Hi guys, my Defy doesn`t recognize the battery after a unsuccessful flash.
I took it to the assistence and now if I take the battery of, plug into the USB, I can go to the Bootloader (I'll see the Low Battery advice) and waiting some seconds the phone turns on and the battery marker is with a question mark, if I put it on nothing heapends.
I've tried a lot of things including the MacMyver method and no sucess. So please help me.

hi,please move if in wrong place, im running rcmix hd rom and wanted to calibrate my battery.
it says to charge fully while phone is on until green led which i have done,
it then says to power off phone and charge until green led but this is the bit where im stuck.
because i have clockworkmod, when i power off phone and charge, the recovery menu comes up???
i have been charging while supposedly off for last 3 hours, my led is orange but is my phone off??
i shouldnt have thought it would take that long to charge a powered off phone cos i charged it fully while it was on??
so if anyone can explain what i need to do that would be good, or if anyone knows of another way to calibrate my battery without having to charge it while off that would be handy too, thanks
Try the new modded recovery with full shutdown, no more auto clockwork start

Yea sure, here is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1027835
I'd pick the 3.0.2.4_r1. It flashes like a rom in cwm, then just reboot recovery. But now to access recovery from turn off you have to boot into fastboo first, vol down+power
Thanks for the link ;-)
Ok so I just flash it like a rom and reboot, and that gives me the ability to charge while completely off??
And if I need recovery then I just go into fastboot mode?
Thanks mate

Pretty much, you can try it out easy. Flash, then go to advanced>reboot recovery and make sure it says 3.0.2.4_r1 then press power off and plug in your charger

not that it matters as you are sorted, but phone does charge in CWR but you need to use a second party program i.e QtADB to monitor charging and delete battery stats only when it's at 100% charged.

thanks
what about the method whereby u use currentwidget to monitor the charge.
when it is at 0ma then reboot into cwm and wipe battery stats?
does that work too?

The idea of charging it whilst off is to ensure it is at 100% when the battery stats are wiped, with some phones they erroneously report fully charged when they arent, hence charge to 100% turn off charge to 100%, reboot and charge (to replenish charge used in rebooting) then wipe battery stats. People are worried that older CWRs would boot when phone was turned off making it hard to ascertain that 100% charge was attained.
so what is the correct method of resetting the battery stats?

yeah i noticed that too.
100% battery 0ma on current widget.
reboot into cwm, wipe battery stats and reboot.
once booted up it shows 99% but charge again and its at 100%.
have you tried the turning off method?

so the currentwidget 0ma method is not accurate?
cos it has been going around quite allot in the custom rom threads

It will work, but if you want the optimum results you must charge the phone back to 100% after rebooting before you delete the battery stats.
Dear friends,
I've a difference kind of problem (as I've searched the forum). My wildfire runs on stock rom (2.2). Not updated.
The problem is, even after fully charged, the phone works for merely 30 minutes.
After fully charged the battery shows 100% within 30 munites it comes to 10% and red colour then goes off. If switched on again the battery shows 100% and then the same process. I tried battery calibration too. Nothing helping.
Any of you can help me in solving this?
Thanking you in advance.
Battery weared as far as I know.
Faced this issue with other phones. Definitely it is a battery problem. If u speak on a call with this battery, the phone gets switched off instantly. And when using phone plugged into wall charger, it works fine.
Try to confirm it by checking with friends batteries if u find any.

Exactly.
But pls confirm it before purchasing a new battery. I maybe wrong too.
EDIT : if there are any applications that show the percentage of battery wear, they might help u . Try for those too.

Thanks a lot for your info. I will.
If you have clockwork recovery, try wiping the battery data. ( it could be called battery stats. I cant remember the exact name). See if that helps.
But as others suggested, it maybe a battery problem. Just worth a shot.

OK. I will try and thanks
Also, when wiping bat stats, chrge the phone for about 4 hours so that it's 100%
OK, thanks.
Since i had flashed the cm7 version of marcellusbe my phone didnt fully charge. First it said that its on 100% charged. When i closed the charging processing by removing the (idk cable?) It jumped down to 50% i thaught its a cm7 prob. But later i did flash anoter rom with XXJPQ amd now, ive got the same problem again... can somebody akmegow help me please.. i want to go out without looking at the phone where stands 1% ... please help me..

I would suggest
Switch off your mobile and charge your fone till you see 100% on your screen, then switch on, keep charging till you get a notification that it's fully charged. When you finally get that notification, quickly run the battery calibration tool. I hope this solves your battery problem.
Im gonna try it, thank u very much

Good evening,
First of all sorry for my English
So far, my Galaxy Y functioned very well... I've flashed the Creed v3.5 ROM and everything worked good!
Three days before, my son threw it down and it was opened to 3 pieces (main device, battery and back cover). Off course it wasn't the first time...
Since then, something is wrong with battery.
I fully charge it and when I do 2-3 calls, the battery discharging to 32%!!
When the phone turns off and I connect it to charger, the battery level seems to be above 60% and charges in approximately 1 hour.
I've tried reinstalling rom (stock or custom), recalibrate battery but nothing works.
Is it a coincidence and my battery is dead or the issues occured due to the fall?
Thanx
Install Stock Kernel
Then install Savie Kernel
Problem will be solved
try fly-on script, it will safe battery life

I've decided to follow aniket.lamba's advice because it was too much easier than the DroidFolks advise.
About dv6661 reply, I don't know how to do it...

I've installed the All in One zip, but with no result.
During installation, I've checked all the options that I had... Correct?

Although before he buys a new battery, I suggest he try using another battery from another SGY. It seems weird that a battery can be destroyed just by falling down.

Hi !
i have a Galaxy S4 i9505, and yesterday something really strange happened. I left my phone charging overnight on my pc and in themorning it wasnt charged it had only 3% left and after the battery has drained the phone shut down, and then POOF! it won't charge and turn on no sign of life no LED no vibration, nothing. i tried a new battery nothing happened tried different charger and full battery and nothing seems to fix it. so i used a galaxy mini 2 waiting to find a fix for this and the same thing happened to the mini i left it plugged into my pc and the next day no sign of life. it's very strange. just to let ou know that i dont charge my phone on the pc this is the first time i leave it plugged in and when plugged it says that it's charging but somehow it stops and kills the phone . PLEASE help !
ROM and bootloader used?
Current from pc is very low and your mobile might have use more than it due to background process and hence your phone might have slowly discharged instead of being charged.
Try charging from a wall charger for a few minutes and then try to boot it.

But also it shouldnt be discharged by backgroung process. It is really wierd. Maybe you can see in the battery stats to find which app is using this and freeze it. Use battery doctor to kill apps when the screen is turned off.

Hi, thanks for the answers but i tried all of that and i can't get even the s4 logo to show nor the LED or any sign of life, i even tried a full battery and nothing happens it's not the power button since it don't show anything when plugged into a charger, the saaame thing happened to the other phone. the ROM is omegadroid and whats a bootloader ?? a phone repair guy told me that he can flash from a port inside the phone that needs some soldering, he told me that it's the way samsung flashes the os when the phone is empty and just got out of the factory is this true ? WTH is going on with this phone :crying: and also could it be some kind of virus that kills android phones just when booting because the phone was okay after unpluging it from the pc the problem happened when the battery drained and it shut down after that it wont turn on ! i'm sure that if i plugged the phone to a charger before the battery drained it would be still running now.
What is the warranty status of the phone?.
The guy is talking about jtag/riff box.
Also try not to use the word POOF" as it means homosexual where I live. There may be ones on the forum that could take offence.

I had a similar problem about six months ago.
I don't know if this will help but I found that by disconnecting the battery, leaving the phone for approx. 10 Min, reconnect the battery, then connect wall charger (but do not attempt to turn on). I found that after about 10 - 20 mins the phone started to charge (really slowly, it took about 8 hours to completely charge). Only after this did I attempt to turn it on and it seems to have been fine since.
Hope this helps.
