Give SmartTaskbar Pro a try. Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but worth a peek. I've been using it for about a month now and it's pretty slick.
Ehh not really looking for a launcher of that sort, but thanks anyways. =] the search must go on..

If you root your phone you can remove bloatware like Sprint nav, Sprint tv, Sprint zone, some of the HTC things like news stocks I mean you can do a whole lot once rooted

There are apps to control start up apps too once you root.

Alright well I just rooted my phone, do you suggest any apps to control the start ups?
Startup cleaner 2.0 looks well..but there aren't many apps that delay starting..so if you want to look into it go ahead but the difference wouldn't be enormous

Where can I find the apk for the stock 'clock's application, which includes a stopwatch and timer?
Or something similar on the market?
Thanks in advance!

Was it the Samsung Widget for stock clock?
There is an app in the market actually called Stopwatch & Timer
Thanks! I think it's now called clock ... IIRC it has (had) alarm, stopwatch, timer, world times etc.
I'm now using acs and have no built-in alarm.

Place it in the system app folder with root explorer and reboot.

Used the free version of Supermanager - worked like a charm.
And it was indeed the app I was looking for.
Thanks to all!

I've been looking all over for this.
To all the Chefs out there that are cooking up these delicious ROMs we are so blessed with everyday. We know that most of you use LauncherPro for your ROMs. Last month I was using a launcher called GO Launcher. It is free, includes options that only the paid LauncherPro Plus includes. It is stable and has a very active dev team that is really passionate about perfecting their launcher. Just a suggestion. Check it out and see if it something you prefer. Think it would be neat to see it in some ROMs.
Go launcher is old news but its a good advice however this is the wrong section this needs to.go in general

Just cause you like go launcher it don't mean we do. If you don't like launcher pro install go launcher from the market.

i think it was the urban fury or the nova roms that were using go launcher for some time, and honestly, kinda slow. rob's midnight is super fast with launcher pro as well as ACS's roms with launcher pro.
Why don't u make your own Tom using go launcher? Then u don't have to worry if it has launcher pro. I don't understand why u are even complaining. Its not hard to dl go launcher from the market.

Maybe a little too harsh..
I mean he did thank the devs, but then again he's kinda being selfish reason being stated in quote...

Relax
He is simply suggesting and commenting on a launcher he thinks is suitable. He is not in any way telling Devs. what to include in the Roms. Some of you take this a bit too serious.

Go Launcher is meh, but Zeam is great for ROMS. I did switched to ADW after I learned it too had a hidden dockbar like Zeam.
And just as a side note, Go launcher also includes a hidden dockbar. I would be intersted, however, to learn the memory/battery impact of the different launchers. I would imagine that the more options it has the more resources it uses.

I just checked out Zeam and I didn't see a hidden dock bar. If it had it, that would be perfect. It is definitely nice and lightweight.

These dang apps with the advertising in them are pissing me off. Everytime I turn on my tablet there is one in my notification bar. Anyone know of an app to block them? I just usually delete the app out of frustration but there are some I'd like to keep.

Then why don't you pay for them to get rid of the ads?

Correct. And some you need more than 15min to check em out.
Sent from my GT-N5110 using xda premium
I find i best to be more particular of what I install and do not support any app that uses notifications to advertise.
An ad blocker will not help with these either. I simply read comments on any free app and Always look at permissions before installing.
If one still slips by, I uninstall intermediately.
All I'm saying is, if it's a good app, why not support the developer? It's not like they charge you an arm and a leg for their app and you can install it on any device that is registered to you afterwards. Most apps only cost a few bucks anyways.

It sounds like what you are describing is a VERY annoying ad service called Air Push (puts ads in your notification bar). You can use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brosmike.airpushdetector to figure out which app it is and uninstall it.
If you are talking about in-app ads, then you need something like adblock, but keep in mind, ads are how devs get paid for their "free" apps...so unless you want to help support them all going pay, you might want to reconsider.

All you need to do is "long press" the notification and select "app info" and it will take you right to the app to uninstall it.
Get Add on detector from the play store and run it
It will tell which app/apps is the culprit so you can delete it
