hmm i would probably try restoring sans odin...should fix whatever partition issues your having
I had to restore from KIES...
Wouldnt boot again.
Go in stock recovery and
Format data / factory RESET the thing...
WTH I almost tought i lost it for a sec !!
Never format data. What you should have done is odin back to stock, then factory reset through stock recovery. Kies is hit or miss when it comes to recognizing the phone in that state. You got lucky. There are a few topics on how to fix the problem you had.

I format /data every time I flash a new ROM and I experience fewer bugs because of it.
I just back up all my important files (data folder) to external SD and then restore after I install the new ROM. Works great for me. :good:

I'm mostly on TWRP but I do it in CWM also.
At most, your issue (whatever it was) was due to user-error or a random system glitch.
At worst, you have to ODIN back to stock which only takes about ten minutes to do, five minutes to re-root and install TWRP and then you're good to go again.
Don't know if any further research has been done on this subject, but it's the only thread that came back with TWRP+format.
This same thing happened to me last week, I *think* it was my first internal format on my i337, was able to boot then fail.
Odin back to stock fixed issues.
Any thought why this happens? Any suggestions for best clean format approach besides an Odin? Flash CWM/Philz for the format then back to TWRP if desired?
I'm currently stuck in the same situation. Used TWRP to format /data to try and clean up the internal sdcard and now I'm bricked. Flashed 3 diff recoveries and about a billion roms, nothing works. Downloading a fresh odin flashable stock rom as we speak.
edit: so flashing stock rom via ODIN wasnt quite enough. I then had to enter stock recovery and do a factory reset. I noticed any time I tried to format /data the system would crash and reboot. The stock recovery was able to properly format data and now I'm back on a custom recovery/rom again.

Not able to flash other ROMs

Hi all !
Since yesterday I'm not able to flash any ROM on my I9505. This is what happened.
Yesterday I was flashing a ROM (PACman) and on that ROM I was getting a lot of FC
so I decided to put my previous ROM back on my phone (FoxHound). After the Aroma install,
my phone reboots and keeps stuck at the splash ''Samsung'' logo screen.
This is driving me crazy. I tried to flash different ROMs with no success..
I couldn't boot my phone up, couldn't access recovery, only download mode.
After I flashed a stock firmware with Odin, I can boot up and use my phone properly.
I only can't flash any other ROMs anymore, cause it will cause my phone to keep stuck
at the ''Samsung'' logo..
Someone got a solution? Or is someone having the same problem?

After flashing a rom Try wipe cache , dalvik reboot should work
if not wrkng then try flashing rom factory reset , wip cache , dalvik reboot
if u are using PHILZ recovery no plm but if u have other recovery have PHILZ that will be a solution

Hi 123hiten,
Thank you for your reply.
- I flashed FoxHound ROM, wiped cache and dalvik cache. No success..
- I did a factory reset, wiped dflashed FoxHound ROM again, wiped cache and dalvik cache. No success.
- I flashed PhilZ recovery, did a wipe data/factory reset, flashed FoxHound ROM again, wiped cache and dalvic cache.. and again no succes..
I didn't understand what u meant in your last sentence with ''plm''?
I tried to flash the PACman ROM again, and it worked, but still I'm getting Force Close when someone calls me or if I'm trying to call someone.
I really dont know what to do now..

I don't know where to see that, but I'm sure it's XXUBMF8.
That's the stock firmware I flashed.

[solved] efs partition corrupted! Solution inside

Hi everyone, yesterday i was in Omega V4 and i was happy with it, and by the night i had my phone running with all the apps, BUT suddenly the phone auto reboots and starts giving FC's in all apps.
I went to recovery to try and do a full wipe, which means:
Wipe /data, /cache, /system, /preload and dalvik cache...
And try to recover my phone flashing MJ7 latest stock rom:
N9005XXUDMJ7_N9005OXADMJ4_N9005XXUDMJ7_HOME.tar
Had a bootloop issue before and doing this saved me, and all i had to do was flash CWM back, and a custom rom, and that's it...
Now i have a big problem, and i mean BIG one because i don't know how to solve it.
I flashed the stock rom back and it does boot fine and work for about 2 minutes, then auto reboots and doesn't pass the Samsung logo..
Tried to redownload stock firmware, the original one
N9005XXUDMJ7_N9005OXXDMJ4_XEO
And basically i can't get the phone to work, i can't get it to boot properly and the strange thing is that it doesn't detect my SIM after booting.
BUT i have a EFS backup and did restore it thru odin so that is not the problem here, since i can't get any firmware to get stable on the phone.
Do i have to take it to the Samsung Repair Center?
I do have knox 0x1 :\

Problem you have is warranty is void as you have tripped knox
2 ways to try the easy way pull battery out for a minute that can help
Or wipe internal sd card with cwm that will wipe everything so you will have no rom at all nothing so put a rom on external sd or flash stock with odin

Not sure, but i would start with the basics--
1. Don't use Factory Reset. Do it manually thru Advanced. Wipe System/Data/Caches 3
2. Flash 4.3 rom for your phone before flashing a 4.4.
3. If you continue to have issues back up your internal sdcard to pc and format it then reinstall the data.
2.5.0.2 has been rock solid for me
I am not familiar with European phones. You could try a differnet kernel for you phone.
Did you Google your problem to see if anyone else has the issue.
Good luck--

Because when in flash 4.3 stock ROM some stuff like wall wallpaper and the greenify setting stay the same.
If i wipe the data will everything be back like when i first bought the phone?

Not sure on going back to original. Maybe Odin with a stock tar file for your version. Not familiar with that though. I have the wallpaper issue also. Not uncommon. Going of you wipe as suggested and redo internal card, you will be OK. Sometimes files are left there from previous roms and can effect new rom. Calling it a nite.

Newb Stock ROM Question

Hey guys,
So i rooted my Verizon LG G2 a couple months ago and was trying out all the ROMs. I started with Paranoid Android, then AOKP, then Malladus, then Flex ROM, and now i'm back to the Paranoid Android Beta 4. It's been running great for me but I wanted to go back to stock for a little so I've come here with a question. I did a backup of my stock ROM in TWRP and still have it. What would be the process to install a brand new stock rom (completely stock, no bells and whistles)? Can I restore the backup, then go into TWRP and wipe date/cache/etc, then reboot? Should that work? It's probably a super easy question, I just don't want to mess anything up.
Thanks in advance!
Mike
That will do the trick for you. After restoring the factory backup just doing a factory reset will wipe out all of the bells and whistles you put into your backup. Should boot up just like new. I would boot the phone up first before doing the reset though. Maybe not necessary but I like to be cautious too!

Thank you! Yep, i'll restore the backup and make sure it boots with no problems. Then boot into recovery and wipe data/etc.
I'll make sure to backup my current rom just in case. Better safe than sorry!

Ut oh didn't seem to work for me. What did I miss? When i wiped, then rebooted, i was frozen at the LG screen.
Are you saying that the stock rom rebooted ok and then you wiped and it won't reboot?

Yep, I restored the file and it booted perfectly fine. Then I rebooted to recovery, wiped data, and rebooted system. It got stuck at the LG screen, so I manually entered recovery with the back keys. What did I do wrong?

Restore you backup again and this time when you go into TWRP don't wipe data, just swipe the Factory Reset slider. See if that solves the problem for you.

Will that wipe internal storage too? I usually go into the advanced wipe and wipe everything but internal storage.
No it won't, it will dump your apps and clean the caches and reset the settings.
You can do the same thing from inside the rom by going to system settings/backup reset and doing a reset. I don't know if TWRP does a better or more thorough job of it or not but both ways work.
