[Q] Help! S4 stuck on Samsung S4 Screen - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys
Appologies if this has been asked before (I cant find) but my 2 week old S4 started playing up yesterday by constantly rebooting. It did this about 5 times whilst in touchwiz and then it would get as far as the Samsung logo with the blue glow, wait for about 10 mins and then reboot.
It now is stuck on the Galaxy S4 screen and wont do nothing.
Ive tried to get into recovery (Vol+ Home Power) and get the blue reboot top left and then nothing.
Hope somebody can help

ok first of all turn off your phone. then hold volume up and power. when the Samsung Galaxy S4 Screen comes out stop holding the buttons. then it will ask you if you wanna go into the recovery and you say continue (vol +) then your in the recovery and go to wipe data and wipe cache. (up and down with vol+ and vol- and click with the power button. after the wipe reboot system

Tried all ways of getting to get into the recovery menu but it just sits at Recovery Booting....

Cant get into recovery after bad flash?

i downloaded todays update from CM 11 (d800 on att) and did the automatic reboot/flash but now im stuck on the CM11 loading screen. I left it there for an hour and it just keeps spinning. I can't seem to get to CMW recovery with the power+vol down combo (ive read different things, pressing power three times, etc) and nothing seems to work. Id REALLY like to not have to wipe this phone because ive got texts from a friend who recently passed and they arent backed up. any help would be incredible. THanks!!

Your chances of getting back into that phone without wiping are slim to none.
Here are the issues I've noticed with the power volume down scenario.
you can not be plugged into an outlet. you can't just hold power and volume down.
1)Get to the screen your bootlooping at.
2)Hold power until it reboots.
3)As soon as you feel the vibration of the phone as it starts press volume down and power
4)As soon as you see the LG Logo pop up release and then repress and hold volume down and power again.
5)Now press the enter button three times in the factory data reset screen and it will boot you into recovery.

GT-i9500 boot loop with a difference

So I have a GT-i9500, its a year old and it started with a little problem.
A few months ago it got stuck in a boot loop, the one where it gets stuck on the Galaxy S4 logo. I pushed the power button a few times and it booted properly.
Well its now stuck in that boot loop again and no matter the amount of times I play with the power button I can't get it out of the boot loop.
I have tried everything.
Here are some of the issues:
If I put the battery in the phone boots automatically.
If I try the POWER + VOL DOWN + HOME combo I get into the download mode but then it restarts and goes back into the boot loop
I can't put it into recovery mode, it just fails to respond to the POWER + VOL UP + Home combination.
I have tried different batteries, I've left the phone without a battery for days to see if it would fix the issue. Nothing works.
Any suggestions or insights?

[Q] Note 3 Recovery Booting Loop

I think I may have bricked my phone. I have a Verizon Note 3 - rooted - running Kit Kat with Safe Strap. In the power menu (accessed when I hold the power button down) I accidentally selected boot into recovery mode. Now my phone is stuck in an endless boot loop. It powers on to the 'Note 3 - Custom' screen with blue text at the top that says "Booting recovery..." then it shuts down and starts over again and refuses to actually boot into recovery mode. I've tried taking out the battery and sim card, with no luck... the same result. Can anyone think of a way to troubleshoot given that I cant even get the phone to boot at all? Thank you.

It doesn't sound like your phone is bricked... it just sounds like you're stuck in a bootloop, which is usually fixable.
Try removing the battery again and leaving it out about 10 mins... also press down the power button on the phone for 10 seconds or so with the battery out to discharge any remaining power still in the device. Put battery back in after a bit and see if you can boot into stock recovery (by pressing volume up+home button+power button all at same time). If it lets you boot into stock recovery, see if just wiping the cache allows it to boot back up. If that doesn't work, pull battery... reinsert... boot back into stock recovery and do a factory reset (that will wipe all your data as I'm sure you know, so that's why I thought wiping cache first may be worth a try--even though wiping cache alone probably won't work). Hopefully, you have made a TWRP backup in safestrap that you can use to restore if you have to factory reset.
If you can't get into stock recovery manually.... or if you can and wiping cache or factory reset doesn't work, then you could boot into Odin mode (by pressing volume down+home button+power button all at same time), and restore the phone back to KitKat 4.4.2 with Odin. Droidstyle has put together a great guide to help restore the phone which you can find here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46461911
I hope this helps you get it fixed. Good luck!
I was reading through older forum posts and came across this thread which may help with some other ideas if you couldn't get into stock recovery to fix it with a wipe.... ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56087194 ).
A couple of the suggested fixes in the thread may be easier than using Odin to go back to stock.

After odin restore to stock stuck in boot loop fix

Hey all I have a super simple fix if you get stuck after a full restore back to stock. If you get stuck in the boot loop where all you see is the Samsung logo its usually do to the data partition being corrupt. To fix this do the following
hold the power button till it turns off.
Hold the power and the volume up button til you see the samsung ..... 10.1 message on the screen.
At this point you can take your finger off the power button but still hold the volume up till you get into recovery.
Once you get into recovery, wipe data then cache and do a factory reset.
Once its done your boot loop should be resolved.

Nexus 10 tries to boot but keeps failing

My daughters Nexus 10 has recently stopped working. Every time we turn it on the Google Logo appears and then the android balls spinning logo appears, but at that point the tablet reboots back to the Google Logo.
So far I've pressed Power + Vol Up + Vol Down and chose recovery mode. This then reboots and I get a android image with the words 'No Command' - I managed to get out of that I think by Power and Vol Up to get into the recovery mode. I chose wipe cache partition and rebooted but the tablet still goes back into a loop when booting. I then went back into the recovery mode and chose wipe data / factory reset. Again it goes back into the boot up loop. But now all I can do is press Power + Vol Up + Vol Down which gets me to an android image with the words 'Downloading - do not turn off target!'
Any ideas? Ideally I'd like to get the tablet back to a factory image so I can sell it. I've already wiped my tablet and given it to my daughter to stop her from moaning!!
Thanks

Have you tried using the factory images from Google and resetting it that way. A factory reset in the stock recovery won't do much except wipe the data, apps, etc. If theres something wrong with the system, that won't fix it. That's where the factory images come in.
