Anyone know a good music player with playlists? - Epic 4G General

I used to keep my Ipod Nano in my car hooked up with an Aux cable but my Ipod's screen died so I ripped all my music from it onto my hard drive with different folders corresponding to different playlists i had set up.
I remember setting up playlists in the default android music app but they disappear everytime i flash a new ROM.
Ideally, I would like a music player that is able to use the playlists I have setup in Itunes but I do not mind making playlists again as long as they save the playlists on the SD card.
Anyone know of a music player that saves the playlist on the SD card so if I have to hard reset, i dont lose the playlist?
Thanks

Hey, this might be something you're interested in.
The app Audiogalaxy allows you to stream audio to your phone from wherever you setup the server.
You just download the app and download the server from the website and you can use whatever folders you set up with the helper.
I have access to all 60gb of my music as long as I have a data connection streams great. : )

Winamp... Also, if you d/l winamp on your computer you can sync it with itunes and your itunes playlists. then you can also sync your phone with winamp. At least I am pretty sure that's right.

Sweet, I will try these out after work!

I like the sound of this. I'll try it out now

I like stock Samsung player, but if you want something different i recommend DoubleTwist-its nice looking, simple and has streaming.

You could try the MiUi music player found here on xda.

Use Meridian. You can back up your playlists using the Play Q tab. Simply export your current playlists to the play Q. You can export the play Q lists to the regular playlist tab after flashing new roms. I love that feature

Also with winamp, you can push your music to your device over a wireles network, no cables needed!
CM7 ON MY EPIC!

RE: best music player with playlists...
I've tried a few music players and have to agree that Winamp is really good (and free). It just got a update and I think improved it a lot. The playlist function is really well done. I'm going to have to try the wireless transfer. Thanks for that tip!

Mortplayer. Its the bomb completely customizeable.
cd's or tapes?

How do u manage music on X1?

Normally i carry my ipod..but tomorrow i wanna try X1 as my music player.
which is the best way to get music on it?
drag n drop .. or use Windows media player to sync?
or is there a better way?
a matter of taste really
if you want to keep using itunes you can
use itune agent to sync to your x1
How do you do that?
It will be awesome if i can sync my Itunes to my xperia. I have a 16GB SD card i want to put some stuff into lol.
I use foobar to listen on pc and whenever I want something on the device I just copy/paste it from the player to the phone. Simple as that.

You can only synchronize ONE iTunes playlist to your device with iTune agent. There are two other programs that should be able to synchronize multiple playlists with your device: Salling Media Sync and Pocket Tunes.
yes man you can mange you music withe this step
setting > Connection> usb to pc > and select Disk Drive it is Better and speed
I have tried everything. The best music player/manager for any windows mobile device, is strangely a freeware app, Mortplayer. I have installed this on my wife's X1i, and it displays beautifully, even album art etc. There is now an update for this app with a nice Vista style skin. Other skins are available. Very cool MP3 player indeed. It also plays Ogg files etc etc etc.

Media Player with Smart Playlists

Hi Guys,
I am new to the world of Windows Mobile having got my TP2 on Saturday which is my first Windows Mobile phone. Prior to this I had an iPhone 3G. I am trying to find a media player which has similar functionality to the "smart playlists" available in iTunes. I would like to be able to create some playlists based on ratings (e.g All Tracks with 4 stars).
So far I have found Pocket Player 4 which has some of these playlists built in but I have been unable to find a way to create my own ones. I know I can hack the existing ones but I was looking for something a bit cleaner. Do any media players for WinMo exist with this kind of functionality? I have tried some of the free ones (Kinoma Free Play, Nitrogen etc) but I have been unable to find what I'm looking for. Does anyone know if any of the pay ones have this available? If not I guess I will just stick with Pocket Player but I don't want to buy it yet incase something better exists.
Other than this minor issue I am loving my new toy .
have you tried creating a smart playlist with windows media player on your computer...then sync it (using windows media player) to your phone?
Yeah, but as soon as you copy the playlist to the device it just becomes a static dumb playlist. I was looking for proper smart playlist support on the device itself where they playlist would update on the device without the need for syncing.
I'm thinking I will just settle on Pocket Player and hack the files to suit my needs. I am quite surprised that such a feature is not in more of the WinMo media players though.

so you're saying you add a song to a certain playlist then you want the mp3 to automatically download to the phone when in a data connection? thats a nice feature but alot of people wouldn't want there phone to use that much data at once, i believe if i'm already at a computer adding to my playlist i might as well have my phone synced because it will be charging and adding the songs the much much faster. But i do see how it could be useful, for instance if you're not at your home computer and want to add 1 or 2 songs to a playlist. But i guess the would only work if I actually PURCHASED all my music,

No, no; that's not what I mean at all. I've probably just not explained it very well.
In Windows Media Player on the PC you can create an auto playlist. So for example I create a playlist called "All Songs With 5 Star Rating" and set it to play all songs that are rated 5 stars, it would then list all the tracks in my Library that have 5 stars. Then if I play a couple of tracks from my Library that are not rated and I rate them with 5 stars they would then automatically appear in my "All Songs With 5 Star Rating" auto-playlist; I would not need to add them to it manually.
I would like to be able to emulate this functionality on the device. As it stands at the moment if I create such a playlist in Windows Media Player and sync it to the device it will only sync the songs currently in the playlist. I cannot then give tracks on the device a 5 star rating and have them automatically added to the playlist on the device UNTIL I do a sync with the PC.
I hope I've explained it a bit better.
I'm thinking I will either just live with the Windows Media Player route for now and pick up Pocket Player at some point in the future.
Thanks for the input though guys, much appreciated.

edit: nevermind i fully understand now, you want the phone itself to create the autoplaylist. windows mobile media player sucks and isn't that advanced but i defintely would agree with what you want. hopefully they are able to port the zune hd music player to their phones.

oh ok i understand. I do have mine set up like that. if you try to use the auto playlist that populates by windows media player then it will not work, but if you create your own auto playlist that picks up every song lets say abover 4 stars, you can then sync that playlist to your phone. i have mine set up that way. on my desktop its called favorites and everytime i rate a song it will show up in favorites if its rated above 4 stars, and when i sync it will then be synced to my phones playlist. Basically what you want i do all the time.

Yes, but I want to be able to rate a song already on the device itself and have it added to the auto playlist on the device without the need for a PC. Does that make sense?

MP3-Player and Playlists with Kies

Hi,
i got my sgs yesterday and i am wondering why the stock mp3-player does not recognize playlists which i sync with kies. the mp3 files will be synced, also the *.pla playlist file, but the player doesn't show it. my whole music library is based on playlists and i don't want change this. I also tried doubletwist which can read *.m3u files but, because of the lagging problem i have, it's impossible to use this. I also do not want to flash my phone after 2 days of usage.
Is there any way to create playlists on pc which i can use with the default mp3-player? I also tried creating playlists directly in the player but for me its too circumstantial doing this for 20 compilations.
I am pleased for any advice.

same problem for me cant seem to transfer awhole playlists in PC to SGS with kies, really like Samsung Music Player but because of this thing i have to use Doubletwist
If you use mixZing, it'll be able to read your .m3u playlist files, and if i may add, it got one of the most advanced equalisers on the market.

[Q] Default location of media

I have a folder called music on my sdcard, and another one called video. When I run the media room app, it doesn't pick up that I have any music or videos.
Is there a specific folder these are supposed to go in to so that the media room picks them up?
I don't know about where to put them, but if you run doubletwist.. which is compatible and comes with the default SD card, or download it. You can have it sync a playlist for you. Then where it puts the music you could organize your self? Not a perfect solution, but would get the same result.

doubletwist sucks. Try isync. I tried doubletwist on my Evo and it doesn't allow me to just download the music (it downloads every stinking file that's sound or video on my computer) like I was able to do while syncing my ipod through itunes (that's what we're looking for, something that syncs the same way itunes does). I haven't tried isync yet, but I hear it's more like we mac/ipod owners are used to.
yeah... I'm not a big fan of doubletwist.
It's funny that the Gallery 3D picks up all the media wherever I put it, but the media room app doesn't. The only one it was able to find was a pic I put in the download folder.
I agree double twist sucks.
WMP (windows media player) also recognizes it as a valid sync device.
/sdcard/Music/ARTIST/Album..... etc
Hope that helps.
You can also set up Winamp wireless sync by checking out the newest version of winamp, but that is temperamental at best.

Music Manager for Easy Synch

Ive read a lot of posts where people recommend Poweramp, Pro Players, etc. Ive also messed around with Google Music.
What I am most focused on is a music app that allows for easy synch. For example, what I liked about DoubleTwist was that I could use Windows Media Player to organize music and playlists on my PC, plug in my phone, and have it very easily and seamlessly automatically synch any new playlists and songs. However DoubleTwist does not currently work with S4, Nexus 7, etc.
Google Music has a nice easy interface but synching was hard - the wireless took FOREVER and it didnt synch easily when plugged in.
Can anyone help guide me on so me of the music player choices in terms of this ease of keeping it synched with my PC music library?
Try easy phone tunes... Works for me!

Get iSyncr from the playstore and use any player you want.
Guys - since posting this I have tried a bunch of different desktop music players to organize my music and easily synch it with my device. Ive tried WMP, MediaMonkey, etc.
By far the best I have come across is MusicBee. Its very easy to use, has all the features Id want (for example, ReplayGain) and it synchs quickly, easily and reliably.
I strongly recommend it!
