DeadCalm(Rage) has the boot logo in 2 locations. The normal place, system/media, and another, I think in system/data. Use a file explorer to find the one that's NOT in the system/media folder and just delete it. You're looking for something by the name of "bootanimation.zip."

I have looked in the file you stated I have had no luck finding it

Sorry, it took me a while to respond. I had to try to figure out if I told you correct locations. The boot animation should be in system/media, however I told you it could also be in system/data on this ROM. However, I looked around a little and I think it's actually in data/local or data/media. I saw this in another thread, but I wasn't able to check in phone because I'm running a different ROM. Delete the one in data/local and leave the other one in system/media.

thank you for responding
is it possible that the deadrage logo was somehow embedded between the rom and recovery and thats why i cannot delete it and if so how do i get rid of it
btw are you one of the original developers of the rom
i have attempted to delete the file in the location you stated but to no avail

Sorry, I'm a little dense sometimes, it just clicked in my head that you were talking about the image and not the animation. This needs to be flashed in recovery. There is a thread on Droidrzr.com and, I think on here, that have flashable boot images. Again, I apologize for being slow.

Here's the thread on DroidRzr. It gives you two options, you can make your own or you can DL the flashable .zip. Personally, I take the easy way and choose the flashable .zip. Just DL and flash in recovery.

[Q] Latest GPS FIX

Can some one please tell me witch gps fix is the latest one and witch one in your opinion actually works. I see that a popular fix is the Dj05 radio fix and there is even a hardware fix out for the vibriant that bends the gps antenna contact. So witch one should I try first? witch actually works and witch are known not to work?
I searched and came up with a lot of different threads and I think we should consolidate all those threads and list all the fixes and make a poll asking witch fix worked better for the users. This is a very common problem and I am surprised there are no stickies threads been update regularly with the latest info. The biggest problem is that there are MANY threads about it and some are very old, not sure if there are better fixes now.
So please help me list and consolidate all those threads, I will update this post showing all your input. I also have 3 fascinates that all are a little different when it comes to gps and would love to try the fixes and post my results on all three.
Edit: I would also like to write the proper way to test your gps, I see some threads have this buried in between the gps fix steps and I would like to make it more obvious so if you know how to properly test the gps, let me know. I know there are some apps like gps test and status that show you lots of info, would be great to see a list results with a working gps and a faulty one.
thanks.
Dj05 solved my GPS woes.. insta-lock now..

When I was running stock, and rooted dI01 I laterally could not acquire a signal. I tried leaving it on, outside in the open, for over an hour, and nothing.
Going to dj05 I can lock within 10 seconds or less.
I am so impressed with the difference.

I tried following the guide on this link, successfully installed the radio via odin, tried installing the rom and kernel through clockwork but I do not have an option to choose zip file from sd card. the only option i get is to apply sdcard: update.zip. I changed the name of the rom zip file to update.zip and tried to flash it but it told me it failed to verify whole-file signature. What should I do now?
the guide does not explain much so I need some help.
Did you flash clockworkmod recovery through odin, then flash clockwork from rom manager? If so you should have an update.zip on your sd card that when applied takes you to clockwork then you can choose which zip to flash from there...

I do not think I flashed clockwork with odin, what I did is installed the dj05 Radio with odin by checking pda and finding the file, then pressing start. after that, the phone rebooted and I installed rom manager. Once in rom manager I installed the latest clockworkmod recovery 2.5.1.0. I do not have an update.zip file there on the root of my sdcard. what did I do wrong? How do I fix it? THanks
in about phone I can see that baseband version is s:i500 V.DJ05
The fascinate is different from other phones you need to flash clockwork through odin then in rom manager here is a link on how to flash through odin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788099
Flash that, then delete any update.zips on your sd card, then in rom manager flash clockwork and it will download an update.zip that when applied from stock recovery will take you into clockwork... Once all that is done if you already have the modem installed boot into clockwork and select install zip and find the DJ05 rom you downloaded, flash that and you should be all set...

I rebooted and it does the same, no splash screen. I waited a few seconds to make sure it booted all the way and the screen turn on by it self. seems like somehow I messed up the splash screen. I am going to try and go back to stock then try this again. I tested the gps on all 3 of my phones. white one is still doing the best, OG one (stock) is still doing same as before and the new one with dj05 is using more sats that the OG(6/8), but the OG has more sats in view (5/9). Is that weird?
That djo5 kernel from thread does not support boot animations. It's normal for that kernel.
good day.

[Q] Stuck on Motorola logo after cm7 flash

Now before anyone post the comment about there are other threads about this, i already looked and tried those methods for the past 4 hours. Nothing has worked. This is what happened....
I tried to install CM7 From CWM and when it was installing it didn't list anything that was inside the zip, it just said installing.........installation complete. i wiped the necessary wipes and reboot. Now i am stuck on the moto screen. my phone is Rooted, unlocked bootloader and i have cmw on my phone. i downloaded GingerMod and am going to try to put that to my SD card and see if it installs.
But i feel like i did that wrong to install the rom. If i am or if someone knows how i can fix my phone i would really appreciate this, i have a 1 year old son that is with his mother and i need to check on him and my job relies on my phone also. So over look my noobness and just someone help me, i would really appreciate it.
I'm using CM7 Mod ICS!
Everything runs good.
Try to install it.
Perform the appropriate wipes
Install the ROM zip from CMW
Install the zip of the GoogleApps
reboot
okay so i flashed the gingermod and i got past the dual core logo and got to the animated moto icon but it just looped it. so i am trying to flash it again and do the appropriate wipes. I will download that ics though and try it out if this doesn't work.

Which version? If it's not the newest one packaged with ROM Manager (or romracer's) then you're doing it wrong. 99.9% of the time this is what leads to stuck at boot logo.

what are the "appropriate wipes" that you're doing?

[Q] HALP! Nexus4 not booting!

Just installed the Google Wallet installer on my Nexus 4 as i am rooted and the wallet no longer works. However, after doing so the phone hangs at a black screen after displaying the Google logo, it moves no further. I can access Clockwork Recovery and i've factory reset the entire thing but it still hangs after the Google logo. any suggestions? i'm trying to install a stock rom but i cant get the rom onto the sd card. I can't seem to get 'install zip from sideload' to work either..
Any suggestions?

If you are seeing the Google logo you aren't bricked. Someone will be able to link you to the stock .img files and you have to flash them through fastboot.

Yea..im quite confused with the bootanimation and bootsound file structure of this phone. Usually it will just be sitting there, bootanimation.zip, but here, all I see is .qmg?

I guess you forgot to paste the boot-animation link.
Your fone must be rooted as you are installing custom rom. you can manually replace the bootanimation file using root explorer.
Try this thread.

Let me know if you still have issue.
Yeah same all i see is .qmg

I was implying the same..:victory:
Ok, but can someone ****ing give the solution already to this easy problem?
I have the same issue, is someone have found a solution yet????
you can copy/paste files to the phone in the followingstructure:-
/system/media/bootsamsung.qmg
/system/media/bootsamsungloop.qmg
/system/media/bootsamsungmini.qmg
/system/media/bootsamsungminiloop.qmg
/system/media/audio/ui/PowerOn.ogg
/system/media/audio/ui/PowerOff.ogg
/system/media/video/shutdown/shutdown.qmg
/system/media/video/shutdown/shutdown.qmg.cover
first 4 files are to do with boot animation, next 2 are the boot and shutdown sounds and the last 2 are shutdown animation.
once you copy them accross, you msut set permisions on all files to rw-r--r--
an example of a flashable zip is attached, and this just saves the bother of doing it all manually. just flash it from custom recovery (and maybe need to wipe dalvik and cache, I've heard that changes to system files on odex roms require this?)
p.s. the attached file is the s5 boot animations and sounds. i didn't make it....can't remember where i got it, so apologies to the creator

[Q] Rooted, soft bricked phone with locked bootloader

Basically what the title says.
I just want to preface this by saying I'm a beginner and I have no idea what I'm doing.
I tried to use safestrap and it did delete all my data but I accidently deleted my backup and my ROM I wanted to install.
Safestrap doesn't seem to want to work anymore. It gives me the screen saying that so and so is disabled and it will boot in 10 seconds, but I can't interact with this screen.
What can I do? Safestrap just doesn't work so I can't flash a ROM from SDcard, and the only thing that seems to work is Fastboot, and that's locked, so what are my options?

You can use RSD to flash the firmware from here http://sbf.droid-developers.org/ , you can use House of Moto http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/28162-house-of-moto-23/ , or you can update to stock KK (keep in mind you'll lose root on KK) http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/45495-how-to-xt907-upgrade-to-kitkat-ota/
