Hi,
I installed titanium backup [the latest one] on CM10.2 Now when I try to backup anything at all, it tells me that There is insufficient space for data storage! There is something wrong here. Does anyone know how to fix it? Please help. I've already tried a clean install of the rom but this problem persists.
Thanks
You have the newest version? Anyways try to go to menu - preferences - select backup location -detect - select whole device and pick the one that says legacy.
Should work.

Seems quite suspicious now. I actually tried these:
1. delete any instance of tibu from internal storage / data
2. delete any instance of tibu from /data/data
3. reinstall tibu (without key) -> backup worked!
4. reinstalled the key -> backup failed due to insufficient storage
5. Configured backup location from /emulated/0 to /legacy/ -> backup worked perfectly again.
Thanks for the quick answer!

Hi Guys
I have the rom that you can see in my signature. I'd like to know if, when I'll install the JVH 2.3.3 ROM, I can restore my saved apps with TitaniumBackup without problems.
Thanks
Yes, just remember not to restore system apps. It is also best in my experience not to batch restore but do it one by one, and for most of them just restore the app, not data. Only restore app+data when you really need whatever settings were in the app.

so if i restore app+ data, would I be able to restore the game save files?
like for baseball game..i developed my player to be really good (trained for many hours)
i dont want to lose him
lkh5650, saves are in these programs and will be restored along with them.
I am moving from 2.2.1 to 2.3.3 using Titanium restored all the programs, their data and some system data, as pim (log of calls can not be restored). Everything else I do not advise.

thanks for the reply
does that mean i only need to restore the app?? i dont have to restore app+data?
lkh5650, I always choose "Restore all apps with data", and then remove the check mark in the list of unnecessary items (all red - is a system software, and optionally the green - leaving only pim).
Thanks guys!
However, I backup the 90% of the "user apps" (I exclude big games and so on). Then there is no chance to restore system apps or something like this.
Thank you again!

Note that you can't revert SMS/MMS from 2.3.3 to 2.2.1 with TB, the database are incompatibles.

Contacts/Texts/(+other system data) is okay from 2.2.1 -> 2.3.3
However, if you backup system data from 2.3.3 and restore it to 2.2.1 you will get force closes.
So you can upgrade and keep your data, but can't revert

Or just save all that to Google or your SIM card and restore as needed.

my experience
hey guys,
i moved from JPJ 2.2.1 to JVB 2.3.3 with all ease and no probs at all. even restored all my messages and contacts. here's what i did.
1. backup eveything with titanium. all of it.
2. use go sms to backup all your sms's.
3. use contacts to export ur contacts to sd.
4. flash JVB da way u want.
5. once ur on 2.3.3 and running all well. install TB. goto batch option. click restore missing apps. in the menu select apk only. and recheck all apps are user apps only. if there is a system app (in green or red) deselect it.
And voila! all ur apps are back. now u can pick and choose wich ones u want to restore data for. personally i found restoring data for games is no problem.
6. via my files app goto ex-sd card and find out the .vcf file that was created by contacts and click it. itl will restore all ur contacts.
7. reinstall go sms. and restore your messages.
8. create a nandroid as quickly as you can so u can avoid all the inconvenience and simply restore data from nandroid when u change to another gingerbread from this one.
Cheers! and happy flashing
Hello Everyone,
I fully expect to blow up my phone again tonight screwing around with the bands.
Before I do a full reset, can anyone recommend how to easily backup/restore the Note:
My restore process last time was:
<After factory reset>
1) Root the phone:
Turn on Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging
Turn on Settings -> Applications -> unknown sources
Run the Zergrush script to root
< This assumes you have done it before and have everything set up already - see other threads for setting up zergrush if you haven't rooted your phone before.>
2) Install Titanium backup root
Restore all apps+System Data
3) Delete and re-place all widgets <---This sucks! How can I avoid this?!!?
4) Run Apps that load their own data when you first run them.
(I suspect this can be avoided if you backup/restore the /sdcard directory)
Other side notes:
I could swear Titanium backup did not correctly restore the s-memo data.
I see the correct 'number' of s-memos, but 90% of them were blank.
I had to do more junk, but I suspect I just hadn't done a titanium backup
Anyway, if anyone can give me any suggestions regarding #3 or #4 that would be appreciated.
- Frank
I've personally never used it, but doesn't nandroid just make an entire backup of the internal flash chip? Kind of like ghost imaging a computer hard drive?
Don't restore all apps+System Data. Only do restore all apps.

+1, otherwise you will copy system data of your old phone in the Note. This will result with many bugs n lags...

Restore missing app + data is gud option
b'coz ne preinstalled app may not overwrite with this
flash a ROM with CWM then use it to make a nandroid backup.

Just found out that if you open and edit a note the content re-appears - so it is saved and restored with Titanium, but has to be recreated from the dataset. I have so many memos that I wish there was a quicker way to restore them than to open each one.
I have always backed up al user apps on my current phone. then copied the Titanium backup folder to my new device.
then install titanium backup on the new device and select "restore missing apps with data".
I did this with my AT&T SIII to my AT&T S4. When I go into titianium backup - therea re no missing apps with data.
what am I doing wrong??? I have years of "Angry bird" progress that I want back, lol!!

open titanium backup, hit menu then go to preference and under backup settings change your backup folder location to the one you copied to your device. In my case i keep mine on my extsdcard.

Hello, using Nexus 4 16GB.
Total storage: 12.92 GB
Free storage: 6.25 GB
So titanium backup won't make backups because small free space. Ia there any way how to backup directly to dropbox?
Or have you got any other solution?

6 GB of free space should be well sufficient for full backup(s). Which android version you're using? 4.2.2 or 4.3?
Oh sorry, using latest Paranoid Android w/ 4.3

Do you have root? Developer options -> Root access -> Apps and ADB
Can you see the "Use the current folder" to light up before changing the location? Menu -> Refresh app list.
Yes I have root. Where can I find this 'Apps & ADB' thing?

Hello guys, another question.
Is there any way to run backup everytime I plugged device into charger? Now I have automatic backup everyday at 6:00am but sometimes I don't charging device at this time and TBP drains my battery if backuping. Thank you
I flash to KitKat factory image from CM10.2 (wiped everything including my internal memory), and then I flash to CM11 nightly and use titanium backup to restore only my app data. and here is where the problem comes in, none of my data is restoring from Titanium, although it says data restore completed in titanium, it actually isn't. Every apps force close when I open it after restoring. After that if I restart my phone, those app that i restored will be disappeared from my app drawer, it didn't appear in settings -> app either, if i try to install again it won't install, only way is to manually search for the apk file through file manager and delete it. I cant restore anything from titanium backup! FYI, I only backup the data of the app, not including the apk, but after restoring the app force close and restarting my phone the whole app gone missing from my app drawer. I can't lose all my data. what can I do? please help :crying::crying:
Another question, every time after u guys flash a new rom do u restore the old android ID or use new one in titanium backup?
Latest update of TB has caused some issues for many people. For me, on some roms, it fc's when I click an app to restore. Try googling for an apk of a previous version, and see if the problem persists. Regarding the id, you can keep the new one. Some functions might not work properly though, like location update. You can go into your settings for your Google account on a computer and withdraw access rights for apps and devices, then everything is fine. Hope this helps. Good luck!
