Staples/bureau en gros replacement plan - Nexus 7 (2013) General

So today I called at my local staples , I live o in Montreal and asked them if they had any 2013 nexus 7 in store , they said yes so I went to buy one.
A sales guy told me that if I get a replacement plan, in 1 year I could come back to the store, tell that the item doesn't suits my needs anymore and they would give me a gift card of the value that I paid the tablet.
I was very on my guard and asked the guy many time if it would work, he said yes, and told me that's what he do with his camera , so he get a new one each year.
Finally I paid for the replacement plan and at the cash he gave me the tablet with the warranty info.
Back home was reading the warranty and there no mention of replacement the way he told me.
My question is, have any of v you had any luck with this replacement plan and does it work the way he told me?
If not I will go back to the store to get a refund , i will go back to the store to get a refund.

That's the warranty terms.

I think it was close to 75$ with taxes.........
I didn't want to leave the store with $360+ total on my bill and get an answer the next year

Call and ask to talk to the store manager. Get it in writing since it is not there, if they are going to do what you were told.

Good idea, but until then should I use the tablet or leave it in the box, cuz now I have a brand new nexus 7 and it's killing me to not use it.

Use it, you have 14 days to decide if you want to keep it. The clock is ticking! Don't open it like it's a christmas present though!

I did not paid 75 , I paid 35 for the basic coverage but the guy told me about that replacement thing, 75 dollars is when you take the basic coverage plus if you drop it, liquid on it and things like that your covered.

You should be able to go back within the 14 days and get a refund.

If you just bought a NS4G at Best Buy Get refund today (8/17/11)

So I recently purchased a NS4G from Best Buy ($100 + tax for 2 year upgrade). Today, however, they are free at Best Buy! So if you purchased a NS4G for Sprint in the last 30 days, bring your receipt in to your local Best Buy and they will refund your money! I was told you don't even need to bring in the phone, just receipt. I'm heading there right now lol

Did they mean you have to go to the same BestBuy location you bought it from to have the difference given back to you or are you saying that you're trying to get a refund on something you bought at ANOTHER retailer that is not BestBuy?

Also - I got my NS4G from Sprint.com a few weeks back (within the 30 day policy) and got $100 credited to my account when I brought up BestBuy's promotion. It's worth asking Sprint if you got it from them.

I called sprint customer service and they said they can't credit it to my account. He said I can return the phone and go to best buy and get it from them. I might just go to the actual store where I got my phone see if they can do something lol.

FWTW, my local BestBuy just confirmed this for me, saying its a part of their price match plus program. I'm headed over to cash in on my refund from the 8th of this month.

like really.. i was set to buy 4 of them for my family on my family line.. decided to wait a day to discuss it with everyone and then this crap.. SUX tmobile lied..
i was about to get the phone @ best buy tho for $99...

Yup, go to their website (http://www.staples.com/Google-Nexus-7-8GB-Tablet/product_949286), and check which store has them. Then call the ones that have them just to double check that they actually do have them. And ask them to hold it for you.

Use your common sense buddy.
They will be bankrupt if they would allow customer to keep both devices...
Every one would damage their device and ask for replacement.

Just a heads up, any warranty you buy through Staples is an extended warranty...so you'll still have to go through Google/Asus for the first year after purchase. They won't honor it earlier.
You also better make a secure copy of your receipt, you're gonna need it.

Why should it? If he owns the bill everything should be okay. Sold a phone once wich still was in warranty period. Just copied the Bill and everything was OK.

Might work that way in the US, but in the UK a warranty isn't always transferable regardless of having the original POP because the device is technically 2nd hand and most warranties state it's for the original purchase only - definitely that way for the company I work for. If the original owner registered the unit for warranty then you're screwed. If not, you might be able to get away with it

Yes you can...I had a similar issue...bought off craigslist...screen had major flicker issues....if you get a hold of the person who sold you the phone and have them give you the receipt..then you can RMA it only through LG because its from t-mobile...mine was bought from google so google has the RMA processed.

The phone i am needing a replacement on is a phone i got from craigslist. i don't have the receipt but the phone had never been turned on before i was the one to open the box. I don't have the receipt for the phone. So please someone who had been through this before can you give me some insight

If you did not purchase the device from Google Play you'll have to contact LG for warranty service. http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-LGE960
If its from T-Mobile call customer care and get a warranty exchange if your phone line has the the device warranty.
