After I have upgraded my bootloader and radio to JWR66V using the factory image. Can I still use the 4.2 rom such as cm10?

But will there any impact or improvement if I use 4.3 bootloader and radio on 4.2 rom?

I upgraded the bootloader and radio, tried all the many variations of 4.3.
Went back to 4.2.2 and have had zero problems.

If you have not upgraded to the stock JWR66V ROM, you must upgrade the radio before you can flash a 4.3 custom ROM. If you have upgraded to the stock JWR66V ROM, you can flash back to a 4.2.2 ROM and keep the .84 radio and makoz20i bootloader without encountering problems.

Eventually you're going to have to upgrade the bootloader. At least that's what molesarecomming said in his thread. Not so much with 4.3 but when KLP comes out you will.
I did mine because I was flashing P.A Ver 3.97 and it's says you have to flash new loader and radio to run the Rom. Or before you go posting that you're having issues at least.
The .84 radio has better performance, reception improved WIFI and battery life.
I average around 4 hours of ST a day with out any problems on it...but there are always factors that can sway battery life other than the radio.
You can always flash the Hybrid .33/.84 and have the best of both worlds...LTE and all the good things .84 brings with it.

Do I need to flash the hybrid one in order to get the LTE? stock 4.3 bootloader has already comes with lte?

only the radios that ends with .27 or .33 are cabable to use LTE. the hybrid ones were designed to provide the best of two worlds as mentioned already above. So, most likely it would be recommended to use one of the hybrid ones for using LTE. try which one gives you the best results when it comes to recepetion, wifi perfomance etc.
the bootloader has nothing to do with all of that. Though use the latest one (bootloader-mako-makoz20i.img) would be the best advice. Regardless if u are using android 4.2.2 or 4.3

LTE is done through your radio not the bootloader and is disabled on all radios after .33
No you don't have to flash the hybrid to get LTE but you will need a .27/.33 radio then edit your buil.prop file to enable it.
That link earlier was to an AIO the does everything that needs to be done.
Only thing you might have to do is the *#*#4636#*#* then manually tell it LTE everything is in that link.
I've got it to work on every rom I've flashed.
Only thing is at least from my experiences is that if your on LTE it does use a little more battery...but so worth it IMO

I have a question, that I've had trouble finding the answer to.
Is there a need to flash a new radio to my phone? Are there benefits to flashing a new one?
I currently use my N4 with Straight Talk (AT&T).
Thanks.

Depends. If you are updating your rom to 4.2.2, it's probably a good idea to flash the corresponding radio as well. If you are on 4.2.1, there are reports of incompatibility with 4.2.2 radio, so don't update. Otherwise, different radios may give you better signal/connection speeds, but it's hard to say.
Also, 4.2.2 radio disables lte, but since you're on straight talk it doesn't matter.
Do the ROMs not flash the appropriate radio for the android version? I updated to 4.2.2 before flashing MoDaCo, so do I have the correct radio?

No, ROMs generally contain only the kernel and system images. Updated bootloader and basebands need to be flashed separately.
Edit: The above applies to custom ROMS. If you flashed stock 4.2.2, you may have the updated radio. You can check by going into settings->about phone->baseband version. For 4.2.2, the number should end in 48, 4.2.1 ends in 33.

Great. So I do have the correct one for 4.2.2. Are there different versions for the same ROMs, or do we only need to make sure we have the correct radio for the version of android we have?

Radio and bootloader version are generally linked with your Android version. AFAIK, no one makes custom radios/bootloaders, so they're always stock.

No one make custom radios/bootloaders because they're closed source. Its impossible to make a custom radio/bootloader unless you are LG/Google (and its respective manufacturers for that phone).
Has any found an image with Android 4.2.2 but with the 4.2.1 Baseband?
My connection/service has been horrible since the update. I went back to 4.2.1 just to see, and sure enough connection/service was great.
I would like to update to 4.2.2 but I need the Baseband from 4.2.1 so I won't constantly loose my connection/service.
I'm running stock and with no intentions of rooting, so If root is require to have a different baseband within 4.2.2 then I guess I'll be stuck on 4.2.1 for good.
Thanks for any help given, its much appreciated.
Edit: Nevermind, got it.. I just flashed the radio img through fastboot (required quick unlock, then lock)

There's no stock ROM with the combination you want. Though haven't you tried flashing the .33(4.2.1 baseb) while on 4.2.2?

Yeah, I did. Shortly after posting...
when I first tried to do a search for the .33 (4.2.1) Baseband I came up empty handed, but changed a couple search terms and got it right away...
Thank for the info though..
Its ridiculous how much the Baseband (radio) from 4.2.2 messes with service connection.
Im sitting at my office desk, when baseband from 4.2.2 was being used I got maybe 3 bars of service, but mostly just 2 bars (and would drop - grey out - every now and then)
Now when using the Baseband from 4.2.1 (.33) in the 4.2.2 update, I gave full service... drops to 3 for a second, but goes right back to all 4 quickly
The option for LTE in phone information was disabled in 4.2.2
Is there anyone working on a stock 4.2.2 rom with LTE Enabled?
Me and a few of my friends are looking for this for our phones
otherwise were forced to downgrading back to 4.2.1
Sorry I didnt notice where I was posting this, hopefully this is moved to >>> Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Also would flashing the radio from 4.2.1 enable it?
i think it is more of a radio thing. if you use either .27 or .33 radios then you can access the LTE. i did have a problem with paranoidandroid on tmobile where both of those radios would work and give me LTE but i lost audio in call. i am now running trailblazerz11 rom with .27 radio and i have audio in call and LTE.

Just flash older version of radio image on any ROM (stock works too I believe) via fastboot and you should be good to go

I'm not quite clear on whether you can use a newer radio on an older ROM. As far as I can tell, I should be able to, but I just want to make sure I'm not just misreading the various posts about radios. Most posts talk about downgrading to older radios but not many talk about upgrading to a newer one. I would like to try out LTE in my area and see how it goes but since the N4 is my daily driver, I don't want it out of commission too long because I tried something I shouldn't.
I'm not quite as familiar with flashing Radios. I'm quite comfortable flashing recoveries or new roms, but flashing radios is a new one for me. The exact question I have is - Can I flash one of the new "hybrid" radios from HERE (I'm not sure whether the .27/84 hybrid or .33/84 hybrid will work better for me so I plan to try both) and have it be alright on my current ROM? I'm currently running Paranoid Android 3.6, Android 4.2.2.
Also - is there a post that someone knows about that can give me some more detail about where Radios fit in with all the other "pieces" (ie Recovery, Kernel, Boot Loader, etc)? I'd like to learn more about it.
Thanks,
Zeustopher
yes, you can. ive been using the .27 hybrid radio since yesterday, and it works great on 4.2.2 and lte. and ive even seen better data speeds since. my lte topped off under 29mbps download before yesterday. after, i now top off just under 33mbps download

Hey everyone, I have just tried to get LTE working on my Nexus 4 on fido. It didn't work (I think I need to swap out my sim card for the fido lte one) The hybid radio modem seems to be draining my battery quite fast and I have not had a consistent signal. I want to flash back to the stock one, but not sure what one I should be using. Can anyone help?

.84 is the version released with 4.3. You can get it by downloading the stock image from google, or from the Nexus 4 Radio's thread.
