It is the memory requirements for this application that has forced the company to discontinue any new versions/updates and provide the last one for free without any support.
They stated "at this point in time WM devices can't handle the next level we want to take our software. So instead of producing an application that does not meet our standards we have decided to pull it from the market"
Perhaps more of an excuse for the software developers not being able to work within the constraints of current PDA limits- who knows.
Right you are... eats up about 6mb of memory. But still I enjoy showing it off to my buddies. I'm not sure if this can be installed and run from a storage card. Will do tomorrow.
Hey, if you want your PDA to look like Windows, use Windows

Have you tried to create a webpage from the screen of the PDA??
I would actually make use of your TSC program had I a suitable device- unfortunately still stuck with JAM- no point of term. services via bluetooth!
Wouldn't mind having one of those up and coming mini-tablet style devices that are due to run the full blown version of XP though.
I'd like to have an OQO or something Unfortunately even the Universal's screen becomes too much work on the eyes after a while. Such a dilema: want a big (VGA) screen, want a small phone. Not gonna happen.
I don't think I'd like an OQO day to day, but nice in bed. But yes, VJFullscreenTSC could be used to write webpages from the Uni.
As I understand it, Experience is a flash app isn't it?

[APP] Myphone Microsoft Online Backup 200mb

The service is available today.
Basically it consists of a password-protected web site and an on-device application, which together will help you back-up, restore, and manage your mobile phone data. If you’ve ever wanted to save your text messages, hated re-entering all your contact information when you bought a new phone, or wished you could easily archive some of your pictures, then I think you’re about to be happy. From the main site, getting started is as simple as entering your Windows Live ID. After you’re signed in to the web site, you’ll need to download the application to your Windows Mobile phone. You can either navigate to an installation link using your phone’s browser or you can have a link text messaged to your phone.

}
Once the application is installed on your phone, setting things up is pretty easy.
You’ll need to enter your Windows Live ID and select your synchronization method, but after that the application does pretty much everything for you.
By default, My Phone synchronizes contacts, calendar appointments, tasks, photos, videos, text messages, music, and documents that are stored on the device.
If you want to synchronize items from a storage card you’ll need to change your My Phone settings, but it is possible. For more specifics on what can and can not be synchronized, see the My Phone information page.

if you look at the my phone twitter account, they post promo codes. Otherwise you'll have to wait. Luckily for me, I got into it because I signed up before MWC Bacelona.

[Tutorial] Internal Testing of Phone

The easiest way to check a phone about its various functions or failure of such function is to use its own embedded testing .apk
How to access them is not normally Known to many
All you have to do is
1) Long Press your Desktop
2) Touch shortcuts
3) Touch Activities
4) And you can select activity of any application on your phone ( which has its own pulled down menu to chose from)
By selecting one you will have a shortcut of it placed in your desktop
so all you have to do is now touch that shortcut and its appropriate menu will open for you to test or select from
see screen-shots below
Assuming you have problems with USB connections, Blue tooth, WIFI, Network settings, whatever your phone is supposed to do, can be checked this way including running a ping test etc

If you are using XDA App or Tapatalk, long press on the post and select :good: Thanks Its easier to give "Feedback" in this manner than make an additional post.
Direct shortcuts to activities can be quite useful. One of my main uses is to get access to the fullscreen feeds and updates widget (there is also an activity that allows you to select a few themes for it).
You do however need a launcher such as Launcherpro or Apex launcher installed to get this in the shortcut menu.
Thankyou so much for this insight, I spent 2 years wondering what this option was for and it never crossed my mind to actually try it

You are welcome, seems so simple and right in-front of us to get into the phone, yet little known or used

I was of course teasing you

Fancy a new start screen? Try this!

Lets just make this a general thread, because I've put some work in to this for a couple months and I wasn't too sure what to do with it over in /w/, but here it will get a good following and might be able to do the same at WPCentral.
Feel free to post yours, as I've not done this yet, but it's on my to-do list!
Anyways, I'll start by linking my pastebin and attaching a picture that sums everything else up.
Please note this also includes WP7 for people who might have gotten one as a hand-me-down/free phone.

Also If you have an ATIV S, ATIV S NEO, or an ATIV Odyssey, you can set your own custom accent colors by using SamWP8 Tools and flipping over to the tweak tab. (You must be InteropUnlocked for this to work!)
(Here's a good example! http://forums.wpcentral.com/windows-phone-8/201935-79.htm#post2307799)
Here's some examples taken from the latest thread!
Okay... Just two for now, but the rest are saved in my skydrive link below! (they were too big to be uploaded to the forum!)

Oke i cant leave behind, here a view of mine.
my setup
Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk, sorry for the excessive amount of spaces. its a bug in tapatalk.
Hey I was able to install UCBrowser from
@thal1992
http://pastebin.com/LGrYGGzz :UC Browser - Jailbreak edition - This app is actually an external web browser that works like Opera Mini, but you can install xaps with it.

on my 928. The browser is fully functional and when downloading a .xap file instead of the enterprise apps error I get the trust UCBrowser in WP7 RootTools. No interop cap in the WMAppManifest (not my doing, downloaded this way)yet there is a separate InteropManifest. If only we could put to use the ComXapHandler and WP7RootToolsSDK .dll's contained in the app in the manner they were created for... Any ideas?

Turn Your Old Android Into a Kid Safe Device

Turn Your Old Android Into a Kid Safe Device
Last week was my sons birthday party. He turned six so I decided he was old enough to receive a tablet as a present. I'd rather pry my fingernails off than drop a couple hundred bucks on the kid so I figured I'd just hook him up with my old Android tablet that I don't use anymore. He loved it! Skip three weeks ahead and he's racked up $500 in Play store charges and somehow managed to purchase a mail-order bride...
So before you hand down your old Android devices to the younglings, here are some precautions you should take to make sure that it's child-proof.
Factory reset
Obviously you're going to want to get all of your files off of there just to be safe. Do a back up and then factory reset. Don't forget to wipe that internet storage as well!
Start a new Gmail account
Even if you lock your tablet down nice and tight you don't want to risk the chance of you child being able to access your gmail or any accounts associated with it. So start by creating a throwaway account that isn't connected to any payment methods or phone numbers. Create the account on your desktop to bypass the phone verification requirement.
Remove any SIM card wipe APN settings
Pop out any SIM card that may be in there just in case there is any service attached to it. Wipe the APN settings to be sure there wont be a mobile data connection. You should also know that on both CDMA and GSM phones, even if they don't have service on them they can still dial 911. You can block out the dialer app with a custom launcher.
Install a custom launcher
Now install a custom launcher to limit the applications that your child will have access to. There are plenty to choose from and lots of great options. Here are a few of the most popular.

Kid's Shell - kids mode
Kids Place - Parental Control
Kids Space Launcher
Buy a tough case
Now just head over to Amazon and buy a case that will withstand the abuse of a kid. Children will find a way to turn anything into a weapon.
Now you can rest easy knowing that your kid can't get into any trouble on their tablet.
