Hi all,
maybe you can help me trying to figure out why i can't charge the find5 battery via usb cable (just to know the phone is not a new one).
Every time i connect the phone to a notebook or desktop pc to charge the battery, the charge level goes down, quickly! I've tried many usb cable (original Oppo, a Samsung one...no success) but the phone is correctly recognized as usb device.
I'm on latest CM 10.1 nightly, but I've tried also with latest Paranoid (always with the kernel provided with the rom).
Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Andrea
Edit: just to add that the battery is correctly charged with the wall charger

To answer your question, that is very strange behaviour. Have you done a full wipe before flashing the ROM? Which kernel are you using? Does it work with stock ROM?

Yes full wipe (plus format /system). Tried with CM10.1, with its kernel and ParanoidAndroid, with its kernel.
Gonna try with original Oppo firmware, but can't do it from office.

Static electricity.. have read about it in some guides and articles..
The best would be to use a magnet attached to your USB cable. That should prevent shutting down... Digital camera's usually have included this kind of cables.. It's even required to meat some ISO guide-line

Use a USB cable with that bulky thing attached to it. Some network cables have them too... maybe you can take it off easy..
DO NOT USE A regular magnet!! it's too powerful and might damage more than you think!
thnks, ill try it and get back to you....
you learn something new everyday.

That means there's a problem with the connection between the PC & the phone. Make sure Kies/its processes aren't running (check in Windoze Task Manager & close them if necessary). Try different USB ports on the PC (if you're using a hub, don't). Try different cables (especially a genuine Samsung one; buy another if you need to). Uninstall Kies (if you have it installed on your PC) and/or Samsung drivers, reboot, download a fresh copy of Kies & reinstall it (it has the drivers you need), reboot & try again. And if none of that works, try different PC's as well.
Is there a way to charge the battery outside the phone?
I was trying to recover my LS980 via this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 ) when my battery died.
Now my phone is completely dead and not recognized under Linux.
Is there a way to charge the battery via a USB cable and straight to the battery?
Thanks.

You think it's the battery that's dead, or you fried the phone completely?
But no, not really. Look at the battery connector.. Which is rather tedious to get to, and it's tiny.

Would a straight connection between a stripped USB cable connected to a charger do?
Thanks.

That's hardware, software can't fix hardware. Take it to a specialist.

Hi All,
I have one Note 4 N9100 what already lost IMEI number and I cant find way to fix it.
Now I plan to give the phone to my father as media player to play some game and facebook purpose.
But the Android OS are draining battery very fast and avoid phone to go into deep sleep. I already try to flash different type of ROM on this phone but problem still exist.
Method and ROM I have try
1. All ver Samsung original ROM
2. Original ROM with custom Kernal
3. Few Custom ROM
4. MIUI 7 for N9100
5. Flyme OS for N9100
6. Root & Unroot
7. Disable Radio
8. Flight Mode
But none of this work, I feel waste if i just put this phone into drawer.
is there any other way to fix the Android OS Battery drain issue? Anyone can help to create fix path for this?
Suggestion are very welcome, Thanks you in advance
