You are trying to flash the older stock zips with a new recovery (CWM 6.0.3.1 or the newest TWRP). The older zips are not compatible with them. Go to my NC Tips thread linked in my signature and get CWM version 5.5.0.4 on SD (item A10) and use that to flash the stock ROM. I have a link to the latest stock ROM there too (item A15).

version 5.5.0.4 CWM installed but still get error status 0 could it be the sd card?

Do you have both the stock recovery zip and the rom zip on your sd? There may not be room to expand the zip. Try deleting the ROM zip and just have the stock recovery zip on the SD. Then try flashing it.

Hello xda experts!!!!! I really need some help!!! The thing is like this : I have installed cm10 alpha 1 for nook on sd card!!! While i was installing it my nook color was also connected to the computer. So in WinImage i accidently chose the 1 gb of nook color instead of the 32 gb sandisk class 10 which i had inserted in pc via card reader. So it began writing on nook color's internal 1 gb memory. More to that, I interrupted this procedure and performed full format in minitool partition manager. i didnt knew the format of internal memory of nook color so i chose fat32 formatting style. But when i rebooted nook color after disconnecting it kept on showing message that system has encountered some issue and it requires the system to restart. But even after reboot the same error kept on showing up!!!!! And since yesterday the stock b&n OS has stopped working completely!!! Doesnt even show the error which it previously used to show!!! Plz resolve this error and help ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was running CMW with CM10.1 and I tried to install TWRP using the manager app, bit I think I chose the wrong model and now I am stuck with a loop of the nook logo at the beginning. I cant even boot from sd card or anything. Does somebody have an idea how to fix this?

You probably messed up you partitions. Go to my NC partition repair thread linked in my signature. But you will somehow have to get the NC to boot to SD. Also make sure you really have a Color instead of a Nook Tablet. Colors have a black bezel and Tablets have a grey one.

infact I do have an Nook HD+. Problem is I cant get it to boot from SD. I already tried the HD+ bootable CMW-Images u posted in ur other thread, however it never gets out of the nook-logo loop. It seems like the partitions are so messed up that it cant boot from sd... could one somehow solve this by connection the thing to a pc?

My system started as a 1.3 NC, that I successfully rooted using nooter, but a year ago last Oct ( 2011 ) and OTA update removed my rooting. After a couple weeks, someone posted a "fix" that restored my root access, but also bocked the OTA update.
A few weeks ago, I screwed up and mistakenly tried to install a Android Market update, and it BROKE my system. So I desided that this was a great time to update the NC to it's current OS level ( 1.4.3 ) and tried to follow the instructions on restoring the NC to "factory" fresh state... but thats where it started to go wrong!
Using the clockwork recovery sdcard I used to root the system, it FAILED to erace / format the Data area, probubly because I "fixed" it when I had the problem over a year ago with the OTA update.
Now no matter who's instructions I follow, I can't get that data section deleted so I can restore the system,
What I want to do restore/update the NC to current level, and THEN to reroot.
Currenly, the ONLY way I can use the NC is with the newest N2A image on a sdcard, but there is a huge speed penalty that way!
Can ANYONE help!
Thanks in Advance!
Tom

Thanks for the help... so far!
Did as suggested, created the card ( CWM-6.0.1.2-bootable_SD ) and loaded the "nookcolor_1_4_3_signed.zip" onto it.
Was successful in formatting the system , boot and cashe AND the Data directory! Restarted CWM and was able to run the 1.4.3 zip completely. Rebooted from CWM menu after removing the SD card from the NC....
...but now the NC hangs at the "N" screen.
So, what did I do wrong? What next?
Thanks in advance!

First off... a HUGE Thank You!
It looks like it's back to my pre-rooted NC.... so, if I understand this correcly, it's NOT rooted, and I still have to do that.
Any suggestions of the best rooting utility?

Hi leapinlar and tomsheeley,
Due to 10 posts rule I cannot reply to eyeballer's thread (I'll send him a pm instead). tomsheeley might try TWRP 2.3.1.0 after he root his NC as more friendly. Today I tried to upgrade to TWRP 2.4.1.0 available in #129 post. The problem I had with fixing permissions was solved by deleting the folder emmc/TWRP using a root explorer (I use Root Browser Lite free from market).
The problem is common I think with SGS+ and I found it by watching this thread.
Thanks and sorry for posting here but watching that you are posting in fattire's thread and I think my feedback might helps.
So guys i have bricked my nook. Doesn't turn on or anything no screen flashing or anything. if anyone could help me on this i would appreciate it.
Well i was on cm 10 and 10.1 for a while and i finally decided to try other roms. i installed every rom on my internal so not my sd card. (my sd is 32 gig sandisk class 10 ultra). so i updated my recovery to flash more roms and when i did cwm didnt read all my backups. cwm only read my cm7 backup and cm10 backup. (using clockwork recovery). So first i installed SCHIZOID p.a.c. rom. But on that rom everytime i wanted to boot up i would have to full wipe + reflash rom without it getting into a bootloop. Then i tried Mirage's cm7.2 rom. When i flashed that rom, the loading bar in cwm would get too about 3 quarters and BAM! My nook would turn off and only load the bootloader. so from the bootloader i opened up cwm recovery and went straight to my backup, and apparently, dumbass cwm says theres no boot.img or system.img and data.img....etc in my cm7 backup. so i went to my cm10 backup and that said md5 mismatch. WTF??? So i tried to reflash Mirage's cm7.2 rom and BAM! same thing happen, but about 7/8ths of the bar was filled before it force shut down by itself. But this time i cant access the bootloader and i have it ultimateley hard bricked.
so please if anyone has any un-hard brick or jtag repair threads or anything i would appreciate it. And would a bootable sd fix this? the screen wont turn on/flash or anything so im not sure if it will load the sd card
Edit: I've found out that plugging the nook to my computer and holding the power button for 20+ seconds makes my computer make a sound that my windows machine recognizes the nook but then it quickly makes another sound and my computer doesn't recognize/thinks the nooks disconnected

The reason it appears to not turn on is your boot files in the boot partition are corrupt.
The way the NC boots is it turns on without the screen on and looks for valid boot files first in the SD and then in the internal boot partition. If it finds some, it turns the screen on and continues the boot. If it finds none, it immediately turn off without ever turning the screen on. That Windows beep is the short turn on/turn off sequence.
So the solution is to make a bootable CWM SD per the thread the last user referenced and boot to that. Then you can flash a valid ROM and it should repair itself. If it does not successfully flash a ROM then go to my partition repair thread linked in my signature and follow instructions there.

how do i boot into cwm? I get a explanation mark in a triangle in a nook saying that it needs to connect to power, I did let it charge and tried holding the power button + nook key + volume up to boot into and when it does i get the sign that says i need to connect to power. Once charged, would it boot me into cyanoboot, and then from there go to cm? (I'm using slow charge since I lost the nook charging kit so I use the nexus 4 or samsung galaxy s2 t989 charger). and I put my cm10.1 may 31st rom on the sd card + gapps, so when I do boot in cwm, can I access it and flash it?
edit:nvm got cwm working. But u cant flash a rom.
I wipe everything (data, cache, system, dalvik) and then when i hit chose zip from sdcard it says:

Opening update package...

set_perm: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/cm-10.1-20130531-nightly-encore.zip

How did you try the partition repair if you can't get the bootable SD to boot?
It is very difficult to make a bootable CWM SD that will actually boot in the Nook Color. Look at my NC Tips thread linked in my signature at item A9.
It is likely not bricked, just in need of repair. Make sure you have it charged and follow the steps in A9.

Where did you get 6.0.5.2? It should be 6.0.3.2. And which device are you running? How are you choosing to boot to recovery?

Hmm, that is strange. Mine reboots the first time to CWM. What version of the ROM are you running?

If it keeps doing that, you might want to report it as a bug in verygreen's emmc thread to see if others have the issue.

Can I just download the CM10 Zip and Gapps to my SD card and flash from recovery? Or do I really need to format a SD card extract then burn image onto card etc....?

Do you already have CWM on internal memory? If so, you can use it to flash both CM10.1 and gapps. You can try doing it without factory reseting CM7 first. If it runs ok, leave it, but if you start having force closings, etc, do a factory reset later. No need to reflash.

Ahhhh yeah I couldnt wait any longer. Formatted a card, burned image, and flashed. No big deal. It was quicker than I remembered. But its good to know going forward I can just download right to my Nook and flash with recovery ( Yeah I have it installed ).
Running very nice right now. I mainly use this to watch Netflix before bed and found the Netflix 1.8.1. Apk to work great. Plays better and looks better than it did on my CM7 install. Im just blown away by how well this runs. I wasnt expecting this.
