Pls advise kernel for 4.3 with cifs inside
You need to go into the development sections and actually read the first post (op) of the kernel threads. It probably took more time for you to make this post than it would to actually find what your looking for. Developers work to make thier posts as informative as possible for the end user. Please, make use of that.

The only 4.3 kernel which includes cifs support seems to be faux123's and that's nearly two months old.

Hmmm... none of the other developer's seem to care about this feature. That is curious.
Even vanilla CM 10.2 has cifs support.

Samsung realeses sg2 kernel sources sais sammobile on twitter. Might that be of help to the Note development scene?

I am surprised this is not bigger news, maybe because ICS is not in the title.
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the note essentially the same as the GS2 (hardware wise besides the screen and SPen), so couldn't these sources be used to fix most of the issues in the AOKP/ AOSP builds for the note?

As of tomorrow the guys over at Canonical are unveiling their Ubuntu Touch porting guide ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting ). This would be a prime opportunity to do a bit of homework prior to this so we are primed and ready to begin porting what promises to be a worth while user experience
I propose we pool our resources, discussing what we know about how Ubuntu Phone (Touch) works and suggestions as to how we are going to shoe-horn it on top of our already existing code bade of Kernel and Userland stuff.
Just a notion, ignore if you wish but i feel this would be a worthy endeavour.

It's released now!
Well time to seek for developers having time to port this

Thanks blizzari So what we are looking at is the Cyanogenmod 10.1 code-base minus Dalvik and the Java API. Firstly, good call Canonical, secondly what does this mean for getting things up and running on our device?
Im going to fire up my Ubuntu rig and start dicking about with the porting process to see if i cant add any relevant information here

Any more progress on the same? I would love to dual boot Ubuntu along with my SuperNexus. Here's a list of WIP devices and SGS2 (I9100) is not even listed there

hope i helped..
I downloaded Franco kernel and I'm running smoothrom with leankernel however I want to keep what I have just replace lean with Franco. I saw on Google something about fastboot but couldn't find any instructions.
All I want to do is flash Franco kernel and reboot without having to start from scratch or build an installer, the Franco updater app didn't work for me.

And that would be located where?
Does nobody else install a custom rom and then realize the kernels packaged with the rom are NOT the kernel they wanted?
Not everyone is a code breathing developer-type rom-breathing linux-dragon.
I like custom roms because I like to unlock performance but i by no means am an expert with this stuff.

Franco kernel in development? That's what you are trying to install....correct? Same thread you downloaded it from. Probably near the top of the list.....or a quick Google search or XDA forum search will find it fast.
I'll find it and post a link......tho I bet you can find it quicker.
Do yourself a favor tho....always read the instructions and/or opening post of anything you intend to flash. Could be very important info....that will help you install it.....as well as warnings. Otherwise you will have problems I'm sure. Maybe even brick your device.
Just trying to help my friend. Not pick on you.

Took less than a minute.
Never wait for answers when you can find them yourself.....do that and you'll be a pro in no time.
This is more to start the discussion and eventual development of a new rom... Just wanted to share my thoughts on CM11 Unofficial first by saying I am really happy there is life in this modding community again and CM11 give me hope and drive to look for newer alternatives to work from right now i'm on CM9 and it runs 100% smooth and stable no crashes or reboots so I am thinking of developing a new rom based off it... Eventually I will move to CM11 but right now there are a few kinks in it... I love the kit kat progress and hope to see something stable soon that I can tinker and make even better I am all about customizing things....
