Go to the play store and search contacts backup. There are a few good apps to do that. Be sure with those apps to save on your external SD card. In case you plan on wiping your internal memory.

Will disabling them have the same effects as uninstalling?(Like freeing up some RAM space) TIA!

Yes, you always need root to remove system files. No matter the tool you do it with.
Thats the super user app right? Use that and everything can be done? and does rooting void warranty?

Yeah ofcourse I am using this setup since mid august so that isnt the problem. I restored my backup of the stock rom and it works fine there, but I am on CM10.2 again because I know it isnt a problem that cant be solved. Or would a clean flash absolutely be necessary?

if hangouts connects fine, then your google services are connecting. ive seen graphical errors before, where the bars dont turn blue but its still connecting to google(a reboot always fixed it for me). but google used to connect being able to connect with goigle talk, i dont know if they do the same with hangouts now.

If you're going to root, it's better to do it as soon as you get your device. Root requires unlocking your bootloader and thus wipes your device.

Interesting. There is no root guide for deb (the LTE version of N7 2013). I see the root guide for flo, which bizarrely recommends using autoroot instead of just installing the superuser binaries (why? @philos64 ). I'm tempted to write one for deb myself, despite not having deb on hand (which is generally bad form).
If you want me to write a root guide for deb, thank this post and I'll write it. Alternately, a user with deb on hand and a good understanding of the two required fastboot commands and TWRP could do it.

Spoiler alert. Rooting deb is the same as flo, but I'm itching to create a root guide that doesn't create unnecessary steps or involve a root kit. So yes, I'll do it.

I don't have anything without being there. I used this by DL the entire root zip chain fire has prepared. I extracted the "guts" and then used PC Odin to Odin in root/supersu...then after reboot I DL ROM manager and used it to one click in CWM.
You could also Google QBKing77 and tag root s4 behind it and his video is on there its perfect
