U8800 not support T mobile 3G in US? - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

I just sign an unlimited data plan with T mobile. Unfortunately, my U8800 can not connect to the 3G network. My friend's iphone 4s, though, can connect to the 3G. Is there anyone who can figure out why it is so?
Thx

[Q] t-mobile for calls and another service for data

Is anyone using T-mobile for making calls only, no data and using a different service for data?
I am wanting to use T-mobile for my phone calling service but I want to use my hotspot/modem for wifi as it always goes with me and I am already getting a good deal on it. So I am looking to see if anyone has done this. When I talk to T-mobile they say that their pay as you go has no data but I am wondering if there is any way for T-mobile to interfere with my wifi hotspot/modem. BTW I am new to smart phones.
No you can do that. Just have your Nexus 4 connected to the WiFi hotspot all the time and you will be fine. It won't interfere with your cellular connection for phone calls and messaging

This will work. I did this when I used a phone that didn't have T-Mobile bands.

N4 on AT&T

I have an LTE data plan and use an LTE APN and I find that some times my data will not work. I put the phone to sleep and then back on and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Everything is always fine on WiFi. Anyone else on AT&T find they have issues like this?

Do some searching. I don't have ATT but think I read once someone had luck reverting to the non-LTE APN with fine speeds. Just repeating what I read, so take it for what it's worth.
You will need to switch your LTE data to HSPA plan.
Change APN to phone instead of pta. Leave everything else the same. I personally create a new APN, name it 4g or whatever you want, set APN to phone and that's all. Works very well for me. I am on a hspa+ plan now but this helped when I was still on my lte plan. This should work for you.

That's not true I use my AT&T PTA APN and it works perfect for me. I can use the pta(lte), hspa+, or Cingular.WAP and all 3 work great

LTE APN works fine for me using PTA, however my data speed isnt that great compare to tmobile.
ive tried PTA and Phone, they both yield the same result for me.
I have an AT&T plan and SIM from my previous LTE phone. I use the preset LTE APN that came with CyanogenModand it works great.

Apn
I have an lte plan and found the Cingular apn too slow. I changed mine as follow
Note* I found it in a thread and has worked flawless with faster data speeds. I live in the bay area, California
Apn - phone
Mmsc- http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
Mms proxy- proxy.mobile.att.net
Mms port - 80
Everything else as it was

"Sometimes", meaning at times it does without intervention? When you try to access data what happens? On tmobile thr phone idles on 3G and takes time to switch up to H. Sometimes having to refresh a page or click a few times until it kicks in. Is this what you're experiencing?
Did you have to enter an apn or did it set them automatically for you?

Can you screen shot those settings?
For those who still have LTE data plan what speeds are you getting?

Thank you for posting yours. I'm currently on a LTE plan coming from a S3, I went in to AT&T store and asked about having my plan changed to a 4G HSPA+ plan and they told me there is no such plan. They just have 3G and LTE for smartphones. Weird, I'm pretty sure folks have posted images of their plans... oh well, if this LTE APN works well, I'll be happy. I hate that I lose my data periodically with the Cingular APN.

Can't get speedtest to work on mobile data

Anyone experience this? Wifi no issue, mobile data it pings but no download or upload

I think some carriers block it, it wouldn't work for me on net10 but gophone works perfect. Then data was useless on net10 to begin with so maybe it was just timing out.
I'm att no issues before

hotspot using LTE data?

can someone please link me to the URL that makes the nexus 4 on LTE share LTE using hotspot, i can hotspot but it will only work on GSM mode(speeds are really slow if its NON LTE speeds), if i try it on LTE mode , the device can connect to my nex4 hotspot but it won't get any internet
im on the Rogers network in canada
thanks
The Nexus 4 does not really truly support LTE so this is one of the issues, unfortunately there is no application to do such thing.
Have you switched to a 4G plan?

i have LTE on my nexus 4 using the hybrid .33 modem flash, i want to get LTE speeds via Hotspot sharing, but can't, it only connects when i have 3g or H (GSM auto PRL)
my device ( nex7 tablet, can connect to the hotspot but it won't get internet) when im on LTE(nex 4 lte mode) rogers apn ltemobile.apn

Works fine with Bell LTE
For what its worth, my Nexus 4 with 4.3 and the .33/.84 hybrid modem works fine with the hotspot feature and the phone operating on LTE. I'm on Virgin Mobile Canada (Bell Canada) so I think more of a carrier specific limitation.

Unlocked 6t will not connect to my network extender

So I just switched from my broken pixel 2 XL to my 3-g network extender, I got the 3-g one because I just wanted to be able to make calls at my house and use my Time Warner Cable for everything else so it it seemed unnecessary to pay for the 4G extender. Unfortunately this phone will not connect to my extender, any ideas? is that particular extender on a band that is not built into this phone?

If you're using verizon the 6T is an LTE only phone. It won't communicated with the 1x or 3g networks.
Those extenders were made obsolete by wifi calling. Why not use that instead of a garbage 3G connection that has to connect to your broadband internet anyway just to work?

I use a T-Mobile cellspot for sms/mms, which is always spotty on WiFi. Also I don't have to worry about a call dropping due to switching from cell to WiFi.
But I'm a certain use case. I travel for work and public WiFi sucks for WiFi calling. So I always keep it on cellular preferred.
OT: OP will have to give more details on their set up. What band is that 3g extender? Who is your provider?
It's a Verizon 3g extender and I'm using a Verizon sim.

Here is the model Samsung Network Extender SCS-2U01 Verizon Wireless SCS2U01 Signal Booster. Without it my phone only had service in some areas. I have a Verizon sim and the phone is unlocked version from OP. Are there any cheap alternatives for a Verizon customer without cell service to get it.

Do you have any thoughts on a solution? Can't really have the phone if and I can't receive phone calls in my own home. I suppose you would say a 4G extender? But the ones I see are like 300 bucks. Is there a cheaper alternative on missing for a 4 g extender that would allow me to keep this phone

Solved. Verizon sending 4g extender for free since the network won't support 6t on wifi.

Glad you got it solved. Also good tip for other users.
I know T-Mobile gives theirs out for free. ($25 deposit that instantly turns into bill credits). But it's good to see Verizon will give them out for free for users also.
