[Q] Battery Issue - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Good evening,
First of all sorry for my English
So far, my Galaxy Y functioned very well... I've flashed the Creed v3.5 ROM and everything worked good!
Three days before, my son threw it down and it was opened to 3 pieces (main device, battery and back cover). Off course it wasn't the first time...
Since then, something is wrong with battery.
I fully charge it and when I do 2-3 calls, the battery discharging to 32%!!
When the phone turns off and I connect it to charger, the battery level seems to be above 60% and charges in approximately 1 hour.
I've tried reinstalling rom (stock or custom), recalibrate battery but nothing works.
Is it a coincidence and my battery is dead or the issues occured due to the fall?
Thanx

Install Stock Kernel
Then install Savie Kernel
Problem will be solved

try fly-on script, it will safe battery life

battery issue
First of all, thank you for your replies.
I've decided to follow aniket.lamba's advice because it was too much easier than the DroidFolks advise.
About dv6661 reply, I don't know how to do it...
@aniket.lamba:
I've installed the All in One zip, but with no result.
During installation, I've checked all the options that I had... Correct?

Check the init.d folder. If the tweaks files are there,it means you have successfully flashed the tweak package. As for example see my init.d folder in ss.

Although before he buys a new battery, I suggest he try using another battery from another SGY. It seems weird that a battery can be destroyed just by falling down.

Increased battery drainage after sim card change

I recently changed my sim card and have noticed that my battery seems to drain more even on custom roms which claim to have great battery. It is killing me inside to not be able to overcome this. Please Help!!!

yup did using app and without
Battery draining did happen to me too. To get rid of this,
1.Odin back to JFD
2.Flash back the custom rom
3.Charge it to 100%(if its switched off, use CWM to wipe battery stats, if its on use the battery calibration app)
4.Let the battery drain itself out
5.Then charge it again and use it as you normally do.
The battery should not be draining as much as before just after step 3.
From experience, coz my battery drained like 1% per 5mins maybe coz of flashing many roms, but works fine now.

ok So how do I fix this? My daily habits havent changed so there shouldnt be an increased usage. And I have data turned off most of the time.
Get juice defender and set it up for data when sleeping. It will help. Just get it from the toxic baby rom. Open the zip on your computer and extract the app, put on sd and install. Not flashable

Battery problem (a new kind)

Dear friends,
I've a difference kind of problem (as I've searched the forum). My wildfire runs on stock rom (2.2). Not updated.
The problem is, even after fully charged, the phone works for merely 30 minutes.
After fully charged the battery shows 100% within 30 munites it comes to 10% and red colour then goes off. If switched on again the battery shows 100% and then the same process. I tried battery calibration too. Nothing helping.
Any of you can help me in solving this?
Thanking you in advance.
Battery weared as far as I know.
Faced this issue with other phones. Definitely it is a battery problem. If u speak on a call with this battery, the phone gets switched off instantly. And when using phone plugged into wall charger, it works fine.
Try to confirm it by checking with friends batteries if u find any.

Exactly.
But pls confirm it before purchasing a new battery. I maybe wrong too.
EDIT : if there are any applications that show the percentage of battery wear, they might help u . Try for those too.

Thanks a lot for your info. I will.
If you have clockwork recovery, try wiping the battery data. ( it could be called battery stats. I cant remember the exact name). See if that helps.
But as others suggested, it maybe a battery problem. Just worth a shot.

OK. I will try and thanks
Also, when wiping bat stats, chrge the phone for about 4 hours so that it's 100%
OK, thanks.

Odd thing happened

Just got this phone like two or three days ago. Today when I pulled my phone out to use it it was dead, wouldn't turn on or anything. Pulled battery and then it powered up. Got the low battery alert. So here's my question on the photo i posted, what could of made the battery drop like that?
Sent from my at&t SGS2
whats the other screen like? what i mean screen on time, and how long awake its been on? cause if those two are on all the time that could make the battery drain...
try charging it to the fullest and calibrate it using a calibration app and see how that goes....
sorry if i cant suggest anything else...charge it to the max and calibrate it and see how you do after a few cycles

Screen was on not even two hours. Awake time was about the same. It was just odd that it dropped off like that. Last night I flashed the latest villain rom and its been ok but really haven't used it and I'm at 63% with 58 minutes screen on. I also did the calibrate battery, maybe I'll go in and clear battery stats next?

Since I flashed villain 2.5 its been better, hasn't done it since.(crossfingers)
Hmm, the link posted says about dolphin browser. Before I flashed 2.5 I used to get random restarts, haven't had any since the new flash that I know of. Maybe I'll try a different browser also.

Oh hey bbrad! I'm so glad u responded because I do infact have so many questions for you lol. I'm currently running your aokp unofficial 4.2.2 march 29 rom with the devil kernel and I love it! I just have bad battery drain issues even when I try to underclock, the battery drains badly. I tried to download the devil kernel manager to help sort out the issues but I can't get anything to stick after a reboot. I've tried searching for a solution but no luck. I have ran many of your roms they are my favorite to this day but I dont think I remember having bad battery drain on your other ones. Is there something i can do?
I even have a 3500mah extended battery and it doesnt make it through a day of work :/

oh thanks for telling me about the undervolting. I did not know I'll go back stock. its a brand new battery but it was one of those cheap ones from ebay.. I have 2 extended batteries and my original. i havent tried the rom on my original battery yet. I'm pretty sure I did a clean install.. you do that by wiping dalvik and partition cache right? I always wipe before I install anything but ill go back through everything when i get off work. I'm at learning about all that and now that im actually pasta on the forum i can learn a lot better lol
Ive heard that undervolting doesnt really help with battery life and any benefits would be only a few percent or minutes.
Most generics I bought on ebay died after a couple months. I would look on amazon for a 1800mah epic touch battery. You can find them on ebay but its a gamble if its real. I bought 2 1800s for about $28.
Fresh install would also include wiping data or a factory reset along with cache and davlik cache. Or you can clean install with odin and odin a custom recovery then re flash as before.

The best cheap extended battery is trexcell or however it's spelled. With heavy use (music, YouTube, downloads, instagram, twitter etc. ) I get about 8 hours. Light use over a day.

oh ok then undervolting is definitely out of the question for me then.. the ones I bought was about 10 bucks for the battery, back to phone, and the wall charger peice. they seem to work good but like u as they will probably go out soonish. about the clean install, I used heimdall to install a fresh fe29, then put my cwm fixed on there, did my wipes, installed an ics rom (dont remember which one atm) did more wipes and flashed aokp. did i forget anything?

Ya when they get that cheap there bound to be fakes or just poor quality. After going threw about 4 generics in about 6 months I just opted for a OEM 1800mah and am very happy with them. Well looks like you did plenty of wipping lol. You should be good to go.
Also if there is still battery drain try betterbatterystats and cpu spy to make sure nothing is using alot of back ground data and the phone is deep sleeping good.

Some of the stats on betterbatterystats are hard to understand but googleing most stats will help you find out what it is. Cpu spy just monitors how your cpu is being used and can help with deep sleep issues.
I get great battery life on a 1800 oem. I normally get threw a full day on it with over 4 or 5 hours of screen on time. I would also give greenify and ds battery saver a try, I have had great results with using those 2 together.

I don't want to hijack, but I also want to offer my sincere thanks to this group.
I bought 3 Fassys back in the day one for myself, my son and my daughter. Mine and my daughter's are happily running AOKP JB and loving these "old" phones. My son had a mishap with his and needed to replace it. As he didn't ask for my opinion and we're clinging to our unlimited data, he bought an LG Revolution to taste some 4G goodness, then brought the phone to his old ma for roots and roms.
I don't really know *anything*, I just know how to read XDA, but he thinks I'm the phone guru.
Anyway, I figured that a new 4G snapdragon phone must have some JellyBean ROMs available, so I wandered over to the Revolution forum.
*crickets*
I figured out how to root it, but had to hand it back to my son and tell him that his fancy new phone was stuck with Gingerbread as there's just no JB ROM for it yet. The Revolution development is as dead as a red wedding guest.
It just made me appreciate what an AMAZING community of developers we have here for the Fassy!! I could easily choose from a dozen good JB ROMs and I have every reason to believe that this old phone will be eating up some Key Lime Pie before she gives up the ghost and heads to that great back corner of a dresser drawer in the sky.
THANK YOU!! To everyone who keeps this community thriving.
THANK YOU!! To everyone who recognizes that we have a fine device here and isn't jumping at the chance to make it obsolete.
It's because of you that I can continue to be too cheap to buy a new phone and still keep my unlimited data and not feel like I'm missing out on the cool new flavors of Android.
This old mama really appreciates you all!!

[Q] Galaxy S4 Battery (I-9500) drains out quickly while playing Candy Crush

Hi,
I saw many folks are facing similar problems, but my problem is little different. Now a days whenever I play Candy Crush my S4's battery drains out very quickly i.e. 60-70% in the span of 5 - 10 minutes, also it gets charged up with equally fast (about 80 % in 10 min). My phone is just 3 months old...earlier there was no such problem. I haven't installed any new apps in between. Is it the problem with the battery or with the handset?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
The battery drain in almost time cause of software problems
But charging too fast Im saying it could problem with the battery it self

It's because from what I remember, battery callibration is not regulated at rom level. It's a chip inside the battery.
For example:
With the old HTC Desire you could wipe battery stats in the recovery.
For the Samsung Galaxy S2 this didn't have any effect because the chip inside the battery regulated the calibration.
From what I remember it's the same for the S4. If the calibration does not work (eg charging to 100%, taking the battery out, putting it back in, recharge again till 100%) then his battery is faulty. So unless he messed his rom up seriously, no wipe or other rom will help. His OS just reads the data from the chip.
