Anybody else have this on White version? Only on the right hand side. It feels like the back cover has a small gap between it and the screens bevel. I don't think it's the back glass but it could be.
Anyway, there is a definite gap being closed when squeezed slightly. The noise is plastic rubbing on plastic.
It's freaking annoying as I'm right handed and I can feel it vibrate in my palm on top of hearing the "squeak"! My wife has a Black Nex4 and has no gaps, squeaks, nothing.

I have a black one and it does the same near the middle. This phone looks good but honestly the quality sucks the plastic creaks at the bottom near the USB as well but I've learned to live with it not a big deal for me since the rest of the phone is awesome lol

have you guys notice small gap between the glass and the silver plastic rim around it,visible only on bright environment..
i've noticed this on the first day. My friend said he read something about this on other phones to. I'm guessing its because of it being glass. It is design to protect the screen so when you get a bump on side it will not break the gorilla glass. I think

Might be true, maybe its for design purposes, in mine its only noticeable on the top area, but when using the phone normally you will not notice it because of its black color..
It's generally used as a seal to keep dust from entering the phone.

Silver? Mine is smoked grey metal

Yeah i just noticed it on mine. Wonder if we should be worried about the screen popping out of the frame or something. The gap is more prominent on the right side of the screen when looking at it. Top and bottom has no gaps. Hmmm...
Mine looks like it has an equal amount of gab and some dust that settled in.
its made like that. like what someone said above, its to protect the edges of the glass from shattering.
The glass on mine is a bit off centre, cant see it unless looking right at it in light.

I had the same glitches. Down and on the left side of the screen. Got the screen replaced by Samsung. The frame and the screen is stuck together from the factory. Now it sits really tight.

So is it a factory defect then? Unit seems to be working flawlessly though and no screen glitches
I noticed a tiny little gap on the bottom most part of my screen and the frame. It's not very visible, but it seems to be collecting a little bit of dust.
I never noticed it before reading this thread.
Hey there, since my Nexus 4 falls down from every surface I put it on (fell like 10 times today from my laptop onto my keyboard/mousepad) I would like to get some protector for the backside.
At one point I don't want to loose the quality-like glass look/feel but at the same time it shouldn't be as smooth anymore (so it won't fall from every surface).
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Try best skins ever I'm using it right now and it provides the needed grip when putting the phone on different surfaces

I like my zagg protector for this

Ye but do the look / feel like some cheap plastic as soon as you put it on? I mean, right now i take the phone and I feel high quality glass everywhere.... I don't want to have a plastic feel later on
@edit: as i only want to protect the back side I also wonder if a "protection shield" over the camera lens will decrease picture quality?
Bse has a camera cutout and it actually feels really smooth and not rubbery but it will prevent the phone from sliding everywhere when u put it down. You just have to use the skin for a couple of days after application and it'll become smoother

well I have also been thinking about a "funny/original" sticker which I put over the "LG" logo on the back side. First of all the speaker would be slightly in the air causing a louder ringing/music playback + it wouldn't have the cheap plastic feeling on the back.. and it hopefully would stop the N4 from sliding.
I just wonder, what kind of sticker ?
You have a few options. You can go tempered glass back, not sure who makes those yet or you can go clear skins, printed stuff, or carbon fiber. I had clear but now have a xo skins carbon fiber back for it. Gives it a little texture and looks pretty cool
So... I just noticed this odd hump on my N10,and was wondering if it's unique to mine (damage some how??) or a flaw? Or a design?
On the lower right corner while in landscape mode, where the glass meets the plastic, the plastic has a... Bump. A little ridge. It looks almost like the plastic got pushed into the glass... And bulged up a little. But the plastic is hard enough, I don't think a fall could've done it. And I haven't dropped it...
It looks like it happened while the plastic was being formed... Here's some pics. Anyone else have this mystery ridge?

Someone else has reported this in the past I believe; can't recall the exact thread though. Looked very similar.
Huh, I look couldn't find it. I'll keep my eyes open though. At least someone that's been around here longer than me remember something that might be somewhat related to this. Lol
Thanks!

that suck... return for exchange if you can.
i don't have it on mine though.
That really doesn't look right. Not only do you have a raised ridge that shouldn't be there, it looks like there's a noticeable gap between the speaker grill and the glass. On mine, there's no raised ridge, and the glass is flush to the surround all the way around the perimeter - no gap at all.

There is no gap... Just bad photography.
That's just my screen protector.
That's the thing... Everything is flush and tight... There's no wiggling, no creaking, no scratches even... Just an extra bump.

Ah. Good there's no gap. If it's solid in all other respects, I wouldn't worry.

Samsung Galaxy S4 metal rim around the display is not metal after all.
after using a pouch (not tight a bit loose) for about 10 days now, i notice that the "metal" rim below is fading and found out that is just a white plastic only with chrome plated.
its a bit disappointing that everyone knows that it is a metal frame. i should bought a protective case rather than a pouch.

What's this? Is sammy trynna mislead the consumers? -_-

Actually, it has been known that the chrome edging is just plastic, most of the reviews from the tech sites mentioned it in their reviews.
None the less, it stinks that the coating came off so quick...

Got a hard cover on mine which leaves the top and bottom edges bate but no fading as of yet. Going to be buying a gel cover in the next few days which will cover the rim.

Im using a s3 slide pouch. Maybe by taking on and off that scratches the rim. The pouch is a bit loose. Which I don't know why it fades so fast.
Yup. It's probably the rubbing on the leather inside the pouch each time you put it in and take it out. Do you take it out and put it in all the time? (Oooer).
Still shouldn't have happened though. Bad materials from Samsung.

I can live with plastic (polycarbonate) ... but hate fake metal coating
Black plain honest plastic would have been 10 times better
I have the same thing starting my replacement S4. I received it at 7pm May 16th. That is less than 48 hours later. It has been in my pocket for may 15 minutes total. Honestly have used it for maybe 1 hour. the rest of the time it's been sitting on my desk. The first S4 I had I just returned because the chrome plating cracked near the ear piece. Extremely disappointed with this device quality. Not to mention the US version I have, with the quad core qualcomm, has a bunch of lag and stuttering.
**UPDATE**

So I dropped my s4 twice within a week (im still gutted with myself) and its dented the front bezel and scratched the back one and its right on the bottom right side corner so I decided to sand it over with a nail file and it feels like new but obviously its taken the chrome of so my ? is would model paint like a chrome effect model paint work has anyone tried doing this or would it be easier to buy a new front bezel bit I've seen that the front bezel comes fixed to the screen so not an easy fix, everything else if fine the screen is in perfect condition considering how deep the dent was.
So anyone used chrome look paint on there phones...???
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
Its really hard to paint the bezel without removing it. If you succesfully removed and paint it im not sure if it will still fit because of the paint.
