So I've searched through the threads and there doesn't really seem to be an answer for this other than to use something like widgetlocker, which I don't really want to do because I would like to still be able to use the music player controls from the lock screen. I'm just so annoyed by the haptic feedback every time I want to unlock the phone!
Does anyone know of any way to disable this?
btw Running Azure 1.0.1
Same here. But sometimes, if there is no answer in search means the problem can be solved easily... But I'm still finding the answer too
Go to: Menu - Settings - Security, then uncheck the "Use tactile feedback" option. Hope this is what you need.
@Rapier - yeah, I tried that but unfortunately all it does is disable all haptic feedback except for when unlocking the phone :S
Anyone have any ideas?
have been looking for this too a while ago and i have found this in the hero forums:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6521199&postcount=174
I haven't had the time back then to test it out myself so i don't know if it will work

Strange. For me it works exactly as it should. Is disabling the feedback only for the unlock pattern, on the other keyboards, dialer and so on, haptic feedback is still present.
Are you using stock or custom ROM? I recall you've said something about Azzure. Maybe this is the issue. I'm using stock ROM and have no problems disabling through the way I told you.

Ohhh ok yeah I guess that's the problem there. I'm running Azure 1.0.1 and unfortunately there does not seem to be any option on my ROM to disable the haptic feedback for the lockscreen as it uses the vanilla lockscreen, for which I believe there was no option to remove haptic feedback. But yes, I do recall being able to turn it off when I was running a stock ROM.
Well, that's a bummer, but thanks anyway!

Hey thanks! This looks like just what I need! I read through the thread and it doesn't seem like it's all too stable but I suppose it's worth giving a shot
Hi there!
I have a general question about the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition. More precisely I am using a common european Version of the i9505 with Jamals Google Edition ROM. Is there any possibility to disable the softkey lights completely like it is possible in the original Samsung software? I think they don't look really good in the SGS4 and it is annoying me. I couldn't find anything about that on Google so I'm posting it here.
I have been looking as well, but there is nothing that works, all the apps in play store are old. If I get time I'm gonna have a look myself see if I can find the code and turn em off.

Found out how to disable touch key backlights. Find the file in the screen shot and set the maximum brightness to 0.

Great job, thanks a lot! :good:
*edit: I just recognized that the settings I made for the brightness like you told me just work fine until I restart the phone. Then the touch key lights glow again. Is there a possibility to set this permanently?

Hello,
I already started to solve my problem in the SView-Mod-Thread, but before I spam it with too much off-topic, I created a thread in the right place.
The problem ist self-explaining, since the update to KitKat and UENB ROM, SView is working properly for the genuine SView-Cover. I am using the Spigen S View Cover and this cover has a home button, in detail it has a lay-in in the front cover to push the home button of the phone. On 4.3 it was possible to wake up the device with the home button, also it was possible to activate the torch by pushing the VolUp button. On 4.4 it is neither possible to wake up the device with the homebutton nor activate the torch.
It seems that some users have the possibility to use the buttons, but no one can explain what they did or what the reason is. So anyone, who could give some advice, how it is possible to reactivate the buttons in closed mode?
THanks in advance.

Xposed framework... Allows the use of torch using volume buttons when screen is off.
Not sure if the "home button" is supported by the sview case mod....

My ROM supports the genuine Samsung torch, that is enabled with VolUp, no Mod needed. This Mod doesn't change the behavior of the buttons at all, so there must be another way. And I am looking around for it since a while now, because it annoys me to not be able to use the full functionality of my cover.

Having The same issues with the spigen s-view cover and it is most annoying
+1, did anyone find a solution?
Same problem here. Also Galaxy S4 (not SII as my sig says..) with Spigen Armor View in combination with 4.4.2. Anybody got a olution yet?
It's a pity that Samsung always changes the running system. Maybe some users complained about false wakeups because of pushing the button through the cover. Samsung neverminds about third party accessoires.
We have to encounter, where the hardware button lock is triggered or maybe port the old SView apk to KK. But just too little knowledge about that on my side.

No luck with this anyone

having the same issue. it drives me insane so much so that im debating rolling back to 4.2
This was one thing I noticed straight after I upgraded to KitKat, I have the official s view cover and I used the home button all the time to wake my phone up as it's just easier and I could do it with one hand. Now since Its been disabled I have use lock button which is just a pain in the arse! Also when on a phone call with s view cover closed I have to press the luck button, not big issues but I hate it when things get changed for no reason!

+1 here... Any news for the topoc? Any xposed module, hack, alternatives?
Thx for any advice as missing this function really made 4.4 unusable for me... Would like to downgrade to 4.3 but no way...
I have the samsung galaxy s4 and today i install the 4.4.2 and i have the same issue.
Is there any chance that samsung going to re-enable the home button support for 3rd party sview cases?
Hey all. I have enabled: both s-view xposed modules available and disabled the xuimod module. When I disabled that, my home button worked. Let me know if that works for you.

There is only one way yo enable haptic feedback on capacitive buttons that is to build a custom kernel which enables this feature. Indeed there is no such kernel built till now.
