Is it possible to find an Untouched/Odexed 4.3 GE Rom? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Ive been looking around the forum for an untouched and odexed 4.3 ge rom, basically i want a rom thats plain google edition thats untouched, ie as it would be on the actual GE S4 (stock kernel and everything).
does such a thing exist? the i saw on android dev section of xda are usually modified, and deodexed, or otherwise they are old 4.3 leaks and development has been discontinued.
anyone else looking for something similar, does a rom like that even exist or am i going to have to make do with the modded ones?
-thanks for any replies. :good:

[Q] TW 4.2.2 vs GE 4.3 (custom roms)

Hello,
Seems there are a lot of TW vs AOSP/AOKP/GE threads but what I'm asking is for a custom TW 4.2.2 rom such as Goldeneye, Infamous, etc... vs GE 4.3 what is everyone running as their DD?
After trying a lot of the TW roms with KT Kernel it seems that no matter how fast you make your TW rom, the GE 4.3 Rom just has the increased smoothness mitigating any smidgen of lag. I really want to run GE as my DD but am conflicted of losing TW camera. I know that in the Sprint roms forum someone is working on a port of TW camera but until then what is your thought process?
Is speed/smoothness your #1 feature regardless?
Personally, I'm running Goldeneye 4.0 w/ Ktoonsez Kernel 7/26/13 at the moment
I came from a Galaxy Nexus and always ran AOSP based roms. However, with the S4 I am only using TW roms because I like a lot of the touch wiz features. If there was a way to keep them (such as smart stay/scroll, air view, etc) I would probably go back to AOSP. Though I'll probably end up going back to AOSP when Key Lime Pie comes out because I won't be patient enough to wait for samsung to come out with their 5.0 update.

That is a great point, I think if Key Lime Pie came out and only came out as a GE rom, I would jump ship immediately.

That port isnt for the 4.3 GE rom...its for the 4.2.2 GE rom.
4.2.2 GE roms still has touchwiz frakeworks which allows touchwiz applications to be ported and installed. In the 4.3 GE rom, those frameworks no lomger exist....making porting a much harder task as you would nit only need to port the camera but also the required frameworks...something that I dont think has ever been done

Definitely agree with that. Sorry should have made it clear that I want some opinions based on never being a TW Camera port on GE roms.
My .02
I've had the S3, Note 2, and now the S4 and always rooted and custom ROMs. I always steered clear of the non TW ROMs for one reason, the camera was sub par. The 4.3 that was ported and recently removed (Per copyright issues) is what I'm on now, and it's hands down the best phone experience I've ever had. It's smooth, stable, simple and blazes the phone! Out of the box, the only change I had to make was to the APN to get AT&T LTE. You simply can't go wrong with this rom, even giving up the fancy schmancy gestures and such..

Are you sure about this? GE4.3 still has functioning S-View. Wouldn't S-View be dead (Like in CM) if the TW framework was not included?

Stock Android 4.3 for TW Galaxy S4?

Just checking in...but are we waiting for the official release of 4.3 for the Google Edition of the S4 to get the official release? The ROMs seem to be still based on the leaks...

I think so, all 4.3 are Nexus based or leaked GE atm

Ok...I'm bumping this back up since everything seems to have been released. Is there a clean version out there? It still seems cloudy based on the threads I see.
What you see is what exists.

[Q] Upgrading to Android 4.4 KitKat

Hello. Quick question. I got my Galaxy S4 from at&t and removed the stock TouchWiz ROM and put in the official Google Edition Android 4.3 ROM from the Galaxy S4 i9505G (I believe that model is the Google Play edition S4). I just wanted to know since I have the official Google Edition stock ROM on my at&t Galaxy S4, will I get the update for 4.4 KitKat? Please let me know if a question I am asking is already out in the forms. Other than that, let me know with an answer to this question.
The official 4.3 ota isnt out yet for our we have a long way to go unless someone delevops it

I believe the OTA wouldn't work, or may brick your device. I'd wait for someone to build it so it doesn't try and replace your bootloader or anything

No. Do not take the official 4.4 update. It may brick your phone. Wait for the devs to make a cwm flashable ROM and then flash that.

The stock OTA in the GPE rom shouldn't even work on our SGH-1337 devices, and if it somehow did manage to work it would probably soft-brick the device. Just wait until 4.4 builds come out for custom roms, it'll probably take a couple months to see a stable release but it'll be worth the wait. On a side note, there is a thread laying around here somewhere with some of the 4.4 apps ripped off a Nexus 5 that will run and function correctly on the 4.2.2 - 4.3.1 builds. I'm using the 4.4 keyboard and I find it a lot more accurate with swipe. :good:
Alright. Now I know. I will definitely wait for the ROMs then.
Thank you so much everyone for answering my question.

[Q] SGH-I337 with NI1 ROM clarification HELP

I wanted to verify what I have been reading about my SGH-I337 with NI7 correctly.
Am I stuck using Only TouchWiz based Roms?
I wanted to change it to something like SLimBean, or a base version of Android and get away from TouchWiz.
I've had no luck in the past trying to change it, and then I read the TouchWiz Only info somewhere on XDA.
Just looking for clarification on this. Thanks in advance. Sorry if this has been asked specifically before.
Cheers.

You can only use Safestrap custom recovery, and you can only get Touchwiz and the few working GPE's in our development section. No Slimbean, CM, AOKP, PA, etc.

No Stock rooted, trimmed up rom yet?

Hi guys I'm surprised we haven't seen any stock rooted roms yet? I understand that it is already as close to stock as possible but coming from Nexus 6 I'm used to seeing some odexed and deodexed roms with the fat trimmed that are a little more snappy... Any comments welcomed.
Maybe they are waiting on the factory image to be released by Moto. Tool.
They'll be in the development section when they're ready. There's not a whole lot of need for another thread asking where they are.
