I have an International version of Galaxy S 4 I-9500 which now using English as the default language. Is it possible to flash it and replace by other language ROM? If yes, how? I searched the forum and found this page listed with a lot of different languages (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257645). I downloaded the "Build Date: 01.07.2013 -> Region: TGY (Hong Kong) PDA: I9500ZSUBMG1 Changelist: 1000621 Android: 4.2.2" and the kernels file on the same page. Can these be use to flash the S4? What are Odin/CWM/TWRP (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025), stock ROM, and modems (sorry, I have no idea on these; even I read the posts)? Since my S4 is unlock version (I believe and how do I confirm it?), do I still need to root it (follow this article http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477)? My carrier is T-Mobile or Simple Mobile, if flashed will I be able to use the network (phone and www)? Thank you in advance!!!
You don't need root.. you just need ODIN. You can then flash any official rom. Most people would be finding these on: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/

Hi guys,
First Q: I want to know which is the best arabic Firmware for My galaxy note in UAE?
Second Q: I have downloaded "N7000JPLA1_N7000OJPLA1_XSG" Firmware which is the latest one in UAE, Is there any problem if I'll install it in my galaxy note??
Information about my Phone:
Model Number: GT-N7000
Android version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: N7000XXLA4 (I think it is European)
Kernal version: 2.6.35.7-N7000XXLA6-CL907341 [email protected]#2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XXLA6
I bought it online from SOUQ.com.
Thanx
according to some web pages the UAE versions are N7000JPKJ4 (2.3.5) & N7000JPKK2 (2.3.6) these two are officialy arabic firmwares for the UAE.
your version works too and its new 2.3.6 you can easly flash it just watch for the flash counter from incrementing other than that its completly harmless and nothing too complicated to follow. i recommend getting a script rooting and then flash with the CMW (ClockWorkMOD) so you'll have no counter issues and avoid warrenty though you can fix that and reset the counter prefer not going there and trying this mess cause then you'll need a JIG.
that's about it, Good luck
No problem

Hello,
Why don't install one of AOSP-based rom (e.g. imilka's CyanogenMod 9) which i'm using with no problem in reading and writing in Arabic !
JPLA1 is working great .. i'm using it and it's official
I just purchased Galaxy Note GT-N7000 from Dubai, but Arabic is not readable and even no Arabic keyboard for inputting. So how can i solve the problem bcz i m new and don;t know what i have to do.
Secondly how can i install any new language like URDU or others which are not listed in language list of Note.
Thanks
Hi
There is this stock package for s5360 - S5360_XXLK1_OXFLK1_XXLH2. There is Polish language but there is no XEO. Can I use CSC from another ROM pack for example from this S5360_XXLH2_OXXLH2_XXLH2 ??
Why not try:
S5360_XXKL3_OXXKL1_XXKL3
European multilanguage build.
based on: S5360XXKL3_S5360OXXKL1_RST_S5360XXKL3_HOME.tar.md5
ro.build.date=Wed Dec 14 17:16:14 KST 2011
Supported languages:
XX = de,en,es,fr,hu,it,nl,pt(cs,da,el,fi,no,pl,sl,sv,tr )
Included CSCs: (Default is XEU)
ATO AUT COS CPW CYO CYV EIR EUR FOP ITV MOO PAN PHE SUW TPH XEF XEH XEO XEU XEZ XSK
After the flash, set your country/provider in dialer *#272*[yourIMEI]# (-> It will wipe your data, and rebrand the phone to specific country/carrier)
This build does not contais any provider specific bloatware
I think pl is polish language and XEO is there also in this stock firmware.
Also Doky73 is converting and releasing new firmware updates at present, he just did Polish T-Mobile stock ROM today so maybe you can check Sammobile for new firmware for yourself and ask nicely if he will convert it?
I would like to use newest ROM. The newest is S5360_XXLK1_OXFLK1_XXLH2.
Is this CSC setting really important ?

I thought it was but apparently it is not so important at all. (See the Q&A Ask any questions thread). Just flash the latest firmware that you want which supports your language and you should be fine apart from having to set up your data network settings manually (APN settings). I have to do this anyway as my carrier is not major so I keep a list of the settings for when I change ROM, if you don't have those written down or cannot find them online get them from your phone before you do anything else.
Also, have you made a nandroid backup using CWM recovery yet? Always do this before making major changes, it could save you a lot of trouble if things go wrong! (I didn't and it caused me a lot of trouble lol). Also make a note of your IMEI number by pressing *#06# in dialer.
If when you have flashed the firmware you cannot connect to your carrier, then press *#272#(your IMEI number)# and it should fix it. If it doesn't (I am told this is very unlikely) then just flash the CSC file as you were asking about doing in your first post using Odin and it should all be good again.
I have been told that the CSC doesn't matter but have not had chance to test it myself yet as I only found out tonight!
Good luck :good:
I want to upgrade my wife's s4 i9500 wanamlite 4.3 ROM
This time I want to try a not modded rom
Need advice please - If I'm choosing the right way to a new stock firmware + ROOT AND RECOVERY :
1. Is this firmware suitable ? for Israel ?
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=31706
Model: GT-I9500
Model name: GALAXY S4
Country: Germany
Version: Android 4.4.2
Changelist: 699287
Build date: Wed, 28 May 2014 14:23:46 +0000
Product Code: MBC
PDA: I9500XXUFNE7
CSC: I9500MBCFNE1
MODEM: I9500XXUFNA6
2. then, after the stock firmware ODIN installation
ROOT : http://download.chainfire.eu/326/CF-R...
CWM Recovery :- http://d-h.st/2Iu (Odin Version)
Is this two steps = 100% what is needed ?
& Also :
3. I see that Modded ROMs are >> Deodexed / Zipaligned converted
What Actually is the difference ? is it a Must ? for fast & good battery usage... etc.
4. and finally ( regardless to the stock base firmware etc. ) - Just a general question : What CSC is usually recommended when there is no unic one to your country ?
we are from Israel and when I used UK CSC - the Phone No. structure has been change
Many THX ( in advance )

Hi ,
Regarding 1
Yes, that would be the right firmware for that phone , question what bootloader you have right now , new or old? Go to download mode and see if there is any Knox related info , if there is not then you have the old one , I mention this just because if you have the oldbootloader and flash a stock rom >4.3 there is no way back and any flashing after that it will trip the knox warranty bit
Regarding 2
It depends, why you want a stock rom? You need root for some apps and some mods (as long as there is no flashing and depending in the bootloader no problem with knox) , you need CWM if you intend to flash
Regarding 3
Here you go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224570
Main advantage, moding and speed , other than that they are similar
Regarding 4
CSC CustomerSalesCode this has specific information about the carrier and country where the phone is used , language , phone number structure , SMS, MMS , special services offered by carrier…..must custom roms have multiCSC you can change them to the one want ( if you change CSC you will factory reset it ! backup first) , there are app that will do it for you
90% of the time there is no need to do it but if you want this is a great one for that

Last year I was given a Galaxy Note 3 as a present. It is an SM-N900, csc country TGY (Hong Kong). I get the message from Kies that the 4.4.2 is the latest firmware. So I looked around, and there are plenty of 5.0 downloads, but all of these lead me to a site that require a 'premium membership', for pay of course.
Is there an official Samsung website where the (original) firmware versions can be downloaded, without the need for Kies? And particularly, is there a location where the Dutch 5.0 version for the SM-N900 (official international model) can be found?
T.
I'd forgotten how messy the download pages look when you're not using an adblocker.. And how confusing the multiple download buttons can be to people who aren't used to downloading off the internet.
You can use Sammobile.com (You don't need a premium account, just a free one), or Samsung-updates.com.
There is no official site, but these both use the KIES firmwares.
Hello folks;
I created a SamMobile account, and am currently downloading two 5.0 firmware sets: TGY (Hong Kong) and a SER (Russia) .
Russian version:
============================
Model SM-N900
Model name GALAXY Note 3
Country Russia
Version Android 5.0
Changelist 4115321
Build date Thu, 09 Apr 2015 13:05:48 +0000
Product code SER
PDA N900XXUEBOD1
CSC N900SEREBOB1
Hong Kong version:
========================
Model SM-N900
Model name GALAXY Note 3
Country Hong Kong
Version Android 5.0
Changelist 4031530
Build date Wed, 18 Mar 2015 03:08:27 +0000
Product code TGY
PDA N900ZSUEBOC3
CSC N900OZSEBOC3
================================
My phone type is SM-N900, a gift from a relative . Got it in China, and the current firmware is:
Bootloader N900ZSUDNB1
Baseband N900XXUBMI2
PDA N900ZSUDBN1
CSC N900OZSDNB1
The original CSC country code is TGY, Hong Kong. As far as I can see, there are no restrictions, I can access Google playstore etc. Can't do that with a Mainland Chinese phone....
If I want to download the current firmware, to have it available just in case, I am directed to a Baidu site. Can't get the original firmware via SamMobile. Guess that means that if an upgrade via ODIN goes wrong, I am stuck?
Questions:
- should I use the TGY or the SER firmware?
- any way to go back to the original firmware in case the update does not work?
Thanks for your help,
T.
Questions belong in Q&A, not General.
Thank you.

You need to do some reading around. HK (& some other Asian ones) firmware tends to be different to the rest of the world - I think it's partition sizes. Try flashing a non-HK ROM and you're likely to soft brick or bootloop your phone.
Learn about how to get around the issue and you can flash whatever you like (within reason ) but at present HK is what you should stick with.
Not sure why you get a redirect - either China doesn't want you flashing anything else or the phone hosts file has crap in it.
Hi and thank you for your time.
I´ve performed an advanced wipe with TWRP without a back up (thought i had) so i´ve got no OS and now i just want my stock firmware back installed.
I found several stock roms in another web site with csc and pda codes and I don't know wich one i should install.
Also i don´t know what info is relevant to answer the questions i have made. What i do have is:
Model SM-J320M
FCC ID
SSN
Country it was made Argentina
CNC ID
IMEI
S/N
And that the phone it self is not related to any comunication company but my service provider is CLARO
ps. I´ve contacted samsung support and the answer was to take it to a support center but i need to learn if im gonna keep messing with my phone..besides i'm broke ha!
The site firmware.gem-flash.com offers downloads known as the 4files.
You don't have to download there, but they do list the 4 needed files, which may help in getting you the versions you need.
