So I've searched through the threads and there doesn't really seem to be an answer for this other than to use something like widgetlocker, which I don't really want to do because I would like to still be able to use the music player controls from the lock screen. I'm just so annoyed by the haptic feedback every time I want to unlock the phone!
Does anyone know of any way to disable this?
btw Running Azure 1.0.1
Same here. But sometimes, if there is no answer in search means the problem can be solved easily... But I'm still finding the answer too
Go to: Menu - Settings - Security, then uncheck the "Use tactile feedback" option. Hope this is what you need.
@Rapier - yeah, I tried that but unfortunately all it does is disable all haptic feedback except for when unlocking the phone :S
Anyone have any ideas?
have been looking for this too a while ago and i have found this in the hero forums:

I haven't had the time back then to test it out myself so i don't know if it will work

Strange. For me it works exactly as it should. Is disabling the feedback only for the unlock pattern, on the other keyboards, dialer and so on, haptic feedback is still present.
Are you using stock or custom ROM? I recall you've said something about Azzure. Maybe this is the issue. I'm using stock ROM and have no problems disabling through the way I told you.

Ohhh ok yeah I guess that's the problem there. I'm running Azure 1.0.1 and unfortunately there does not seem to be any option on my ROM to disable the haptic feedback for the lockscreen as it uses the vanilla lockscreen, for which I believe there was no option to remove haptic feedback. But yes, I do recall being able to turn it off when I was running a stock ROM.
Well, that's a bummer, but thanks anyway!

Hey thanks! This looks like just what I need! I read through the thread and it doesn't seem like it's all too stable but I suppose it's worth giving a shot

Hi guys,
Ran a search for this but couldn't find the solution. I am able to type quicker with the vibration feature turned off, but I really like it when I am using the rest of the phone.
Is it possible to just turn the feedback off for the keyboard, but leave it active in Sense and everywhere else.
Max.

Use BSB Tweak is 1 option!
I'm not seeing this in BSB to JUST turn off the keyboard vibration?
May be you can try this which is provided by MIRI
forum can be found here
Good luck
Have any luck?
If it's for HD2, go to the settings tab, personalize, then vibration.
How do you turn off the haptic feedback on this phone? The soft key vibration is annoying...
Can't find a setting for it anywhere either
Bump.......
Not possible at this time

doesn't seem like it's possible at this time =)
Settings/Location and Security Settings/Use Tactile Feedback and deselect. Kills vibration from screen touches though Android buttons still vibrate.

In order for the option to even appear you have to use some sort of security option on your lock screen, but even after you deselect it you still get haptic feedback when typing in text and whatnot. So I don't think that is what people are looking for.
Major FAIL! what the heck Motorola!
Everyone in need the answer is here: to turn off haptic feedback globally you must have rooted your ATRIX, then go get this ( copy pasta time ) Streak Vibrations install it! Worked like a charm for me! so happy!

Yeah, that's correct. I disabled haptic feedback while typing and had also found the setting above but it is indeed just related to when you are typing in a PIN or security code. I guess rooting it is.
Unless I'm missing something, you can turn off the haptic feedback for the multi-touch keyboard in settings/language & keyboard settings/multi-touch keyboard/Vibrate on Keypress.
It still gives the vibrate when you use the android buttons, though.
This is on an unrooted Atrix. I tested it in the Text Message app and in the google search bar on the main page.

Great job, now the feedback is nearly exactly how I would prefer it. How did I miss that?!
Is it possible to get a bit clarification on this, how do we disable with a rooted phone?? Do we need this app we speak of? thanks for any help.

Once rooted and you have applied the allow non-market applications access, you will have to download the Streak Vibrations .apk from the web. A quick google search lead me to this thread and the d/l link is located in the last post. Download, Install, Disable Vibrations, and voilla. Hopefully I'm not breaking any forum rules by posting this link. One note, however, is that it kills all vibrations. So if you want vibration on silent mode, for instance when receiving calls, it will not work... but you can always enable the vibration when need be. I'll take that over the annoying haptic feedback anyday. Hope this helps.

or you could just turn the haptic feedback off as described a few replies above (Without rooting), which disables it everywhere except the 4 android buttons? although, i guess if the feedback there is irritating, then it wouldn't work.
streak vibrations app?
just to make this clear, it GLOBALLY disables vibration, correct? so even when in vibrate mode, will not vibrate?
id like to disable the native button feedback but dont want to sacrifice missing a call when its in vibrate mode. so can anyone confirm that it disables any/all vibrations?

Motorola rushed this phone out to the market and now we wait for an update to disable this...way to go MOTO! Good job!
Hi, everyone!
I've made clean install of newly released NexusHD2 v2.5 and experiencing strange issue with my lockscreen setting.
Since its impossible to disable vibration on SLIDE type lockscreen I was using pattern to unlock.
Now when I select pattern in locksreen settings I get two lockscreens: slide and NEXT pattern comes up.
Has anybody run into such problem? Its strange that nobody reported it in rom's thread yet.
Thanks for attention.
Solved
I solved my problem. The case was in setting option ''Show widgets before unlock". This option should be disabled.

Nobody's 'reported' it because it's not a 'problem'. It's a feature which I personally use because I can then have the weather, time and alarm info on the lockscreen without having to unlock the phone first. I can also jump directly into the camera/a custom app, and it loads faster as the app loads whilst I input my pattern so it's ready once the phone is unlocked.
Where have you found this option...
Searching anywhere for it...
Maybe i'm Blind...
I have disabled as many vibration settings as I can but there is one in particular I cannot find the setting to disable. There is a very, very short vibration when pressing the fingerprint sensor to go back to the home screen. I didn't notice it until I installed Nova Launcher. Nova Launcher didn't have any setting to disable it so I uninstalled Nova Launcher but the vibration is still there.
Is this a configurable setting?
I just got the phone so doing a factory reset is still an open option at this point.
You can disable all vibration with the extended stock kernel on here. I believe that's the only way

This vibration is really annoying..and it also drains battery.. you get an option in gravity box , xposed module to disable this vibration..but you have to root your phone.

Better you dnt go for installing the xposed framework..although it disables the fingerprint unlock vibration..you might sometime face other problems in your phone after rooting your phone...lot of people have been complaining about this annoying vibration..hope moto would fix this issue in future updates...wait for it..that's better i think.

Rooting it's self wasn't too bad and I haven't had any problems. I enjoyed the aosp rom I was using but went back to stock for the better camera. Speaking of that rom, Fingerprint gestures work without the vibration on that rom so maybe it's just some line in build prop?

This is an option that you get after installing garvitybox in xposed modules..gravitybox have support till marshmallow and iam not sure whether it works with nougat..if you have rooted ur phone..just try this..and also try the vibrafix app in playstore..some people have been telling that this app has fixed this issue of vibration in their one plus3
You can flash custom kernel like ElementalX and disable vibration.

Root method: Kernel Auditor has a slider to adjust vibration strength. I am using the kernel Alize for Nougat.
Download SetEdit app from playstore. Scroll down to heptic feed back. It will say 0. Edit to value 1 and save. Staying even after reboot. Back, home ect works.
Next for crappy fingerprint response do this. Erase all save prints. Now go to settings display and tick on touch sensitivity now go back and add new prints. Now go back and untick touch sensitivity. Mine reads faster and opens usually on first try

So this might be whats doing it, make sure notification reminders is set to off because I know when I pick up my phone after I've gotten a notification the phone vibrates to let me know I missed something.
Just double checked it's in vibration intensity, which is buried in the sound settings. I promise. You can control when and how intense the vibration is.
