In terms of speed, especially on new our devices, does odex and deodexed make that much of a difference?
Yes, odexed is theoretically faster, and is the way Google ships devices. Most Roms aren't odexed because to odex you build the ROM with a user build type, this takes a lot longer and building deodexed with user debug is easy

I have just rooted my newely aquired Nexus 7 land want tot install a custom ROM. At least i think i do. Can someone please explain to me what the difference is between the stock nexus 7 and an aosp rom.
I have always had custom ROMs installed on my S3 and there the difference is pretty clear. Here it seems like stock and aosp are the same. So maybe a stock based ROM like cleanrom would be a good choice?

I would also like this clarifying in laymans terms, as AOSP and AOKP pickle me !

Yes, AOSP is Google unmodified rom (base for other vendors like HTC .. etc)
Nexus 7 is Google device = AOSP rom
AOKP rom and Cyanogenmod is an open source replacement firmware for smart phones and tablet computers based on the Android mobile operating system. It offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by vendors of these devices. (wiki quote)

Anyone running Kit kat 4.4 GPE Rom on GT-I9505??.. specifically those running TW rom before.. Is there any significant improvement as compared to TW 4.3? Is it worth the try?
I'm on omega rom v16 (JB 4.3) and running flawlessly for me but i'm tempted to try out kit kat GPE rom. I tried CM once but it didn't improve performance or battery life(no offence to cm devs) So, I'm afraid to jump on this one...
Any advice is highly appreciated
Yes I did today. There's a few bugs with the GPE edition at the mo such as reboots during calls and when charging I'd advise to wait until these are sorted before trying.
You'll miss the camera app, AOSP camera is lacking in options and modes compared to the TW version, no burst mode and such.
It flies though the rom is very fast and smooth. If you've run CM before than it'd be a similar experience but you'd be running an AOSP version comptiable properly with our device.
Obviously it's AOSP so none of the TW features will be present. It's simple and effective however there's useful things on TW so I've flashed back to that, camera, and such I require I find better on TW.

Samsung Galaxy S i9000 is decent smartphone, it comes with decent hardware specification. Powered with Cortex A8 1GHz processor with 512MB RAM, and a dedicated PowerVR SGX540 graphic chip. Hi, i always use old android 4 roms for my smartphones, because the roms have been long updated and the 4. ist much faster because it has not this encryption. (my old s4 is in 50% of the opertaions i use faster). But which rom is the best? I want to have xposed and viper sound mod. the shohat rom has it included, but the comments was not so good with the performance and battery life. what do you recommend me?
If you mean KitKat (android 4.4) ROMs, the last one I've used was omega ROM.
However, I'd highly recommend to jump straight to Android 6.0 marshmallow for general battery + performance improvements (not to mention much improved security).
Android 4 is outdated by a long mile. At least think about stock touchwiz. Your best bet for Android 4 would be the now-defunct CM11 or PAC or even some older versions of CosmicOS (if they exist, haven't looked). Other than that, no way KK ROMs would be in development in 2017.
which is best stock based rom in terms of battery performance JX's series or Revivior rom or any other ??
Only they both are available which are stock based. and none of them are updated to the latest Security patch.

I don't see any real differences battery wise between the original stock rom and any mods like JX's series. Personally I'm using the standard rom with ElementalX kernel, rooted with Magisk and disabled some annoying services/apps myself. If you really want to noticeable save battery power, I would suggest to lower the CPU cores count and/or lower the frequencies of it with tools like EX Kernel Manager/Kernel Auditor.
