[THEORY] Remove Touchpad Lag in JB + Theoretically Boost GPU! - Xperia Play General

My Theory + Story, Keep parts in-mind as they come together slowly,
PT1:
Hey Guys today i wanted to SuperClean & Restart my Device, so i Attempted to type "su", Instead i typed "du" and Suddenly all file locations listed just in my face, and it took like 10 seconds as each directory was flying by and i Saw a tone of writting but a couple of listings caught my eye, It was something like "irq/"
PT2:
Like a 2 weeks ago i got a new laptop, and it had decent specs, Intel HD 3000 as a iGPU and an Intel i3 Clocked at 2.10GHz, so I downloaded Black ops 2 in Hope to get it running at a decent 30FPs at least on Multiplayer, So I Fired it up and it was at an appauling 9FPs, Casually Treyarch gave me the "Optimal" Settings or sth, but then i lowerd them down to Low and saw a big boost to about 30FPs AVG but i was still upset with the frequent FPs Drops, so instead i Google'd some ways of Boosting the Blops 2 FPs, and the First thread that came up was "FPS Tweaks for Black ops 2", So this Thread showed me how to modify the windows Prioritys, It works with IRQ's (Remember this from PT1?) so i Popped up the registry and modifyed my IRQ of my CMOS/Clock Control to 1 and my GFX Card to 2, Now black Ops 2 Was Blazin Fast, i had 50 FPs avg and the lowest drops were about 38 FPs!
PT3:
Within the Listings in Terminal Emulator (after scrolling to find it...) i found "irq/161/synaptics_touchpad", So Isnt this the touchpads in the xPlay?, Well Yes It probably is, so after scrolling down the irq list i found multiple things that could be prioritized (cypress_touchscreen = more responsiveness!, but couldent find gpu.. ), so I thought about the Touchpad Lag in JB, and so well if we were able to prioritize this then wouldent the touchpads in JB be smooth?, Theoretically YES, but it hasent been done yet!, i dont know if simply moving the folder to the "irq/1/" would prioritize this or whether lots of other things are Linked to it, so wouldent this break it?, Well Maby.. Thing is its dangerous to test this and im not even sure if this is the priority stuffs!
I hope we can get this working and finally Fix the touchpad lag at least, but dont forget this an be done for multiple pices of hardware if we can identify the hardware!,

The problem if i remember correctly is that when we touch the touchpads a lot of events starts, and this cause the lag; if you want more information look into farenheit's thread, something like a year ago he and Dan were studing the problem better

Totally wrong.
You can't edit these things, because are "virtual files" of processes that are running in your device, so the memory always is writing onto these files, and there is no content, only bits. If you have knowledge in linux /proc= process.

Theoretically Boost GPU!

Boosting GPU = Increasing lag in games.
It's a direct relationship in Xperia Play.
This is my theory

no, what we have seen is overclocking the GPU, not boost its priority,

Oh lol, well there goes my theory unless someone else can chip in to support it,
EDIT
wait wouldent moving the process then to a higher priority still work then?, its like the same?, it would still work if it were to be processes!

Tnx but i already knew this,

Guys its impossible,
After doing intensive reasearch I found out that the irq in linux cant be change withouy physical rearagement of hardware, ;(
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
EDIT
After more Reasearch, it cant be changed, for sure, as i even tried copying, cutting, renaming the synaptics touchpad file on GB only tho, also the Kernel dosent handle IRQ's so no go for that either,

nueOverClockTest + Msm7kCpuSpeed = 1056 MHz !!!

I havent experimented too much but this is the first result of the two mentioned programs mixed together (stirred , not shaken ) when installed on the X2

Just launch nueOverClockTest (it will put your CPU @ 768Mhz).
then launch Msm7kCpuSpeed (it will show 960MHz)
then exit from Msm7kCpuSpeed (our CPU will be clocked @1056MHz, you can check reopening one of the two programs).
As you can see on the screenshots the overclock works also if the phone is battery powered.
No benchmark atm, but @1056Mhz the phone is reeeallyyy a pleasure to use.
The overclock seem really working.
Navigon will take about 30 sec to start @ stock speed, but will take only 16/18 sec to start @ 1056
and how much does 1056mhz stress the cpu ?

I'm not sure that this value is correct, what' I see is an improvement on the performances and this is enough for me.
Btw the only broken cpus I saw in 27 years of IT involvement were some athlon XP powered on w/o the heat-sink, so I don't care less about the cpu stress.
where can i get the programs for this? can u give me a link?

Hi guys,
I have followed the process outlined here and it seems to be working great on the phone. Just wanted to know if you have any other programs that can be used to benchmark the performance improvement in comparison to lets say a stock X2.

Ani

Nope. For me is performing the same as before, even with Push and 3G enabled.

Mine works at 1056 MHz since Sep. 3rd without draining battery or overheating at all.
Yes apps run faster, video playback smoother even in WMP, no more glitches in music while surfing the net.
Most important is it's overall stable, no SOD or crashes here.
i have x2 freeze fr about 10 - 15 seconds. may be lacks of cabs install agter hard reset. who know. will need to re-install to check soon.
Heh
testing.. work !
WOW !! just tried overclocking a few hours ago...
I tried to hard reset to original MR2 state (without further removing slide view, panels etc whatsoever) and my X2 is more responsive and in lightning speed!

Specially Square-enix Title like Chrono Cross or Valkyrie profile with voice fixed and no lag.

Second for every android system owner:
Square enix did an announcement earlier this week about the famous Imaginary Range being nearly available For Free for Android device.
hopefully pretty soon
Here is some pics of an android device running the game from the official site:
More info there: http://blog.jp.square-enix.com/imrb/
I just hope that more and more japanese company will come to android platform and specially the Sony Xplay
Speaking of Square Titles. How does FPSE handle FF8 / FF9? . Would you be able to Test Either of these games? I was having issues with both of these using psx4droid.
Thanks for the Imaginary Range update though . I love Squarsoft ! (Err. Enix_)
There is a fix for Final fantasy games on FPSE that need to be done
Just google this and u will find many information out there
thanks kenshindono , actually just read about known issues,
Thank you anyways!
I just paid $5 for this app yesterday and can't get it to work.
It asks me to select the BIOS then keeps asking me to select it.
That's because you need to give it the proper BIOS to run the games.
Could u give a link to where i could get the iso/rom for the second pic

What do you mean by "voice fixed"? Valkyrie Profile's developers smartly inserted synchronization "checks" via the game's voice sound files into multiple parts of the games to prevent emulators from progressing further into the game. The first "check" is near the beginning of the game, where Lenneth and Freya are about to teleport down below into Midgard.
Are you saying that version 0.10.48 is able to bypass these "checks"? I have not been able to get version 0.10.48 to bypass these "checks". And for the record, I have not been able to get the lastest version, 0.10.54, to bypass these checks either.
Were you able to do so?

As expected, because you were at the first "check" that I had described in my first post. The game did not continue because simply emulating a PS1 is not likely to pass the "checks".
OP seemed to have implied that v0.10.48 has a way to bypass the "checks", but I am not sure and have not found a way myself. So, I am asking for clarification.

Fortunately, no. I can run it on my phone. About bugs - I mean many missing graphics, misplaced too, game sometimes can lag for a second or two, animals sometimes are spinning around very fast. And one funny thing - sometimes when you hit a sheep with a wooden sword, its head rapidly moves up and down (from normal position to the ground).

Affirmative, this stupid bug again. I thought it was fixed for good with Survival update but it's again present. Ah... Mojang, Mojang
Uses up battery like crazy
And picking up multiple numbers of the same item sometimes.goes in one slot
So instead of 10 mud blocks, you have 10 sets of 1 mud block
Quite annoying
YES! I have been waiting for crafting for a long time, and it's finally here... although not implemented like the PC version and way less blocks.
You know, there was this game called "Crafted" for iOS, a 2D minecraft rip-off complete with copied textures and sounds, it had been wandering around the App Store before the staff finally caught them and removed it. It was nice though, it resembled the PC version completely up to version Beta 1.7.3, just 2D in a Terraria-fashioned style. It even had a nice crafting system based on a one-item/stack toggling drag/drop system I'd really like to see implemented in Minecraft PE, but since it never caught Mojang's attention, only Apple's, I guess we'll have to wait for them to realize perhaps a better crafting system.
Android version alpha 0.3.1 (which is still called alpha 0.3.0 so you probably haven't noticed there's a new update) fixes the texture problems and other stuff.
Resource hunting is pretty difficult since there aren't cave formations yet, and we'll probably see them in an update next month or via modding, but hey, look what I've found :

FPS capped at 59 with every kernel or tweak

I have a problem,my nexus 7 (as the title suggests) will not pass 59 fps. I've tried various roms, kernels and tweaks.
I'm not New to android and my sensation gets 70+ fps benchmarking, anyone know of any reason for my woes?
Getting really annoying to be honest. My sensation is ranked #1 in its device section of antutu and I want to push the nexus just as far

thats how it is, 59fps is the limit. kernel developers can raise the panel frequency, which can raise the fps to 109. but its not real, so they stopped doing that. what was your highest antutu, i bet i beat it with my n7. anyways, your 59fps on your n7 is is better than what you get on your sensation, you failed to take in account screen size, more pixels to push.
Thanks for the reply, i get 8229 with my sensation clocked at 1836mhz and with my N7 clocked at 1800mhz i get 9815 on antutu. Seems a bit naff to be quite frank, my dual core phone can nearly bench the same as the Tegra quad. I found some kernels with the fps limit disabled and i still only get 59 fps

i get 12000-16000 on antutu depending which kernel im using(and cpu speed), at 59fps. but its the screen size really that is the difference. and antutu isnt a good benchmark for graphic performance. its outdated and the test itself limits the scores.
here, nearly twice your sensation.. id say youre using the wrong rom/kernel

Thats more like what i expect the score to be like! Just to check without starting a thread.... Is the latest bootloader 3.34?
To be fair i am severely disappointed with this device, never had any problems with any if the HTC devices and within 3 days of owning this the micro usb cable has fallen apart, the screen has lifted in one corner and is displaying stress marks on the LCD trying to contact google or asus is becoming a stressful task.
What ROM is eveyone using? I'm guessing cyanogenmod??
I just run stock. It doesn't matter what rom/kernel I wind up running, it never seems to be as stable in the long term as the stock setup. Since I have bought my N7 I have flashed a ton of roms to it, when heading back to stock for a while out of boredom I found that I have an up time of well over a month now. I never got that lucky with custom roms after a week or two I always had to reboot it because of random issues including lagging and slow performance, to apps misbehaving.

I dont think so, i think hes doing them game by game at the moment.....not like traditional emulators, but you never know, maybe some point down the line, if its technically possible......which to me, its seems like all the ingredients are there.
From what i understand hes figured out a way to convert x86 ?binaries? on the fly [JIT], to something arm can understand, and bypassing some[all?] of the emulation and saving some of the processing power that normally gets used by that emulation. Is that a first for android emulation technique?i dont know
He gives a much better account of it on his blog

make RA2 Happen!!!
I played it some last night on my note. The S-pen makes it a lot easier to navigate through the menus in the game. The only thing I didn't like was the always touch the screen was a left click. I accidently destroyed some buildings because I had the shovel selected and built some in places I didn't want to since its a little hard to position exactly since it builds right away. But as far as performance I played for about 30 minutes and only used 5% battery and it ran perfect. No lag or slow downs. Loads up fast. You do have to put the games on built in sdcard since the program only seems to scan for games there and its not configurable.
still trying to get a hold of the game lol

5% in 30 minutes, thats impressive......thats a total average of 10 hours playtime, not to shabby........although i suspect different games will vary depending on how graphic intensive they are
Glad to hear it runs smoothly, saw one or two videos, and was wondering if the whole game played as smooth, glad to hear it does
How are the control widgets, are they implemented well
