I haven't noticed this on mine. Make a titanium backup and wipe data cahe and install again ROM and gapps, there's a new pack of gapps from PA.

Me, just now.
Was unhappy with the scrolling (stuttery & laggy - to me it seemed like the touch sensor was being polled less because while your finger was touching & moving, the screen scroll stuttered, when released, it continued its scrolling smoothly)
Also, WiFi was sometimes not reconnecting - had to either reboot or forget / re-join.
also had an issue with the camera flash failing to operate after 3 or 4 photos.
I was beginning to think I was imagining my N4 was nice an smooth - but I got so annoyed with 4.3 I unlocked & flashed 4.2.2 factory image. IT Is DEFINITELY smoother.
Screen stutter/lag can be rendered by checking "hardware overlays" in dev options

I've flashed a couple of 4.3 ROMs starting with stock but keep going back to LiquidSmooth v 2.9. I don't see any degradation in performance with 4.3, I have been getting better battery life from LiquidSmooth.
There were a couple of apps that I use that were not performing well with 4.3. I decided to flash back to cm because of this. It was mainly Swype that was driving me crazy. I'm unsure if it was the fault of Swype not being updated for 4.3 or if it was the screen polling of 4.3 everyone is talking about.

I don't see hardware overlays. Do you mean "disable HW overlay " or "force GPU rendering" ?
These were default (I.e not disabled and not forced)
Im not sure these would help?!?!
I tried 4.3 two times, but after a few hours I reverted back to CM10.1 :silly:
I'll wait for good and stable custom kernels, and for good custom ROM's.
It's me. I expect 4.3 very much. I update to stock 4.3, Titanium can't remove system app. So I tried to use PA rom, version 3.91, while I'm download PA rom, I detect a new version of PA, version 3.92. I'm very suprise with PA group speed, they're provide rom patchs continuous. And I had to download from beginning. After that, I install new rom with a big expectation but titanium still can't remove system app. Finally I had to restore to PA 3.69 by TWRP and wait a new rom version :crying:
Tried a custom CyanogenMod 4.3 Build, but I prefer to stay with the "current" nightlies right now.
Theres a reason why they didnt start rolling out nightlies already.
A question, where did you get the CM build? Is it from the team itself or was it made by someone else?
4.3, same on the outside, fubar on the inside.
My fears about the head honcho of android chrome being made head of the whole OS have come to bare.
If it wasn't for the fact that 4.3 fixed the double dial issue for us Solavei users id go back to CM 10.1.2 (4.2.2)

No, mine's working great also on 4.3. Missing the added functionality of custom Roms atm. Just waiting on cm 10.2 to become official:thumbup:

I might revert back. I get several hours less battery time with 4.3 because Android OS "keep awake" is draining my battery. I never had such issues with 4.2.2. :/

I quite like the stock rom....kinda sad Matr1x only supports the JSS build....might flash a JSS rom...or maybe build it myself.
But yeah, I'm happy with 4.3. Never had any issues with OTAs

Everything seems to be working well. I couldn't test BLE, because I don't have a BLE device, but otherwise everything seems to be fine.
Yea I went back to 4.2.2... I'll wait for liquid smooth too upgrade to 4.3 before I flash another ROM.

I am looking for a completely stock 4.3 rom that is JSS, that is odexed; which means no theme capability.
Basically I want a stock factory image of JSS. So I can use jss kernels. And etc...
All I see are deodexed with some features implemented. If possible I would like to know if there's a version of this or not? Because I do not see one.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Reason why i ask this is because all these roms' have bugs and issues where as the stock factory image does not.

I don't want the improvement because those improvements involved bugs and problems any CyanogenMod build is always buggy there's not one single build that's a hundred percent perfect.
There are a few stock ish JSS roms however most of them still implement their own kind of features which I don't want. All I want is the stock image of JSS kind of like JWR OTA.

there is no actual stock JSS image. JSS is source only right now. You can only get the image for JWR. If you want JSS so badly, ask a developer to cook the rom for you without root. Only way is to compile from source.
This will probably be the closest you'll get. It has no root but has the Google apps replacing the AOSP ones so it's as close to a factory image as you can get. I'm about try it myself as I prefer to have 100% stock as well

Hello guys,
Iam new to the Nexus 4 forums. I have experience with other phones with flashing etc. I have a couple of questions:
I flash a kernel(zip) after I flash a ROM. That seems to me the right way. The flashing seems going right but after restarting the phone somewhat stutters, its no lag or something like that.
Iam running PA with now the regular kernel but when I flash Franco or Neo kernel it happens.
Anybody a idea what i am doing wrong?

For PA use jwr kernels. Not jss. Neo and Franco both have two versions. Jss and jwr.

There's also this zip which allows Jss kernels to be used in jwr roms.

Im using PSX rom. while it is a great rom 95% of the time, the other 5% of the time it freezes(well, maybe less, but every time it does it super annoying). The developer of the rom says that this is a common problem of the 4.3 builds. that sounds a little strange to me. While Im probably didnt understand him right, I still see that the latest version of PSX freezes sometimes. so after 4-5 month with that rom, I think it is time to move on. Could you please state which rom you are using, whether or not it freezes, what are its pros and cons, and your final recomandation?
Thanks!!

Stock ROM, Xposed module, Gravity Box. Let's you configure 95% of the stuff a custom ROM does.

I don't have any freezing issues. There are cases where I install incompatible kernel and it cause the phone to reboot, but is solved by using the stock kernel that come with that rom.
Get PA rom. You won't be disappointed.

Hi,
On the latest 11/20 nightly I have no sound at all and the phone can't find WiFi.
Is it a known bug?

Might be some old 4.3 cruft that hasn't been cleaned up yet. This is why, in my opinion, the device should have been left untouched until kernel source and factory images for 4.4 were posted... Or at least kernel source and an OTA, instead of doing hackjobbed 4.3+4.4 hybrid frankenbuilds for a week.
