Hi everyone I would like ask to the people who uses a flip cover what app do you use for locking and unlocking just with opening and closing the cover of the screen. Since I just got my flip cover I downloaded an app called "Simple Cover Lock" but I just saw the problem of battery drain and it really kills my battery or at least it seems like that.

I used the same app with my flip and the battery was poor. It's probably too difficult to improve due to the sensor/app being a wake lock.

Even I use a Flip cover. I use the inbuilt setting(Goto sleep in quick settings) to lock the phone and to unlock the phone I use volume waker built in feature..
Touch to wake is what I used on 4.2.2 but on 4.3 I can't use it, kernel issues(unsupported for a few)
Try out "awesome on off" app. It uses proximity sensor to turn screen off and you can use it for flip covers

I use proximity screen off, I purchased the full app to get more features

I believe I found out what's causing it.. lol I am wearing a magnetic ring and when I touch near the bottom left on the back it turns the display off weird?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
So apparently its supossed to do that with magnets like in a case but works with my ring kinda cool.

Had the same problem. Used to fold the front of my case behind the tablet to use Kindle app for example then realised the magnets were causing the screen to lock. Was driving me nuts for a while and I was all ready to return the tablet to the store. All's well now though :good:
As some of you noticed the lg g2 came with a free quick window case. Which I personally really really like. Just when the flap goes over the screen. It never stays on the screen... Its always raised. So its not stable and it can turn on the device by accident. Just wanted to know if anyone is having same issues or have a solution ( if you know what I am on about anyway)

same issue here
Mine didn't come with the case...

No free case here. But then again att likes to repackage their phones and take out all the extra goodies a phone would normally come with.

You have to break it in. It takes about a week or so.

After about a month, it's still a bit raised for me. I was hoping it'd be magnetized or weighted.
It's nice to see i'm not the only one with this problem, even though it is a pretty minor issue to me anyway, it is REALLY annoying :/
you would of though they would have put a magnet on it or something.
Yes it will work after you open and closer it about 100 times. I also layed a book on mine eventually it works as intended

Wild guess here, try turning off Miracast in the notification bar toggles.
Nope, it off already...

I know the music player and video player also use dlna like example you can connect to wifi and stream music and videos from another device via dlna
This is nuts, it takes the equivalent of two hours screen time... And I don't even use it!
So the only way to disable it is by purchasing titanium backup?

Strangely the same thing just popped up for me. I've had the phone a week and never noticed dlna when looking at my battery stats. Today the phone appeared to be using more battery and dlna was the top offender for battery usage.
The app will not stop, I've cleared data and cache, tried to force stop and it just won't. I'm really not sure what is using it.
I added a lockscreen widget for the quick remote app yesterday night. I've removed that to see if it was causing dlna to run more, it doesn't seem like it should but who knows.

I wasn't either, but just today it started. I finally got the DLNA process to stop, going to watch closely and see if it kicks back on again.
Hi,
Since about a week ago my nexus suddenly started to die at about 30-40%, it depends. I don't really care about the fact that my battery is empty, but the fact that it happens on 30% and I don't receive a notification at 14% is really annoying. Is there a fix for this?
I'm running Aicp with stock Aicp kernel.
EDIT: Since I stopped charging my battery percentage hasn't changed for about half an hour.
Edit 2: I rebooted and now it's 41%.. Really strange
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It's getting worser now, it usually turns off when it's around 40% and around 50% I lose connection with mobile network and can't connect any more. I've tried different radio's but had no effect. I'd really like to know how to fix this. Or is the only solution to buy a new battery?

Take the back off the phone and see if your battery is bulging. This sounds like a battery issue. I had similar symptoms on my last phone. I took the battery out and spun it like a top.

Yeah I had it with my old galaxy Y too, my battery became so fat the battery cover didn't fit any more. But that happened slightly, this came out of nothing.

Haha, I was with friends and suddenly I noticed that I was able to spin my phone, and together with the fact that the battery was acting strange I thought it must have been swollen. And yesterday I saw a little lump.

see your imei and baseband, are they all unknown?
So playing around with some night vision goggles I discovered the proximity sensor turns on when the screen turns off. I tried a phone call and discovered the flash pattern was the same. I played around with the settings but could find nothing that could explain this (on my s4 quick glance the culprit). Does anyone know why this is happening?

Wouldn't it start looking for your face only when a call is coming through?

The sensor stays on to prevent knock-on from working in your pocket. If it detects that the phone is in an enclosed space, it will not knock-on.
