I would like to share with you my new open source project. It is still in early stages but fully functional.
It's aiming to provide a simple Text animation.
It will be much appreciated if some developers would try it and share the apps they made using this library.

Thanks.

Good evening! I just released the source for my very own slimserver client for windows mobile! (I was very frustrated as I couldn't find any free/open source ones out there).
This is the first release ever, and hence very very basic. Thus, I have only released the source, and no binaries..
It does work, and it does satisfy my current requirements, so I don't plan on spending a lot more time on it. If you want to see it evolving to meet your own needs as well, please do help, by donating your time and coding skills
In order to make it work , you will have to manually edit the libslim\core.cs file with your slimserver details.
There are no GPL notices, nor attributions in the files yet for the various pieces of code that I used. This will change soon!
The scrolling list control is called Kinetic Scroller, and I found it on this forum. Many thanks to dosfan for releasing the source to that excellent and extremely usable control (I did some minor changes).
I found what was the basis for SlimXML somewhere on the web, I don't remember where. Many thanks to the developer In order to compile it, you might need Visual Studio 2008.
You will also need SlimServer version 7 beta installed, as the previous versions do not provide any CLI functionality for browsing the music folders

Nice..
This sounds great. Currently I am using the handheld skin and mplayer. It works but a real client would be sweet. The only problem is I don't think I can get a C# compiler. Do you know of a free one or would you be able to get me a binary? I'm running duttys 6.1 on a at&t tilt.
Thanks and good luck with the project.

Hey,
Anyone got any links to some code samples for creating a panel using c++.
I have VS2008 and the SE SDK but the panel there only shows how to put some text on the panel and no more without a good explanation how to extend this to add images etc.
The html panel is limiting so rather not build a pabel with that.
So hope there is someone here who could contribute some source code / vs project so i could get on my way creating one, just not alot of information on the net about this that i can find, really wish SE would help us all out with better examples and a full list of pseudo codes for html panels, you think think they would given that this is the unique point to the xperia.
My wee x1 needs some love!!
Thanks in advance,
Andrew
Try looking for help on MSDN. Try searching for "Directdraw" or "GDI". Haven't found any better tutorial yet :S
Hi there!
I've started this project to make an application to track myself when i'm out walking with my lovely touch pro.
Now i would like to make it open source and free for all trekking amateurs, and i'm posting this here to get some advice and to see if someone is interested.
I would like to make a simple and beautiful application, that doesen't drain the battery and that allow to record and repeat trails, store waypoints, integrate some mappings and exchange data with google earth or others apps. It might include some geocaching features and online sharing stuffs as well...
The project is hosted on http://code.google.com/p/trailcompanion/
and i've set up a development blog here: trailcompanion.wordpress.com
I'm not releasing any cabs soon, just some source code to start and see what we can get...
however, if someone would like to be involved just show up here!
*Edit 2009-08-30:
I've posted some updates and sample screenshots on the devel blog:
http://trailcompanion.wordpress.com/2009/08/30/post-holydays-update/
You could take a look at TrackME.
They also have a web interface.
It's all good, except for the sql requirement.
For my part, for small data, I prefer flat files.

Here the screenshots:
I need a push start!!
i have created a circle composed of 12 concentric rings.
i want to make a live wallpaper with these rings slowly spinning in opposite directions.
i have been studying numerous web threads on how to create live wallpaper, but it just seems to me that each one assumes that the reader knows a lot more about developing in java for android using eclipse than i do.
please help me get started.
i understand the basics. i have created a couple of text based applications that i've ran on the emulator and installed on my droid x. they worked as planned!
i'd be very appreciative and willing to donate lots of time and even cash to a developer who will work with me online or offline to get this project started.
i am a veteran of 30 years software development for the VMS operating system. I've also created 2 dozen or more clock applications in lua for the windows mobile operating system. i've developed management applications for monitoring and configuring over 1200 windows 2003 servers in java, vbscript, c#, .aspx, html, perl and so forth. i'm no dummy, i can code!
i've written code in just about everything, even java, but the use of xml, manifest files, the android graphics interface has me baffled. maybe it''s just too many ways to get it done that confuses me.
anyway, i'm in need of a push start and am willing to donate to someone who will patiently get me going in the right direction.
thank you!
Although I can't give you much help, I can recommend that you look through the samples that come with the Android SDK for base source code for live wallpapers.
And also, even though the many option make it seem difficult, one you play with it for a while it gets simple.
I hope that I've helped at all. Good luck!

anybody?!
well this sure isn't the response i thought i was going to get!!!!
bump!
You'd be better off asking this is in a more generic Android/App Dev forum.
This forum is DX specific (and quite frankly, a lot of people have left the DX platform for newer phones).
