Just upgrade to cm10.2. Wifi tethering works now and at this point 10.2is slightly more stable than 10.1 and it also has more support.

It does not work on SlimKat Alpha 1.1 from my testing, including a full wipe afterwards as well as cache/dalvik only, tried twice as well.
If it works on houstonn's AOSP, it will probably work on his PA as well but I haven't tested that just yet.
I'm going to try to manually do it and report.
I have a Sprint HTC One running the latest CM11 build by "kushdeck" and just flashed the deodexed version. Following your steps provided all works flawlessly. Thanks so much for making this available to everyone.

As great as the custom ROMs are for the N5 on Kit Kat, the Google Dialer differs from the AOSP one included in many ROMs in certain aspects:
- uses the "old" 4.3 Phone Icon
- Misses the local search from your dialer app.
In order to help, I have put together 2 versions of the dialer, the teleservices (for phone) and the telephony provider.
Deodexed Version: Included all 3 apps deodexed (dialer, teleservices, telephony provider)
Odexed: Version; Contains APK and .odex files for the 3 apps
GAPPS uploaders are considering whether the Dialer is universal and may include it in their GAPPS in the neat future, for now, we need a seperate flashable zip.
Installation Change the dialer only: (ALWAYS make a backup before you test)
1. Depeding on your ROM, download the ODEX or DEODEX version. I highly recommend the odexed version, that is the one I use currently.
2. Install in recovery.
3. Clear cache/dalvik-cache
4. Reboot
NOTE: Depending on the ROM, you may see a f/c when booting from the com.android.phone apk. If that happens, you may need to WIPE your device and reboot. I have not understood yet why some roms have issues, and others do not. I just recently tested with a dirty wipe from CM11 to another AOSP rom, flashed the ROM, installed the Dialer-mod and it all works fine.

Successfully running in latest slimkat release following the notes instructions in the OP. Just curious if I will be able to dirty flash with next slim release. Thanks for this as I like this feature.

That is just yours. And I changed the TeleService icon. I don't like an 4.3 icon in 4.4, even though it can't be seen in Google Home.

The TeleService.apk in BANKS gapps is the same as yours. If yours doesn't work, his doesn't, either.
Gotcha. The only thing he does differently is not deleting the aosp dialer.. Which means no FCS for people that had them before. Both banks and I are trying to figure you why it works on most Roms and some others require both dialers...

When a call comes, TS in AOSP wakes up Dialer to show the answer button and interface, while TS in Nexus 5 wakes up Google Dialer.
So if the TS points to Google Dialer and works without FC, all the problems are resolved.

true - however, given that my and his script replace the TS from AOSP with the Google TS -> it should, in theory, not matter which ROM. UNLESS there is a lib or something similar that calls a specific TS to work only....

i have omnirom nightly on my hammerhead of 22-01-2014 i tested this rom for a long and i see that there isn't multiwindow feature :crying: , i tried to press and hold an app in recent app window, but there isn't the voice 'add to split wiew'. i try to install a multiwindow patch but it stuck..so is it implemented or there is a method for activate it or nothing support until now from omniteam?

That's for 4.3, and in any case, it requires you to build Omni yourself.
Multiwindow is still a work in progress, and for that reason, it has not yet been merged into nightlies.

- Camera not working
- Extcard not detected, but you can use file manager to copy extcard content to sdcard from /mnt/media_rw path, see this commit to fix it, confirmed working by me ?
- no dt2w on settings, but you can enabled it manually, type su -c echo enabled >> /sys/devices/virtual/input/max1187x/power/wakeup in terminal app, need to retype after reboot

Thanks alot for sharing the perfect stable AOSP 5.1.1 for Z2. Flashed the latest build in my friend's Z2 today. No bugs. Camera seems better than CM and decent. This AOSP 5.1.1 coming with CM Theme engine. So u can install various CM themes also..
Installed latest sony home + Music + Album + Video + Invisible Power button SystemUI + modded settings + flash light mod + Dolby with Louder stereo speakers mod etc in this build. Now its perfect.. I am using his mobile right now for further testing.. Thanks again for sharing the link..

Hi too, i'm confusing about this, the latest build of vanir rom is android 6.0.1 not 5.1.1, also vanir rom is based on cyanogenmod, not a pure aosp, that's why they have cm theme engine and similar to cm ..
Oh so the latest build have camera working ?, i'll test later, i'm on 0104 build and my camera's still error

No no no, cm based rom can use any gapps (for now), because (see my attachment)
Also i feel more battery friendly :laugh:
I can tell you, that open gapps and Bank gapps dont work i get fc of gp Services in Setup Wizard. I didnt Boot between flashing!
If you Boot up Rom and then install gapps, Setup Wizard is perma fc...

Even I've not used it yet but I guess it has an issue. After a long time using with WiFi, mobile data won't work unless doing a reboot or toggle airplane mode (this issue is caused by baseband), in Carbon ROM, mobile data even got FCs. I've just backed to stock yesterday, wish I read this post earlier.
The mobile data issue can be fixed by replace the /system/etc/firmware folder, I replaced one from stock sony but got another issue with bluetooth, you can give a try with the firmware which is taken from this, test it and report.

Can confirm this bug. After toggling airplane mode on and off, mobile data is there.
Update:

Bluetooth function completely gone. Can't find any Bluetooth Device.

im on cm 14.1 and flashed the stock GAPPS and camera and video work fine for me
I'm not able to access my downloads, screenshots and other media files using apps like whatsapp, Snapchat etc,. But I'm able to access the ones that got saved before I switched to this rom. I didn't have this issue on resurrection remix or the other stock ones. Weird.

those users who came from marshmellow based custom rom to this nougat based rom are facing some problems like yours and other problems like not able to set fingerprint lock for multiple fingers ( more than one ).
i flashed this rom after updating to the nougat soak test version and other users who did this are not facing much issues. one more thing this rom is still under alpha stage so we shoult be patient bcoz the developers are working on it
