I don't think the charging port outputs current. I'm guessing it just accepts input.

I'm sure the pogo pins do not source current, that would be silly cause if you put it in water you'd short them. Also, the nfc is too far away from the device nfc. Nice idea, but unfortunately improbable.

I remember reading about these on gizmodo or engadget or something. They announced them then disappeared for a year or so, then released them. IIRC, the reviews were poor because they do not fit in a standard sized electrical box that most outlets have, but instead require one that is slightly bigger. Unless the contractor that wired your house had exceptional foresight, count on knocking a rather large hole in the wall to pull out the old box and install a larger one.

Yeah, this was an issue for me. I bought one only to find out it wouldn't fit in any of the electrical boxes in my room. Definitely something to consider.
Another issue to consider is if you have wall warts (the plugs that are big black boxes), those will block the USB ports.
I do remember the manufacturer following up on one of the reviews saying it was looking into making a small more compatible version. I don't know if anything came out of that. Anybody know?

Only your comment has nothing to with the Evo. A USB wall receptacle is pretty useful to anyone with USB devices, including the Evo.
Wall worts with usb built in would be useful as well. No installation needed.

The closest I have seen to this is a nightlight that has a USB port.

A USB wall outlet would be very easy to make yourself if you had any basic soldering skills (and electrical knowledge, of course).
or you could just plug it in to your pc lol

Set the i9100 to development mode (so it's mass storage not mtp) and it MIGHT work. Try it let us know.
I wonder if once the i9100 on the left drains, if it will try and charge from the other

Survival of the fittest. I predict that the phones will take turns being the gimp and top until they approach 0% shared battery at which point they'll both be hard bricked. You're probably thinking this sucks, but don't worry, you've got expensive nunchucks now.

Oh well. I'll suggest to the devs that they implement this crucial function in their custom kernels lol.

Once you connect the USB cable, go to notification area and and click on "USB connected" message, there you would find button for "Connect USB storage"

Also wireless Mouse/KB
and the best part for me is I can Connect my USB speakers to it.
But in case of speakers Battery must be charged well, as speakers are high powered device.
But it runs as long as battery is not down to like 30-40 %.
I just picked up a couple. They were .69/each with free shipping.

The one the OP linked has an official Qi logo on it, which is supposed to mean it's certified. The one you linked doesn't, which usually implies it's not certified. Pretty big difference there (even though our pre-rev12 Nexus 4 phones aren't certified).

Except in the description it says it's qi certified. And the logo does nothing for qi certification and it's absence doesn't mean anything since one of the best wireless chargers, the wcp-700, doesn't have the logo. I'm sure it's against copyrights or whatever to use the logo without certification, but every certified device clearly doesn't need to use to logo. But the guy simply said that the fast tech chargers looked nothing like the one in the OP, and it's pretty obvious the one I linked to is basically identical except for the logo

Has anyone tested that $40 one (http://www.fasttech.com/products/1215400) with the Nex4 and can confirm it works with the bumper case?
This $40 one is USB powered and output 0.7 A vs. 1 A for the other $36 one (http://www.fasttech.com/products/1142301), i wonder if it has any impact on charging time and capabilities and if it has an issue with topping up the battery?

Happy chap, new Z1 turned up

I had to send my Z1 off for repair after my girlfriend bricked it, she plugged the magnetic charger the wrong way round and somehow managed to make the contacts meet. Needless to say, one fried handset.
Sent it off about a week ago and have already received a new handset from Sony under warranty with them citing that the design shouldn't allow the contacts to mate in the reverse polarity under any circumstances and that it was a concern that it managed to happen.
Less than a week from sending my handset away to getting a new one, no questions asked and no money paid. Although they forgot to send my charger back with the replacement handset so are sending one that will arrive this week sometime.
Happy chappy here! Been using a Droid Razr and boy it is crap!
Good to know about your replacement, but when I make the magnetic charger fix the phone in the opposite way, the phone switches off and reboots and doesn't get bricked.

Cheers I don't know why it did so much damage to mine but Sony confirmed it was the charger plug being reversed that was the source. So it's now official, it CAN brick the phone if you connect it the wrong way round.

Well the pins aren't actually identical either side of the magnet. The lower of the two pins if offset in its little plastic circle. That should stop the pins touching the wrong way round. One pin is positive, one pin is negative. It's not rocket science. She just pushed it hard enough it made a contact somehow.
