 4, in Apps, games all, damn how is that possible ?
Thanks once again.

SM-N910F Baseband/Modem firmware for Android 5.1

Hi all, just updated the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to CyanogenMod 5.1.1 ROM. Phone doesn't recognize SIM card (I live in UK) anymore, baseband is showing as "unknown" under the About Phone section. Please can someone let me know where I can download the Baseband/Modem firmware for SM-N910F?
Many thanks!
You could attempt to download the full stock firmware by either using 'Samfirm' or the website 'Sammobile'
Unbranded Note 4 CSC is BTU but it is currently still on Android 5.0.1 but the modem and bootloader will still work fine with Cyanogenmod ROMs.
Right, I did download the official Samsung firmware N910FXXU1BOC5 from a website, but when flashing with Odin 3.09 I was getting a error. So I ended up using the customized ROM which didn't seem to have the baseband/model inside. How could I extract the baseband from the official firmware in MD5 format?

Bootloader
Modem
Put your phone in download mode manually (Pull the battery out and put it back in after 10 seconds and then hold volume down + Home button and power on the device) Then connect it to your PC and run Odin as Admin and flash the bootloader and modem.
Make sure you uninstall Kies if you have it installed.

Hi mate,
I have a quick question with which I hope you can help (if you have the time of course ). There is a newer firmware version for UK, which is COK3 (and O2, which is what I have), and I'd like to update to this one, but the only way I know would be to update the phone entirely and then root it again and install whatever mod rom I'm using from there. However, this would be a painful lot of work. Do you know (or mind sharing) how to extract the baseband from an official md5 release so as to update this only or as well as the bootloader? Is there any way to put the entire firmware md5 file on Odin and tell the software to update just one thing?
I saw that you did just that above and I'm having some trouble with the phone connection being lost quite often, so it would be of great help.
Many thanks in advance for your help mate!

Thanks for the quick response mate! You are the man! I still have a couple of questions though. Firstly, what's the difference between the cp and bl files in the link in your signature? I take it that bl stands for bootloader, but not sure of what cp stands for then. In any case, the most important bit I need/want is the baseband, and since I'm in the UK and my network carrier is O2, I believe the XXU1COK3 (as per Sammobile) would be my best bet, is that right? Will it make much of a difference with the XXU1COJ3 that I have installed right now? In any case, is the bl-cok3.tar file in your link the same XXI1COK3 baseband?
Secondly, that other post that you included is for a galaxy s3 and within that topic they link to a galaxy s4 topic, will those files and guidelines also work for our note 4?
Finally, I have TWRP recovery and within advanced backup I can individually backup the boot (which I imagine is the bootloader) and the modem (which I suppose is the baseband as such). Do you know if I could I install a new firmware through Odin and, backup the modem and boot, and then restore everything but those two things from an different rom backup? Have you ever tried?
Thank you for your time bro! I know that these might be a little bit of a newbie's questions but for more thar I search, I can't find anything close enough to answer what I'm asking.

In the bootloader and modem folders I have included the latest Odin, if you use that the 'CP' and 'BL' will make sense.
CP= Modem
BL=Bootloader
The steps should still work for the Note4.
I don't back-up and restore bootloaders or modems using TWRP.

Aah OK, that makes sense. But then the modem I am talking about is not in that list, is it? However, the bootloader is I think. Is there any chance you could extract the xxu1cok3 modem for the UK and O2 to add it to your list? ?? Pretty sure other people would appreciate it too, I know I would :good:

I don't see a point in doing that, it won't make a difference. The firmware does not have a 'COK3' modem. So I can't extract it if it doesn't exist. The O2U firmware had a bootloader of COK3, CSC of COJ1 and modem of COJ3.
If the modem isn't working well then you should flash a stock firmware for your region and apply the appropriate CSC.
