Perhaps the 10 post rule isn't really enough . But I don't think we can go any higher.
To look at it optimistically, a lot of people are being kept out and I've noticed a difference in the clealiness of the dev section. But there will always be people like this.
1st. I didn't create this ROM, just asked Kenia1234 what to change and did it.
2nd. Kenia1234 and myself WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR PHONE!!!!!!!!
3rd. I9000 OP IS HEREhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116161
OK GUYS I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP TRY AND ROOT THIS SO WE CAN USE LCD DENSITY TO MAKE IT LOOK BETTER ON OUR SCREEN SIZE
This still has the button mapping problem and the auto rotation problem, If you know where a kernel(reoriented for HONEYCOMB on this device) is or someone that will make it ask them to do so, and post a link!(PLEASE!!!!!!!!!) Or make your own!
If coming from CM7/MIUI then just reboot into recovery and go to mounts&storage, wipe system, data, datadata, and cache, and flash GalaxyComb.zip !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If not follow instructions after download section.
Download the following Files-
1.- http://www.oozeroo.com/galaxycomb/captivatedownload.html OR http://www.multiupload.com/84KZ33WOUU (both the same, but show some love to the oOZerOo website )
2.- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1066885&highlight=MIUI OR http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=captivatemtd GET THE LATEST VERSION!!!!!!
3. Flash back to stock, if you don't know how- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
4. Flash MIUI/CM7 in recovery, reboot, let it boot ALL THE WAY UP.
5. Reboot into recovery, go to mounts and storages, format system and data and datadata and cache.
6. Flash GalaxyComb.zip and enjoy!
7. Fix I9000 Issues by flashing Glitch v12b3 Captivate kernel!
awesomeee! cant wait!
There are the regular problems with a ROM ported from an I900 phone w/ out reoriented kernel. The volume only has one level, data, doesnt work, not reccomened for daily use right now, but if you want a taste of Honeycomb on ur Cappy, here yahh go!

How is that not answering the question? Your original question is if kenia lets OP take the credit for the port. OP's answer is that he is not taking credit, and he clearly gives kenia credit in the first post of this thread. /facepalm
Obvious troll is obvious.

You say in the instructions you can come straight from CM/MIUI, which is what he is asking.
Honestly, it would be a lot easier for them to just download the latest (or just any) CM nightly, and then install this over it. Less downloads, no Odin, just 2 installs and you're set.

People,
I get errors about the Android keyboard stopping working - just providing feedback here since I can't post to the development forum yet.
Thanks,
Phil.
On which rom are you?
Clean or dirty install?
Wipes?

Do not for one second think this belongs in development. IF YOU DID NOT CREATE "IT", THEN DO NOT POST IN DEVELOPMENT. Just to make that clear.

Daily driver: RocketROM v10
- Installed the cm-9.0.0-n7000.zip from recovery
- Reboot
- Installed the cm-10-20120814-UNOFFICIAL-n7000.zip recovery
- Install gapps
- Reboot
No WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET - should that make a difference?
Thanks,
Phil.

How do developers get feedback on the functioning of the ROM they have created then? It would seem dumb to post responses in a different forum . .
Thanks,
Phil.
The installation process clearly states Wipe data/factory reset and then reboot...
So how about trying this?
Btw devs do highly appreciate if you follow their advice (rarely and uncommon to be found in the first post) of how to install their ROM properly in order to get the ROM working and finding bugs afterwards. Which includes a clean install in most cases i.e. wipe data/factory reset.

You can always take your case to the Mods, Phil. Just tell them their rules are dumb, I'm sure they'll revise them.
In that case it's only logical thatyou haveproblems. After changing a type of rom (stock, different cm, etc.) always make a full wipe

People often post about bugs, etc. in a developers ROM thread - you just shouldn't be creating new threads off topic.
In your case it would probably just annoy people as your problem is likely to be due to lack of research...
Read the installation instructions for CM9 on this forum. Its says you have to wipe after the install. I've gone from Rocket to cM9 (playing about with different roms) with a wipe after the cm9 install and mine works fine.
Thread closed
There is a thread for the discussion of CM10 issues, this discussion belongs there.
Development is for support questions, it's for development. Ask your questions in the appropriate area after searching to make sure your answer hasn't already been posted. The developers get the information they need, knowledgeable users will help you as long as you make it clear you have done your research first.
I downloaded the latest MIUI rom and now it won't let me boot into recovery. I get a permission stopped working every time I try to restore through rom manager. Any suggestions please?

IMO MIUI is incompatible with ICS + (or just not very good)
IF you haven't already try holding down power and vol- for 15-30 seconds to get fastboot menu
Then use volume keys to select recvoery
Also, try downloading TWRP onto your device.
If you have lost root, then your screwed and need to:
Code:
If you love MIUI and want to stick, download a different version of the rom on your PC
If not, google "Nexus 7 factory Restore {Windows/Mac OS X/Linux}"
to continue to install MIUI, follow the above ^ then root as you did last time.
IMO this is all much easier on linux, (especially with Nexus devices) by using ADB
Good luck ;D

Are you sure you tried manually holding down the up volume and power buttons to get to fastboot??
If you have, then your gonna need to connect to your computer like a I said before and do a factory reset (backup if you wanna keep your stuff saved)
Again, good luck
