I remember reading about these on gizmodo or engadget or something. They announced them then disappeared for a year or so, then released them. IIRC, the reviews were poor because they do not fit in a standard sized electrical box that most outlets have, but instead require one that is slightly bigger. Unless the contractor that wired your house had exceptional foresight, count on knocking a rather large hole in the wall to pull out the old box and install a larger one.
Edit:

Yeah, this was an issue for me. I bought one only to find out it wouldn't fit in any of the electrical boxes in my room. Definitely something to consider.
Another issue to consider is if you have wall warts (the plugs that are big black boxes), those will block the USB ports.
I do remember the manufacturer following up on one of the reviews saying it was looking into making a small more compatible version. I don't know if anything came out of that. Anybody know?

Only your comment has nothing to with the Evo. A USB wall receptacle is pretty useful to anyone with USB devices, including the Evo.
Wall worts with usb built in would be useful as well. No installation needed.

Thats actually a pretty good idea. I'd hate wall warts a lot less if they did this.
The closest I have seen to this is a nightlight that has a USB port.
Isn't there a like a wireless mat charger?

A USB wall outlet would be very easy to make yourself if you had any basic soldering skills (and electrical knowledge, of course).
or you could just plug it in to your pc lol

Well... I'm sure it's insured... but if it's not, don't think of it as a destroyed phone... think of it as your new ARM-based robot controller or embedded development platform (since the display's broken, but the other half works). It's not inconceivable that there's a serial port hiding as an alternate pin function on the headphone jack or Samsung's "Embraced and Extended" microUSB connector ;-)
(don't laugh. I know for a fact that the G1 DID, in fact, have a serial port hiding on the headphone jack or USB connector, though I'm not sure whether current HTC Android phones do, or whether Samsung's ever did. I think it used 5.0v TTL logic levels instead of +/-12v RS-232, but it might have been 2.7, 3.0, or 3.3v instead.)

I have to say, sometimes I'm impressed at what cell phones can survive. Had you not shattered the screen, it would probably still function, AFTER having been run over by a car! ...or big wheel, or whatever you drive. lol
Aw man that sucks, in the words of the babby cavemen, "i am truley sorry for your lots."
On the bright side, at least now I have some sort of visual on what's holding our sliders together and why it might be so loose... would love to see some more pictures of the slider guts.

Gorilla Glass != Aluminum Oxynitride, which probably WOULD survive being run over, but would add about $250 to the raw materials cost of making the phone.

I'm stealing this. Awesome. Just awesome.
As far as the op is concerned, mine isn't so much a "where" as a win. On multiple occasions, my wife and I have been making out as a precursor to playing a little hide the bishop, and she has run to the bathroom for one reason or another. So I took the opportunity to begin wiping and flashing....and then finished the process after we, uh, finished the, uh, process
Needless to say, I have been punched for this a few times.
Edit: I was going to fix my misswype above by replacing "win" with "when," but then I thought "Meh. Just as good this way."
I do it when I'm driving
then again I do everything while driving, even swyping this

Gotta wipe from front to back too. Don't want to get an infection.
On topic: Usually at work (parts dept. at Honda dealer). I fashioned a nice little stand out of two pieces of radiator hose so my phone sits and about a 15 degree angle in portrait. Chrome to phone and dropbox make it so I don't have to bring my usb cable to work!

A Nuukey bluetooth keyboard for the iPhone; I had seen one of these before online and thought if it could be some way retrofitted onto another phone. It was a

Ugh playing roms on those things was infinitely more fun when I had buttons to press.

this is fantastic. now what you should do is pick up an extra battery cover and outfit the sliding joint to it. i wonder how hard that would be. i have been trying to figure out this exact mod for months

Youtube vid shows it on, slight modification necessary however. Definitely think I might do this once I have some money.
I think a USB keyboard in this form factor would be fantastic, less battery consumer, and it shouldn't be so hard with the USB-host support, I'm right?
Why we don't suggest it to Nuu?

The one the OP linked has an official Qi logo on it, which is supposed to mean it's certified. The one you linked doesn't, which usually implies it's not certified. Pretty big difference there (even though our pre-rev12 Nexus 4 phones aren't certified).

Except in the description it says it's qi certified. And the logo does nothing for qi certification and it's absence doesn't mean anything since one of the best wireless chargers, the wcp-700, doesn't have the logo. I'm sure it's against copyrights or whatever to use the logo without certification, but every certified device clearly doesn't need to use to logo. But the guy simply said that the fast tech chargers looked nothing like the one in the OP, and it's pretty obvious the one I linked to is basically identical except for the logo

Has anyone tested that $40 one (http://www.fasttech.com/products/1215400) with the Nex4 and can confirm it works with the bumper case?
This $40 one is USB powered and output 0.7 A vs. 1 A for the other $36 one (http://www.fasttech.com/products/1142301), i wonder if it has any impact on charging time and capabilities and if it has an issue with topping up the battery?
