These dang apps with the advertising in them are pissing me off. Everytime I turn on my tablet there is one in my notification bar. Anyone know of an app to block them? I just usually delete the app out of frustration but there are some I'd like to keep.

Then why don't you pay for them to get rid of the ads?

Correct. And some you need more than 15min to check em out.

I find i best to be more particular of what I install and do not support any app that uses notifications to advertise.
An ad blocker will not help with these either. I simply read comments on any free app and Always look at permissions before installing.
If one still slips by, I uninstall intermediately.
All I'm saying is, if it's a good app, why not support the developer? It's not like they charge you an arm and a leg for their app and you can install it on any device that is registered to you afterwards. Most apps only cost a few bucks anyways.

It sounds like what you are describing is a VERY annoying ad service called Air Push (puts ads in your notification bar). You can use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brosmike.airpushdetector to figure out which app it is and uninstall it.
If you are talking about in-app ads, then you need something like adblock, but keep in mind, ads are how devs get paid for their "free" apps...so unless you want to help support them all going pay, you might want to reconsider.

All you need to do is "long press" the notification and select "app info" and it will take you right to the app to uninstall it.
Get Add on detector from the play store and run it
It will tell which app/apps is the culprit so you can delete it

Yep or airpush detector.

Alright well I just rooted my phone, do you suggest any apps to control the start ups?
Startup cleaner 2.0 looks well..but there aren't many apps that delay starting..so if you want to look into it go ahead but the difference wouldn't be enormous

Give SmartTaskbar Pro a try. Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but worth a peek. I've been using it for about a month now and it's pretty slick.
Ehh not really looking for a launcher of that sort, but thanks anyways. =] the search must go on..

What they mean is they want to be able to open it even in fullscreen apps, games etc. The way apple does it is you swipe down from the top once a small tab then appears and then you pull that tab down and the notification dropdown appears.

Might want to try disabling it or reflashing your firmware. I, nor any of my geek friends, have this problem with our S4s.
What is it? And is disabling it going to have neg effects? Thanks

It looks to me like it is an App. So you should be able to use titanium backup to freeze it. If it screws other stuff up, just unfreeze it. It would probably be a good idea for you to read the description and reviews on the play store link I posted above to see what info you can get from there before you do anything. Good luck.
Use auto starts and just disable it that's what I did

You may have a rogue app.
You may need to check all your apps

Lol. Its a rogue/adware/spyware app. Goto application manager from settings and hunt it down. Roast it and eat it. Also, maybe uninstall it?

Defiantly a rough app.
I would suggest a wipe in such cases, this is to fully ensure elimination of the problem.
