So,
I transferred my itunes playlists all ok to my phone.
But I wanted to transfer all my Windows media Playlists as well as I have a large number on their and didn't want to spend hours re doing them all on itunes.
So I did the sync from WMP to my S4 and that went through ok, however none of my WMP playlists show up on Google Music Player / PowerAmp etc.
The only music app that is showing the playlists ok is Samsungs own Music Player App.
Does anyone know how I can get the playlists to show up elesewhere like the itunes ones do in the other apps?
Thanks

Is it possible to import a playlist created on your PC i.e. .m3u into the HD2 and make it appear in the sense music player?
Can you sync music/playlist on your PC with the HD2?
Yes, use Windows Media Player and right click on the playlist and press "Add to sync list" and it will appear in the sense player when done.
Thanks...I'll give that a try
Just tried this but only music being transferred and found by sense music player...NOT playlists...Are you sure this works??
I'm wondering this, too...how can I get my fifty gazillion song playlist onto my phone without sitting down for hours and manually re-creating it? This is very frustrating. Can't we stick a text file or xml or something into the phone system to get sense to recognize it?

Not exactly what you are looking for, but give it a try.

Did anyone come up with a solution to this?
I have tried all sorts to get a playlist from my PC into my HD2 and to show up in the sence player to no avail
I've been playing with different ways to get my music on and seem to have a working solution using MusicBee which gets all my music including tags and album art into sense perfectly. It copies playlist over but I can't get sense to recognise them. Getting fed up with recreating playlists every time I change my music over on my phone
If anyone knows a way to get playlists into the sence player it would be most appreciated.
Does anyone know how to sync Winamp or iTunes playlists directly into to stock player?
My music collection is highly organized so I need my playlists and I like being able to navigate my music from the lockscreen.
I've seen a couple suggestions like doubletwist or itunes agent to get my music onto my Aria but I have yet to find a way to get my playlists straight into the native music player.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
i don't know if the default music player has syncing capabilities.
i would check out doubletwist player. i know that program can sync with itunes pretty well.
edit:
why are you wanting to use just the stock music player? doubletwist is a free download and a much more full-featured app. i would highly recommend it.
I used to keep my Ipod Nano in my car hooked up with an Aux cable but my Ipod's screen died so I ripped all my music from it onto my hard drive with different folders corresponding to different playlists i had set up.
I remember setting up playlists in the default android music app but they disappear everytime i flash a new ROM.
Ideally, I would like a music player that is able to use the playlists I have setup in Itunes but I do not mind making playlists again as long as they save the playlists on the SD card.
Anyone know of a music player that saves the playlist on the SD card so if I have to hard reset, i dont lose the playlist?
Thanks
Hey, this might be something you're interested in.
The app Audiogalaxy allows you to stream audio to your phone from wherever you setup the server.
You just download the app and download the server from the website and you can use whatever folders you set up with the helper.
I have access to all 60gb of my music as long as I have a data connection streams great. : )
Winamp... Also, if you d/l winamp on your computer you can sync it with itunes and your itunes playlists. then you can also sync your phone with winamp. At least I am pretty sure that's right.
Sweet, I will try these out after work!
I like the sound of this. I'll try it out now
I like stock Samsung player, but if you want something different i recommend DoubleTwist-its nice looking, simple and has streaming.
You could try the MiUi music player found here on xda.
Sent from my always stock, froyo Epic
Use Meridian. You can back up your playlists using the Play Q tab. Simply export your current playlists to the play Q. You can export the play Q lists to the regular playlist tab after flashing new roms. I love that feature
Also with winamp, you can push your music to your device over a wireles network, no cables needed!
CM7 ON MY EPIC!
RE: best music player with playlists...
I've tried a few music players and have to agree that Winamp is really good (and free). It just got a update and I think improved it a lot. The playlist function is really well done. I'm going to have to try the wireless transfer. Thanks for that tip!
Mortplayer. Its the bomb completely customizeable.
cd's or tapes?
Iam using the stock google music app and I synced my music with Windows Media Player 12 from my Windows 7 laptop. I have all my Album info but no Artist info. I've search for a way to get the info and I have removed all my music and resynced. Is there an app that can help or did I do something wrong when I synced my music. Thanks for the help.

I haven't used WMP in a long time but I'm guessing when you say sync, you actually hooked up the tab to you laptop and than synced within WMP?
If so, than maybe just try directly copying the mp3's over from your laptop to your micro sd card.
Tried that too no luck. Thanks for the suggetion.

There are a couple ways to get artist and album info into your music. There are some apps on Android that can do it, but I personally find that it's music better to deal with doing this on a PC or Laptop than within Android.
The first and easiest method is to use WMP. Once your music is in a place WMP can actually find it, ie: a monitored folder of your PC, by default I think it's My Music but you can add folders manually, then you can open up WMP and hit the Find Album Info button, and go ahead and match your tracks to what you see in there. This works best if you have the music already arranged in folders using the Artist and Album names.
The second way is manually, there's an application called MusicBrainz Picard which is really good at identifying mp3s and also tagging them. If you ripped your music yourself from CDs or purchased them from Amazon or iTunes it should find the information and will match it up for you.
If MusicBrainz doesn't work for you, the last ditch program is Mp3tag which can look the information up based on Album or Artist names, then you can have it batch tag the files for you, based on your arranging the mp3s into the proper order, or you can just tag a few - whichever you prefer.
There are other tools as well but these are the programs I use, so I can only speak for them.
Good Luck.

Than you could try a different media player and see if google music is the problem.
Theres pleanty of free ones in the market.
Temp Fix
I sort of got my artist info. I downloaded IDFixer from the marketplace for free the only program that reads the née artist info is the Acer Media app. Hopefully Google will update their app to fix this.
What program does everyone use to sync their itunes playlists to their S5?
I've tried isyncr, doubletwist, and different types of file managers but i have been able to find something as simple as itunes and that doesn't mix up my album covers.

Well Sir, That's a good question I would like to know too!
Im tired of modifying music on itunes and later finding the file, then usb/wifi pass it to phone.
If there is a good app for that, I would like to know.
Urm Google music? Download the music manager for the PC and it will sync with iTunes. Just runs in the background and will sync your play lists etc. The Android app will then download the music as you need it. Album art and all.
