Typing on thid thing is super hard because mid typing all of a sudden when I press a single key it spits out a bunch of random letters at once. Idr if this only happens on Vanir rom or stock too. What's The issue here it makes serious typing on this new device almost impossible

Just tested with a multi touch yesterday and there are spots that register multiple fingers instead of just one or two.

I have this problem too, single tap = multi taps when I am typing eg. Nexxxus 7, very annoying.
Software problem or hardware??
Here's a thread full of people who are having the same issue.

Does anyone have problems with the android keyboard dissapearing? ?? And the only way to get it back is by restarting the phone?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I have several issues with the keyboard including the one you mentioned.
If I plug it in to charge it kind if messes with the calibration and when I'm tying it seems like the phone thinks I'm touching all other parts of the screen (like hitting the backspace will type P's in the text field)
I've also experienced something with the new m.Facebook where ill tap on text field and it'll open up the keyboard but it'll hide again. I have to try to open it sometimes more than 7 or 8 times before it stays open.
I'm thinking of unrooting it and taking it to best buy (I got the protection for it) I've just been lazy about it lol.

My keyboard will sometimes partly disappear and become unresponsive. It gets really weird when I switch the phone back and forth from landscape. The only way to fix it for me is to restart the phone.

If I use a third party charger from china to charge my Nexus S, the touchscreen goes crazy too lol. The original charger doesn't do that
The worse offense of the keyboard is still the double-letter glitch with the first letter of words (for "eexample"). Still rampant since 2.3.3.
If y'all want to add your recent experiences to the keyboard glitch report I filed with Google, please do: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=14755
I have the same issue. The keyboard will disappear and they will just be empty space where it was. If you remember where the buttons are u can still type its there u just can't see it (great, right! ) . I am running stock 2.3.3 and I have done a factory reset for that and other issues but it comes back. I have to turn the phone off and back on to resolve.... until it comes back at least. Happens at least once a week sometimes a lot more sometimes less. Either way, very annoying.
So, no, it's not just you.

Hi, wondering if others had similar problems or fixes.
After a while of use, the touchscreen becomes unprecise and quite unresponsive. For example, it becomes difficult to input strokes or use the keyboard. This problem disappears when I immediately sleep and reawake the device.
Any ideas?
Thanks!!!

There's already a thread for that.

I have been having the same issue. I really don't want to send it back.
Here is the other thread where this is being discussed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792722&highlight=touchscreen
I have the issue sometimes too. Nothing to write home about. I just turn off the screen and turn it right back on and it seems to work. For the money and performance this thing is my new love. I haven't turned on my laptop in 3 days.

Its strange, when typing i end up missing out letters in words. The thing is i have watched the keys when typing and every one of them glows blue like it should, but yet there are letters missing.
Anyone else get this?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Yes happens to me. I noticed if I kind of drag the letter it won't register. For example if you hold down a letter till its blue, then drag away and let go, it wont register for me. If I lift directly upwards, it registers the letter every time.

I have problems where it double types a letter too. But it's usually with different keyboards than stock

If you are one of few people with a nexus 4 where the very left centimeter of the screen (top to bottom) does not respond, you need to RMA. At first it wasn't a big deal to me, but after using swype from the playstore, the letter Q was unusable. I thought it was just a screen alignment issue, but it is an issue with the phone itself. It can be shown using pointer touches in developer options. This is a picture of how far I was able to go to the left edge before response quit. This video shows what the issue is compared to a regular nexus 4.

Here is what i'm talking about
That's awful and would drive me nuts! I know with PA I lose a few pixels because of Pie. But that can be turned off. Yours would make some things impossible.... Like typing words with q in

Yeah I chose to RMA, which is actually a valid reason to RMA.. **cough cough**

Randomly it seems, when I tap on the touchscreen on my new N7 2013, nothing happens, and I have to repeat the process several times before my touches are registered.
Does anyone else have this problem?

See my thread titled " Another touch issue, with reproducible steps".
Go into developer options and enable "Show touches" and "Pointer location"
If you see your touches registering but the app isn't responding, it is probably a problem with the app. If you see random stuff on the screen, probably a problem with the digitizer or digitizer in combination with the driver/software in this release.
Ive experienced this a few times and it seems to be a software /hardware interface issue with particular custom rom builds ive installed. I know the touchscreen hardware itself was fine when I forced reboot into recovery and the touchscreen worked as normal in custom recovery.

I wouldn't. If you had a Verizon Galaxy Nexus when it came out, you'll remember that it had the same issue with certain points on the screen (lower right hand corner) when using multi-touch applications. The entire screen would either stop seeing input or start going erratic and creating faulty inputs that weren't happening. It isn't a hardware issue, proven by some users experiencing it and some not. The only time I've experienced it is in the Netflix application while trying to choose a show to watch. I re-boot the application and viola, no more issue. Some in this thread even are stating that they only see the problem sometimes after getting the 4.3 update.
In short, it's software and not hardware.
Same issue when not touching with both hands somehow (like if the tablet is flat on a table).

Haven't had a problem with mine. I just got it today, and it's worked like a charm. I bought mine from Gamestop if that helps any.
