Trying to get Camera from 5.0.2Hr5

Hi there,
I tried running the Camera from Haykuro's build on my image.
After copying libcamera.so libqcamer.so and libcameraservice.so to /system/lib and changing the Camera.apk in /system/app my Camera and Camcorder disapperead, somebody can tell me the trick?
I don't know what image you are running, but it isn't that simple. The HTC camera.apk requires lots of htc frame work libraries to work. You will have to edit and repack your own boot image to include the com.htc*.jar libraries into class path, and the add and replace some of those libraries to your image. It will require lots of time to test and debug what is missing. It definitely isn't as simple as replacing few .so files and the apk. By the way I couldn't get it to work either but I gave up when I realized I had to rebuild boot.img. Haykuro will probably be able to get it to the adp 1.5 image soon.
I have read somewhere where Haykuro posted this to use H build cam. He did state that it's not quite 100% working and that he'll add this to the new 1.5H build.
adb shell reboot recovery
adb shell mount /system
adb shell rm /system/app/Camera.apk
adb shell rm /system/lib/*cam*.so
adb push libcamera.so /system/lib
adb push libcameraservice.so /system/lib
adb push libqcamera.so /system/lib
adb push Camera.apk /system/app
adb push HTC_Gallery.apk /system/app
adb shell reboot

Hi there,
Thanks for your replay.
I got cam working but got bad problems with force close everytime I try to make some settings. After some tries the camera won't come back up again, what I did:
copy system/lib/*cam* to my build
Camera.apk
HTC_gallery.apk
modified /system/etc/permission/platform.xml for finding the pimlib.

If you wouldn't mind, send me your platform.xml ([email protected]) I'm 90% sure I know how to fix it to work. Db files are usually the root of all force closes. Settings, acore, messaging... if you have a db with variables that don't exist or missing ones that were added to the apk a crash occurs. I am pretty sure I know what files to fix and we can pack an apk for this...
Hey Twistedumbrella,
thank for your answer and your help, I just sent the xml file.
I am very excited...
Regards
I'd love to get the HTC camera working on the JF 1.5 build. All the camera image adjustments were great. Lemme know if you need someone to test things.
Please Post The steps & Platform.xml Whatever U Did
I am Gona Make A Seperate Thread Of All The apps Ported From Haykuro's Sapphire Builds To JF 1.5
I have Currently Ported The H-Virtual Keyboard To JF 1.5
Yeah i have been waiting for someone to do this...
if you need tester i will gladly do it... =D
ATM I wait for twistedumbrella, he got the cam working but I am completly stuck with this thing.
H cam will make photos but if I try to configure something the cam close forces all the time.

Packing it into an update and testing as we speak
I got the force close problem.
Does anyone find out how to fix it ?
I am running JF 1.5, I push all the .so files also add files into /system/framework
and replace the platform.xml with the one online said for the JF 1.5 HTC app.
The camera will run into a Gray mode, and if I clicked on any icons it will show "force closed"....

Please help me out this is one of the final steps to my Rom ?
You symlink it? When you w want it to work for the rom you need to give it permissions and everything I think

So far it looks like your on the correct track.
The only thing that the zip does aside from that is create a sym link from /system/xbin/su to /system/bin/su and changes the permissions of the su file in system/xbin/su
i don't know how to do that while integrating into a rom, but once you set the proper permissions and the sym link it, it "looks" like everything should work.
Good luck and hope it helps.

MIUI camera.apk for CM7 ...[Jun 26][CyanogenMod]SMod 1.0[2.3.4][PASSION]

I am a newbie here.
For those who is interested.
there is a recent CM7 SMod 1.0 ROM [link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1142439]
I was interested in the MIUI Camera. What i have done is i downloaded the rom, extracted the MIUIcamera.apk, using root explorer; move the apk to /system/app, change the permission and reboot. [off course you can the alternative adb push method]
everything work fine, but sigh....
720p video recording not supported.
credit goes to sokolik315, CM dev and off course MIUI dev
MIUICamera.apk
by the way here is the MIUIcamera.apk for those who want it
Working well on my N1 with CM7 nightly #113 (with DarkTremor Apps2SD).
Just a couple of notes, for clarification:
- No need to rename this apk, copy it as is to /system/app
- If you're using Root Explorer, long-click the app and choose "Permissions" from the popup menu...Then check-enable EVERYTHING from the options that come up (or if you know exactly what you're doing, just the ones that are needed).
- After reboot, you'll now have 2 apps called 'Camera' in your apps list. The one with the white border on the icon is the MIUI Camera!
A few "kinks" and gotchas to expect with this:
- On my N1, the text in the settings is too large and is either cut-off or is funky formatted. I can still get to all the items though.
- The zoom doesn't seem to work via screen-press, but rather having to use the trackball
Thanks for yoinking this!
Thank you both. I had no idea there was a nicer camera app available, I think I'll be keeping this one (and upgrading it if those font bugs are fixed and/or 720p is added.)
I tried to install the MIUI Camera, but when I copy/move it using RootExplorer, it does not seem to show up under system/app under "Camera.apk" or "MiuiCamera.apk" or "miui.apk". It's like nothing happened. The file remains in the origin (my Dropbox folder) on the SD card even though it said "pasting".
Any advice?
Coldside... do u have root?
Put the file posted in your sd card.
Open rootexplorer copy the apk, go to system app, tap on "Mount R/W/" and paste the file. Then keep pressed the apk, tap permissions and give these permissions:
V V ⃞
V ⃞ ⃞
V ⃞ ⃞
Reboot
Yep I have root. I'm running CM7.0.0 on my Desire (Yes I know this is in the Nexus One forums but I googled and I didn't realize after I posted).
RootExplorer 2.16 has Superuser rights also. I mounted it to RW because when it's still in RO, you can't paste.
EDIT: I just realized my phone is S-ON. My guess is that it needs to be S-OFF? If I require S-OFF for this, do I need to wipe my phone and root it again? Thanks.
thanks, i have the miui camera up and working
the only problem i have is there is no front facing camera option and the photo taking is buggy
guess its not made for the mytouch4g
Not work on my Redmi 4x with LineageOs
Edited: Work. Thanks!

do i need to have xrecovery installed?
The simpliest way to install CWM is to plug your phone with debugging mode to your PC and run DMR.bat from this file. More information you'll find in this post.
Thanks. It works

Mount r/w for /system in root explorer and then copy the files over. GingerDX does not need CWM recovery, it only needs xRecovery to install. So root your x8, install xRecovery, backup phone, full wipe, install GingerDX, wipe cache and dalvik-cache and then reboot. Tada! GingerDX will be running on your phone.
Tada! MD5 missmatch? Did you know how to fix it? Thx again
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
Search for "md5 mismatch" on xda.
By the way:
When did you get this?
Because you can get this only when you flash a ROM/backup that consists of syste.img, data.img, cache.img and nandroid.md5 and GingerDX is in an update.zip, so it´s only a .zip-file that contains the /system-folder and a script that makes it flashable in a recovery, so you can´t get a md5 mismatch on this.
hey bro you need xrecovery version 0.1 and you flash it try first a Ginger DX v09 like i d then upgrade ginger dx have clockowrmod installed you can reboot in it i will post a link
Latest versions of GingerDX for X8 need CWM
and I have xRecovery installed on my stock rom. I would update first to CWM my phone and then install GingerDX v016...what I should do? I don't want to brick my phone! Anyone could explain me the correct procedure? Thanks

Flash dualboot with xrecovery then you will have cwm and xrecovery at the same time. You can find dualboot.zip from the multiboot thread

CyanogenMod 11 No full permission to edit build.prop or move data to system

Dear,
Sorry if i post this thread wrong but i can't post on the Development page YET because i don't have 10 post...
My question is how can i get full permission on 4.4 on my device.
I already rooted and downloaden SU but i cant Update because it saids Remounting /system as rw.. Failed!
The ROM i downloaded is cm-11-20131115-UNOFFICIAL-galaxysmtd.zip inculding gapps gapps-kk-20131113.
The reason i want the full permission is because @pawitp said something about RAM mode so i need to edit the build.prop but i cant because my system is mouthed to rwxr-xr-x (0755). And ofcourse i want to change the bootanimation etc.
I hope you guys could help me out.
Friendly kinds,
(Sorry for my bad English)
There is no need to edit build.prop file in cm-11-20131115 as it is the second version released by @pawitp and he already edited that in this version.
If you still want to update, then:
1. Flash/install the latest superSU.
2. Open superSU app from app menu.
3. Now install and open the root explorer
4. It will ask for root permission, check the always option and click on grant
5. Now as it (Root explorer) is closed, reopen it.
6. Mount the system r/w.
7. Now do whatever you want and enjoy
