The title says it all. I restored the original build.prop with System Tuner so I could apply the new OTA update. But it turned out the backup was from 4.2.2. So now my rooted, unlocked Nexus 7 stops at the boot animation. Fastboot works, so I'm going to use WugFreshs toolkit to push the stock build.prop. If someone would kindly upload a copy somewhere or tell me how to extract it from the stock factory image file ( is that possible?) I would appreciate it greatly.

Hi, igerup...
Not quite sure what it is you're trying to do... but here is my copy of stock build.prop for 'grouper' (WiFi only) Nexus 7... extracted from my Jellybean 4.3 JWR66V Nandroid backup.
Hope it helps.

Hi, here you find old (and new) official Nexus S complete images or also just the OTA updates:
http://www.randomphantasmagoria.com/firmware/nexus-s/
Thanks for the link, unfortunately fastboot images nor the update zips will currently work for me. I imagine that I could, but I don't know how to, make a clockworkmod flashable kernel zip out of the fastboot image. I understand that I would need to extract boot from the image, but making it ready for cwm flashable is over my head.

Yes you have to download the complete fastboot image later you can extract only boot partition using 7zip.
Later read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875739
Download this custom kernel.zip and paste inside the stock boot, this will give the instruction to correctly flash the partition. At the end you can use CWM to flash this zip file. If I helped you just click thank button.
If that don't work, a last try could be to post your problem also here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1932832
Where we are talking about update from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 and there are a lot of people with a lot of experience (more than me).
I need one too..So if you find one post the link here

What's stopping you from downloading and flashing a 4.1.2 ROM?
I will be selling my nexus 10 soon and would like to flash back the stock Nexus 10 image. I did review the forum and did not find anything specific (sorry if I missed it). Can anyone link me to the factory image?
Thanks!

In review of that site, I just want to confirm that those can be flashed with CWM or would I need to use Odin?
Thanks again for the quick response!
*Edit: Looks like I may be able to use the Nexus10 toolkit to restore?
Yes you can use the toolkit.

Hi,
I have a nexus 4 running PA 3.99 with it's stock kernel
And I want to delete ALL of it's data, I unlocked my device with WugFresh toolkit and it deleted everything, this is exactly what I want to do.
So I want to know if I can do it again but stay with Root, Stock rom and an unlocked Bootloader.
I want to use WugFresh's toolkit if it's plausible.
Thank you guys in advance!
Reflash the stock rom and root again!
I think there's even an option for that in the tool
But I would advise you not to use a toolkit. Of course it's easy to use etc but you won't learn anything and for example, you don't know how to use fastboot to flash the stock rom. But your choice

So... Thanks
If I'll create a nandroid backup after flashing stock ROM and Unroot, and root again, after I'll restore it it'll be like I flashed stock and kept the root, right?

Sorry I don't understand what you mean. If you create a nandroid while you are stock unrooted, then you decide to root, flash custom roms, etc, when you restore that nandroid it while return the phone to the state it was in at the time of the backup. So when you restore it root, custom ROM, etc will be removed and you will be left with stock unrooted. Is that what you were asking?

I'm not 100% sure but I think fastboot will delete everything and even format /sdcard. So you should better copy all files on /sdcard to your PC, just to be sure

Well I'm not really sure what the toolkit will do, but if it does flash all of the factory images (including user data) your backup will get wiped. It's safer to copy it onto a pc before doing anything, then after you are done you can copy it bak onto the phone.

I don't know the app but according to the description it will work with all roms/kernels, you just have to be rooted
Only the GAMMA interface will not work. You have to be on Franco kernel to use it

Does the latest version (r178 I think) work well?

I received the ota but has to revert to stock and now it won't show up again. Any way I can force it? I have already tried force stopping Google services framework and rechecking for update, but didn't work

If anyone received the OTA can't they just go into the cache folder, grab the zip file, and post it?
I decided to restore mine completely to stock to see if i can get the ota and normaly within 10 mins of being back on stock i get one update to the 15r update but im not even getting that at the moment...

I think you will have more luck in your device forum. This one is for the 2012 N7.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013
I had same issue. You can download factory image from google (you can download krt16s version and then ota or simply kot49h) and open it with winrar. Extract the zip file inside and then flash system.img using "fastboot flash system system.img". It will revert system partition to stock
