So far, I've read from numerous folks who have bricked phones because they applied the update without undoing their lag fix (voodoo or OCLF). What I haven't heard is anyone confirming that they successfully were able to update after removing their lag fixes. (I've read through many posts, and i think lots of people have this same question)
Can someone please confirm that they were able to successfully update without bricking their phones after using one of the lag fix uninstallers, and if so which lag fix. I think this little piece of information would be very useful to many on the forum, and if it's been answered it'd be useful to have the answer easily available so that people don't have to dig through hundreds of posts.

I was wondering the same thing. My gf phone has oclf and rooted. I'm running a dev rom, so I cant test it on my phone.
I posted in a thread earlier asking if removing oclf and updating will brick it but nobody respond.
I'm just going to remove the lag fix for now
In the one thread a user said he received notification, but lost it after removing the lag fix
OK, I've also removed the lag fix and am waiting for the update but I'm afraid to be the guinea pig... it would suck to hvae to fix my phone.. I'm too busy!
Edit - I haven't gotten notification of update yet, will check back when I do.
Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to have threads that deals with certain specific issues, application or instructions & solutions.
This will:
1. Help to avoid clutter or repeated questions in the forum
2. Make it easier for users to navigate and look for help/solutions
Perhaps these suggestions might give some ideas:
1. App2SD thread (how tos, common problems & troubleshooting)
2. Suspicious applications (known questionable apps)
3. Google Maps thread (just an example of an app thread that might prove useful to those looking for information/solutions regarding Google Maps)
If this sounds promising, I'll be happy to help however I can. But please note that I'm a noob, so I can only lend a hand in compliling or other stuffs
If this sounds silly or can't be bothered with, then kindly ignore this. Thanks!
I like the idea when was first trying to get through rooting and flashing my phone I found all kinds of threads with different methods and it was kind of confusing. The stickiest do help out though. More subsections could help out imo.

Hey everyone,
I posted a video how to for upgrading to Gingerbread and rooting the Galaxy Tab with ODIN here: youtube.com/watch?v=RtWdNqwAETs
It took me a little while to work it all out the first time (info is spread across multiple threads etc), so I recorded the process for the second tab I upgraded and posted it to Youtube. Hope someone finds it useful.
btw first post so apologies if breaking any etiquette/rules
Cheers,
W
There have been a lot of mixed feelings about the Note 5's new direction as far as removing the micro sd card slot, no more replaceable battery, etc. I'm starting this thread for anyone that has a Note 5 and is looking for solutions/band-aids to any Note 5 issues. Here's a video covering four of the major issues and how to fix them (no micro sd, no replaceable battery, no IR blaster, slippery glass back). The main issue without a solution is the very poor RAM management. I'm still looking into a solution for that, but unfortunately that issue will likely need to be fixed by Samsung themselves via software update.
Definitely post your own solutions that weren't mentioned in the video so we can give Note 5 owners as much advice as possible.
P.S. Comments asking how to solve different issues are of course welcome, but any negative comments/lamenting about the Note 5 should go in a separate thread already started for that. Here's the link to that thread:

It's good to, you know, read the rest of the form that alread has threads on all of these things?

Just searched through the forum and found mostly complaint threads about missing features with an occasional solution to one of the problems in a single post buried in 30+ pages of posts. I didn't find anything about using a dbrand skin, getting a harmony home hub, getting a dash micro, etc. Aside from that though, the purpose of this thread was to consolidate solutions and have the post count stay very small so people could find solutions to the most common issues quickly. As far as I could find, this is currently the only "solution" thread with the exception of one thread dedicated to just the missing micro SD card slot.
Maybe if you looked in the proper forum, the Q&A one, you'd find them all?
This internet thing isn't really that hard..

Thanks i am gonna buy that wireless charger
I wouldn't call the lack of a removable battery an issue but more of a missing feature. Issues are things like app crashing or issues with earpiece etc...

Agreed... Issue = something not working as intended, not a physical design choice.

That was an extremely helpful video, thanks very much! I even subscribed to your channel! Thanks for doing it and sharing it. I'm even more inclined to get a Note 5 now after watching it.
PS - It really puzzles me that some people's response would be to criticize it on the basis that you can find the solutions separately elsewhere. It's like criticizing the invention of a smart phone by saying that you can do all the separate functions with different gadgets. (*SMH*). Please ignore those comments and keep making helpful videos!
Hello . im on the market for a new phone and most likely will be the 8Pro,
Any common problems ?
I'd recommend browsing through the questions here in this topic section for common items but, honestly, google is your friend here. I know there's a rundown on AndroidAuthority of some common problems and possible solutions, so that may also be a good place to start.
Yes, there are numerous similar threads around over the last year that can assist you...
