[Q] WiFi broken, please advise?

So I just got my nexus 4 (JB 4.2) yesterday and on initial startup said "can't establish a reliable connection to the server" when I tried to log into my Google account. So I thought maybe I need to try 4.2.2 where it could be fixed - so I unlocked, rooted and tried Paranoid Android ROM and Rootbox. Again same issue and when I go to the browser all sites either don't load at all or are extremely slow (~3 mins).
My device seems defective, so time to RMA?
Or is there an easy solution I'm just clearly missing?

[Q] Problem with Wi-Fi on 4.3?

I just finished installing the 4.3 update via the factory images courtesy of Google and I've had the oddest slowdown in Wi-Fi performance. It takes 9-10 minutes to download the swiftkey app and the store times out constantly. My nexus 7 freshly updated and my PC connect fine and get speeds around 50mbps, but once I got the speedtest app on my Nexus 4 it capped out at a very shaky 2.3 mbps. I re downloaded the package and reflashed thinking it might have been a bad flashed with the same result.
Now I'm trying the whole process again with a sideload install on 4.2.2 (after restoring Wi-Fi performance was normal) and hoping that resolves it. Also, this problem only seems to be on the 5ghz frequency.
Same for me!

Continued problem after sideload...
I've now updated this software every which way I know how and it looks like there may be an issue with the 5ghz Wi-Fi in the new update. During the restore process, store can barely be accessed, apps download kilobytes per second and very little data connection works on Wi-Fi. If anyone is using this software and does not have this particular issue, please let me know or if you've fixed it help us out!

MIUI Wifi problems.

I downloaded MIUI V5 3.12.20 yesterday and I tried it on my nexus 4 using multirom. But WLAN doesnt seem to work on it.Also I tried to search similar problem faced by any one but I can hardly find users with the same.It shows switching WLAN on but it stays on that state forever.Kindly help.I am using franco kernel r198.
You need to be on radio .48. Also I ran miui for a few days but I use Google voice and since miui is still 4.2.2 It still has the WiFi notification delay bug. I get bushwhacked with texts when I leave my home.

I had the same problem. Downgrading radio to .48 or .33 worked for, it showed me available WiFi, but unfortunately only some networks and not all of them. It didn't show me my own wifi, but all my neighbors, which was weird.

Do the wifi test and see if your phone is wrong

I'm not having that issue with the play store, however, apps aren't downloading on WiFi or LTE. I just get the downloading message with an endless blue downloading bar... I'm on PureNexus with elimentalX kernel. Any problems like that?
No such issue here, all loads fast on my wifi
Yey, my phone is not " wrong"
Not the same problem but it is similar:
My 6p's wifi would randomly just stop working (no data activity) and then disconnect from wifi and reconnect.
I had it connected to an E3000 router with a recent dd-wrt build (from 2015)... anyway I flashed a 2014 build (kong 22000) and it has not done it again.
So maybe check router settings... WMM etc or reset settings and start again.
flashed it about 15 times all four stock images, cm13 and elementalx kernel
IDK wtf is going on, and this is the second 6P to do this. i did an RMA

Did you check you WiFI Router?
I have no such issues.
All three of my networks
and they all run 20ms over 3MB/s to 6MB/s
this is my 43rd phone in 12 years.
thats why im posting because it has no apparent reason
Works fine here. https://youtu.be/3DvU4fXjdNI
Wifi is fine here.
Also, The Wifi Test sounds like a great dance move
Could be your dns servers. Or network settings,
I had similar issues with both the play store and with downloading general files from chrome. Once I updated the play store to v6.0 it happened less frequently there, and once I used the WiFi analyzer app and realized how many of my neighbors were using channel 6 I switched mine to channel 11 and haven't had a single issue since.
nope, doesn't happen with me. I do have very slow lte tho lol

frick
Thanks for the test tho

HTC One m9+ Internet problem

Helllo,
I could not find any revelant thread for this and so i waited for the Marshmallow update and not yet to come so i thought i could use some professional help to fix this irritating issue.
I have HTC One m9+ and so far everything is going well with the phone, except one single thing and driving me crazy which is the internet issue.
I have two major issues:
1- When phone is on WIFI at home and i did not use for some time, the phone seems to be disconnected from the internet .. and i have tried all possible tweaks and settings for power saving and sleeping but nothing worked so far, the only thing that is possible for me is to keep on data 4G all the time, which comes the other problem
2- When on Data (3g or 4G) the phone sometimes loses connectivity completely, i just have to wait and wait until i get 4G connection again.. although signal is ok and i still receive calls but just data stops.. i tried matching settings like my galaxy note 3 and checking different APN from ISP but still same.
However, the first problem is more important, but if you can help me with both it will be great
Hello, update that the problem is actually in Whatsapp application and not the rest of the phone, on WIFI whatsapp does not receive any messages unless i open it after unlock (works fine on data)
I tried PNF and change heart beat but still the same. background data is enabled for whatsapp, notification all good, reinstalled application.. still the same
Do you have some ports blocked at your Wifi? WhatsApp and other messenger like Viber are using some ports which may be blocked at Univercity Wifi or other Wifi's...

Yes, I get exactly the same. Seems that switching on Bluetooth causing significant issues with Wi-Fi. Should have been fixed by HTC ages ago.
I am on the latest EU firmware 1.90.401.3 - I don't think it used to be an issue.
