Does anyone use this app here?
When u enable the flash to snap document, does yours gets washed out by the bright flash?
Or anyone used the N4 to snap document with the flash on? Mine totally washed out with the flash and making the pic unusable..
im using this app for about two years now, it does superbrighten the snapped picture.
im only use it with no flash or auto flash and try to get the "scan" in a different angel.

Has anyone else had a problem after installing the Leo camera cab from post #2 on this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=639964
The flash pictures do tend to be better exposed (and not come out too bright). But, most of the time when my flash is set to auto, the picture comes out pretty much black. Its like the flash is firing too early and when the picture is actually taken the flash is has already switched off.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling cab and soft resetting but problem still remains.
The only way I can get a the picture to expose properly is to have the flash set to always on.
Hmmm which Manila version do you use?
Im using the updated stock rom by o2 1.72xxxx and the new camera cab just works fine for me.
Did you use tweaks on it?
EDIT: Just when i finished the upper text i get the same problem (weird!).
Using the auto flash i also get full white or full black pictures.
Hmmm...
Sometimes it works tho. Do wen need some other drivers???
I have tried the Vibrant, Galaxy S, and Captivate camera software, none of which seem to work correctly when trying to send a picture or upload a picture I took in portrait mode, the picture always comes out sideways. Its odd because in the gallery, it shows the picture in portrait mode but as soon as I try to send it, it turns the picture sideways. Dont have this issue on my old iphone 3gs nor my G2. Strange thing is, the pics I uploaded from iphone onto my Vibrant, it correctly orients those if i try to upload them or send them. Looks like there is some sort of breakdown of communication between the camera software and the "share" portion. I find this pretty annoying as its such a small simple thing that should be fixed. Anyone got any ideas what to do? Is there a program to modify orientation so i can fix it before uploading or sending? Although the pics show up in the correct orientation in the gallery so not sure if that would help?
So nothing?
Use Picsay to fix your pictures

How about you rotate the pictures before doing anything with them??
LMAO xD
I agree with the OP and have always experienced the same issue. The suggestion that you rotate the pic before uploading is completely ridiculous. The reason we have the "share" function built into the gallery is to make things fast and convenient. Having to edit/rotate defeats the purpose.

exactly, cant wait to get rid of this phone, samsung couldnt even get a little feature like this right. Plus the pictures are also already correctly oriented in the gallery, so not sure if rotating would fix the problem?

even when the pics are taken within the facebook app, this still happens, so it might not just be a share issue from within the gallery.
anyone find anything on this? quite annoying..
I also noticed this, I wasn't sure whether I made a mistake with uploading or what
I've always had this problem too
Don't you think you are doing it wrong op?
you are supposed to take pictures in landscape mode.. not in portrait, the default is landscape even though it will let you take pics on portrt.. so best solution is to take pictures in landscape... is that too hard to do?
Even if you take a picture with the phone upside down.. your screen will always show you the upright view of the image so that you won't have to twist your head around while taking pictures side ways or upside down... gyroscope is it? But it will be saved on your gallery in the way you took the picture in...

but what if it's not a landscape-type picture, which is the issue here.. pics should be able to be taken, saved and uploaded in both landscape and portrait, or frikin sideways or upside-down if the user so chooses.

Umm you mean a vertical type picture? I think the landscape mode itself is the portrait aswell.. I tried taking a picture in landscape then sent it to myself as mms... i got the picture in the upright position.. then i took another picture in portrait.. i got the picture side ways.. although the image in camera was in upright position during portrait, the pic was still side way because ovbiously the phone was in side way position..
When the camera comes up, its set to landscape, even if you hold the phone normally for a portrait shot, the screen orientation doesn't change. No matter how we tried to take this picture, no matter what it looked like in the gallery, when it uploaded or sent, it was in landscape.
The camera doesn't work like it does on other Androids.

I tried to take a picture to a document in a completly dark place , and I couldnĀ“t focus, i tried with default sense camera, camera zoom and camera 360, in my previous phone, samsung i900 it switch on the flash while focus an then took the picture.. i cant do it with hd2.. any help will be highly appreciated..
t seems that anyone ere likes to take pictures in the dark)
Yeah i know where your coming from, anywhere it's very dark or very bright it's impossible to see when your trying to focus,i was on the beach today with my son and taking some snaps of him playing and i couldn't see with the sun but thankfully the photos turned out ok but with my old digital camera i was able to see a lot more.
Just take the picture. The flash will come on and the picture will be able to be seen.
This is something I was stuck at too. Normally, on a phone with flash, in the dark, trying to focus would temporarily activate the flash to let the phone see where to focus, and then fix the focus on the spot and shoot the picture.
My HD2 won't do that. Just one of the little things no one thought of.
use the torch app widget to flick the torch on, it will; stay on when you jump to camera and focus will work.

pro-hdr-camera has a torch option in the flash settings which keeps the led on so you can focus in complete darkness, bought it just for that feature. also take pretty decent shots.

Hi everyone,
have searched around and can't seem to find anybody else with this problem so i though i'd create a thread to see if anyone has any ideas.
Upon loading the phone up for the first time, I synced all my contacts up from Google. I have pictures saved for most of my contacts, these have always synced up fine with my other devices, galaxy S3, Note 2, Nexus 4. But with the HTC one the photos are there but obscured by a sort of black mesh. So I took some more photos, replaced them and all was ok. Until I decided to unlock bootloader and flash Renovate. Upon syncing contacts again all come back up with this black mesh. I know it is only a small thing, but it just looks rubbish, and I don't want to replace them all only to go through same process when I flash another rom.
Just wondered if anyone else has same problem and have found a way around it.
There are other threads on this. It is because Google contacts used to use low resolution pictures. The alternative would be awful blurred upscaled pictures. I think they made the right choice.

I have one contact image that does that. It's caused by the fact that the image I use for that contact is insanely small, probably 96x96 or something. This One contact manager blows it up but makes the pixels circular rather than just upscaling them to square blocks.

I think this was EXTREMELY smart on HTC's side... instead of leaving it like a crappy blurry image it..
Sorry I had check but couldn't find any. I had redone all the pics on my nexus 4 which loaded big pictures. In fact bigger than what's used in the HTC one. Plus that still doesn't explain why if I were redo the pictures now and sync them to Google then format the phone and sync them back again later you would expect that at least the ones redone on the HTC one would display correctly. Yet they don't.
Thanks for your help

I noticed that every time i take a picure with flash, the flash triggers, the thumbnail appears to be taken with flash, but i go into the gallery and the pic is all black, like there was no flash triggered.
Does anyone know what this can be?
Thanks in advance.

tap the screen to focus before taking the picture... or else flash the photosphere zip package then you won't have the problem
Thank you, Kurt.

Yeah I know what you mean, this and some other weird stuff with the camera and with flash most (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472073)
I just take few pictures with flash and then choose the better one. @kurt.gomez - what do you mean by 'flash the photosphere zip package'?

Most ROMs don't come with the photoshpere capability built in cos that propritary Google stuff which is not yet open... so you need to flash a separate zip for that... can download it from the link below
