GT-i9500 boot loop with a difference - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have a GT-i9500, its a year old and it started with a little problem.
A few months ago it got stuck in a boot loop, the one where it gets stuck on the Galaxy S4 logo. I pushed the power button a few times and it booted properly.
Well its now stuck in that boot loop again and no matter the amount of times I play with the power button I can't get it out of the boot loop.
I have tried everything.
Here are some of the issues:
If I put the battery in the phone boots automatically.
If I try the POWER + VOL DOWN + HOME combo I get into the download mode but then it restarts and goes back into the boot loop
I can't put it into recovery mode, it just fails to respond to the POWER + VOL UP + Home combination.
I have tried different batteries, I've left the phone without a battery for days to see if it would fix the issue. Nothing works.
Any suggestions or insights?

Stuck in Boot Loop after Stock Restore

Stuck in a boot loop after attempting to restore my T-Mobile 801.
It boots up to the T-Mobile splash screen does its little ding a ling thing then 10 seconds later restarts the loop.
I used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Any other ideas?
Looks like I got it, I did a factory reset on top of it and seems to be working again.
Can you tell me exactly what you did? I seem to be having a similar problem with the Verizon G2 and can't get anything working.

After I ran the factory flashing tool, the phone would boot loop (I think most likely because the settings and profile from the last rom wasn't reset by the tool.)
So what I did was use the factory recovery option in the phone by doing the following.
1. Power down the phone (Hold power for 15 Seconds)
2. Press and Hold Vol Down and Power
3. Quickly after seeing the LG logo release the power (while holding Vol Down still) then pressing and holding the power again. You should get a white screen asking if you want to reset your phone press Power to Confirm twice.
A little android pops up and does some work then reboots your phone. The phone should boot after that.

S4 boot loop - does not boot up system nor recovery nor download

I tried this with several batterys
but my s4 does not boot up the system nor the recovery nor the download
it shows the S4 logo and than does not boot further
when trying to boot the recovery it shows s4 logo and recory booting but than stops
while trying to boot up download mode it shows the download screen for half a second and than goes black
It only boots until the boot loop when i remove the battery and put it back, the power button has no use any more
what can I do
could be a hardware problem? but i have i sent it to warranty, they will find that i flashed the ROM

Hi
Mate check your power button ( also volume up and down) it may be stuck
i have the same problem with i9500
but all the buttons are clear no stuck button with me !!
I agree it could be your power button. Same thing happens to me sometimes.
It may not feel like it's stuck, but it is.
Put it on it's side w/the power button and gently keep tapping it on a flat hard surface. it should jolt the button loose and power on like normal.

Phone bricked... Totally...

Hello all. Since nougat update my phone has started having boot up issues. I had software update a month ago and after it was updated it failed to boot up. It just froze on Samsung logo screen and i had to wait for the battery to drain to start it again. So that time it started after a good few tries. Now last night it had another software update and again after it was finished it rebooted and failed to boot up. Gets stuck on logo screen/ samsung screen. I tried booting in safe mode.. nothing ... gets stuck again on black screen and have to wait for battery to drain. When it gets stuck i can't do anything not even reboot with any of the buttons. I've tried going into recovery mode but once it boots in recovery it shows Installing System Update or something simmilar and in 1 second gets stuck untill battery is drained again. So basically i can't do anything on it. It won't boot up in normal/safe mode or recovery mode... Any suggestions ? I've tried samsung switch on my PC but it needs the phone into recovery mode and i can't get this far. What else is there to do ?
I managed to get it into download mode and flash a new stock firmware... It installed without error and when the phone boot and apply the updates then rebooted again and still go stuck after Galaxy S7 Edge Logo. Got past that and froze on the SAMSUNG logo. After that just blue LED and black screen... Can't switch it off now , gotta wait for it to drain the battery...

It doesn't work. Once it gets stuck nothing works. I've tried everything.
It just freezes completely... Vol Down + Power doesn't work either when it freezes...
Wish they made phones like before so you can just take the battery out...

Psm-p900 not booting into recovery mode

Hi,
Have this old thing, and charged it up after years, and am trying to get into it, but realized I had a lock screen
and password I can't remember
So I'm trying to get into recovery to restore it to default, but when holding Home+Volume up + Power it boots to this screen
and not recovery. I am pretty sure I haven't moded the boot loader and firmware
Anyone know how to get into the recovery? or any other way to get past the lock screen?
In doing some research, that is the download mode. But someone else had the same problem and instead of holding the Volume Up, the Held the volume down on a Galaxy Tab and it worked.
When I try Volume down, If I keep the buttons held, it goes in a loop. And if I release them when I see the logo, it boots into a black screen powered on, but no menu shows up
if the recovery is incorrect for the device (wrong model) it'll send you straight to that screen.
solved by flashing one for the model you have.

[SM-A205G] Stuck on upgrade. Unable to enter recovery mode. I have tried everything.

Hello!
My SM-A205G decided it was time for an update. After rebooting it's stuck at 100% and after several hours it doesn't move, except when it runs out of battery.
I've tried getting to recovery mode using the traditional key combination. I've tried releasing the keys after the logo shows up, keeping pressed after the logo shows up. Pressing only volume up and both power and volume up. I've also tried plugging an USB at the same time I try to get into recovery, but it always boots normally and goes to the process of loading from 0 to 100 and getting stuck at 100. The loading animation also freezes when it reaches 100.
Is there anything I can do to get out of this loop? I attach a picture of the screen I can see.
Thanks in advance
