Is it possible for me to use the digitizer from another Motorola Droid phone and use it on my Motorola DROID RAZR M because I don't want to pay anywhere from $130 to $240 for a new digitizer

I would say no unless you got one from a used M, it might be possible to use one from another Moto phone but it would be best to use the same thing that came with the phone. If you use something else you can run into a busload of issues.

Ok, here's my story.
I currently have a HTC Droid Eris and I am in the need of a new phone. Other people with other Verizon phones get better service up here than I do, the GPS doesn't work, and my phone has broken 5 times with me getting the same replacement phone each time.
I've been researching the Droid X and I've really liked how responsive it was and how it didn't freeze up when switching screens and such. I know that the Droid (the first one) has a good signal up here because my parents had full bars when they came to visit me.
Ideas?
Buy a Droid 1 for half the price?

They told me that they don't sell the Droid 1 anymore and I don't want to buy a used one. They offered me a refurbished HTC Diamond for $250 or so which I think is total ****.
U should add a line. U pay a lil more monthly but u get the phone for 200

I always think it's worth it just to shell out the money to buy the phone full price. That way you don't have to worry about a contract, and worst case you always have the option to sell the phone if you needed money/moved/change carriers, and you'd recoup a decent amount of it because you wouldn't have an early termination fee.
The X is a huge step of from the Eris, I'd say go for it.
Agreed

Go for it. I stand by this phone completely. It's my favourite of the current gen smart phones.

What about the fact that Motorola is coming out with a 2GHz phone this year and that the recommended specs of a phone for gingerbread are 1GHz, 512RAM and something else?
Just found this out.
I say go for a droid incredible not as big a screen but a better phone and this is coming from someone that is carrying a DX

Having the droid X and coming from the eris I would 100% say that it would have been worth it to pay full retail. I added a line so that I could pay 200 now. In the end I will wind up paying full retail but not such an upfront hit.
Get the HTC Incredible. I have the droid x and after all the bs moto has pulled with their handsets released after the OG Droid, if I had known then what I know now I would have gotten the DINC. Of course my opinion is based purely on the ability to hack and customize. For someone wanting an " out of the box" non hackable phone the droid x would be a good choice.

Hi guys just out of curiosity.... I bought my droid 2 for 200 in september.. now they got rid of the og droid 2s and are coming out with d2 global.....-_- I still am paying for the protection plan and was wondering is there anyway to obtain the d2 global without a freaking termination fee? Lets say my phone breaks are they going to replace the phone with a d2 global??
Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
Probably not seeing as its not the same phone. Maybe if you do the whole replace it three times and then we'll cave in thing, but they probably won't just swap it.
You would probably have to do the replacement over and over, but other than that it doesn't look like it because they still have a whole bunch of OG Droid 2's left.

ah....well, thats a bummer...i guess i will just stick with the og droid 2. Having the option to swap sim cards when the contract is done would have been awesome.

Verizon activation question. I have a friend that is selling me a Droid 2. I have a Droid 1 with a two year contract. Can I turn off my Droid 1 and activate the Droid 2 (same number as Droid 1) without telling Verizon? do they have to know?

Yes you definitely can. Just power off your Droid 1, dial *228 from the Droid 2. It will ask you to enter the phone number you want to activate on the Droid 2. Type it in. It will then ask you for your account password. Type it in. It will play music for about 45 seconds while it activates. Voila! I just dis this last week and it took about 2 mins max, worked like a charm, and I didn't even have to bother with a rep.

termination fees have nothing to do with the phone, termination is termating your PLAN. not your phone.

True. Sometimes if you got in on some "deal" with your phone though, they can charge you or deny rebates if you switch to another phone too soon.
I've got an incredible, unrooted, and I'm working on my 3rd replacement in 2 weeks now. The last one, would do the shutdown then 5 vibrates for no reason at random times, started when I got the phone. What is the replacement phone for the incredible? Or does verizon even do this.
Hard to say what a replacement will be. My wife got vzw to replace her Droid 1 w/ a Droid X after her 3rd phone went bad. Some people are getting Inc 2s from Asurion

My friends got droid x from Verizon for a dinc.
I got another inc after one replacement. I used best buy mobile black tie warranty
I know someone with the same problem. Think just after the 2nd one she got a Droid X from verizon.
i have herd people getting droid x2 and incredible 2 and droid x and there have been at least 2 thunderbolts... i believe the x2 and thunderbolt they had to pay the difference on the phone it was like 100-200...
Also last i herd they were out of incredible 1s and thus can't give you a new one anymore... I also herd they were out of droid x.
I would REQUEST a DI2.
This thread is too funny...your manufacture warranty is on that device..there is no magic number to get a different device
I'm looking for a broken droid x and of course someone willing to give it for free. The reason im looking for a droid x is because mine has the camera switch broken after i took it apart. I would buy a new camera switch, but the damn part is like 14 bucks + 10 shipping and i suppose that a free one would cost way less than that. Well, that is all and thanks.
*I'm willing to pay for shipping.
Dude I just bought a new camera switch/button for my DROID x yesterday:
5$ free shipping
Just ebay DROID x camera button
He had like 8 when I ordered hope that helps

I can't use ebay. I got fed up one day with paypal and i refused to provided them with personal information and my account is limited at this time.
Why not ask if you can mail them a check? Or money order? Google checkout? Just give paypal your info? Lol
Well gl with the search regardless

I would do that but not many people are willing to do that and i dont blame them.
Thanks for the reply!
Motorola should have really done something like this for the new droid line up...I bought the new back from amazon for $25 and the speaker grid for $5 although I think you could get them cheaper elsewhere used
Very nice.
