I have a Nexus 7 (2012) that was rooted and unlocked and I am trying to return it to stock 4.2.2 with the Nexus Root Toolkit v 1.6.6 since 4.3 fails to install OTA.
However the program stops after entering fastboot and wont flash the stock image. I tried it on two different computers with the same result.
Im at a loss why it wont flash the stock 4.2.2.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Still cant flash to stock with Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.6
Thoughts, anyone please.
You said it was rooted and unlocked, I guess you also have a custom recovery installed?
try downloading a flashable stock image(go search for it) and just flash it. Or you could just install other ROMs like PA or Cyanogen.
Thanks for your reply. It is appreciated.
I used the Nexus Root Toolkit to unlock and get root access, however I didnt install a custom recovery. Not sure where to go from here.

In short, I rooted my nexus 7 and downloaded twrp today. I've never rooted anything before but I successfully rooted and installed twrp to my nexus. Along the setup of flashing a rom in twrp, I accidentally deleted everything. The only things I can access is the Google screen with the unlock icon and twrp. My computer is recognizing the nexus as an unspecified android device. Is there any way to flash the original stock rom because now I'm stuck with a brand new nexus that can't do anything? Please help!

I had to do the same thing the other day. I used the method ngoralph just mentioned. Easy peasy. Also after you use option 9 you may want to just go ahead and use option 8. Yes it installs CWM but you can just flash TWRP afterwards if you prefer.
Option 9 worked perfectly. Did not screw up the second time. Thanks for all your help!

Good to hear. Nothing with Android is ever truly messed up if you can get to fastboot mode. Oh and I'm not sure if you have done so or not but if you donate a couple of bucks to the dev of the Toolkit it unlocks the kit update option. There is a much newer kit version out that adds options.
Got problem with my device. I installed a custom kernel now my device just stuck into boot screen. I have no backup so I tried to push a custom rom to my nexus 7 from my computer using cwm but it didnt mount to m computer. I also tried to use Nexus Root Toolkit to push the custom rom to the device but it also didnt work. How can I fix this??
Please Help.. My Nexus 7 is still stuck on bootloop..I used wug's Nexus Root Toolkit and flashed the factory image but still it didnt work..

try to flash other kernel...... franco kernel works very well.....
wugs toolkit should work for you....
can you put your nexus in bootloader mode? if you can don't worry your tablet is not totally bricked.....
boot your tablet en bootloader..... open wugs toolkit an select back to stock and unroot(select that the device is semibricked and tell us what happen)
I was running 4.3 stock rooted and yesterday was prompted to update to JWR66Y, thinking this would be no big deal i decided to update. later on that day i decided i was bored with stock android and went to flash cm10.2, but the update has seemed to wipe TWRP off my nexus 7 and has also broken root..
does anybody know how to fix this??? the internet has provided no answer and i would very much like to enjoy the freedom of having a rooted nexus..
thanks to anyody that can help! :fingers-crossed:
If you had searched well you knew that booting a stock ROM after sn update almost always replaces the custom recovery by stock recovery. The easiest way to reflash your custom recovery is using fastboot, I.e.
fastboot flash recovery <recovery.img>
while you are in fastboot mode.

This did not work for me unfortunately. I tried to fastboot flash both latest TWRP and CWM. Neither one sticks and it's pissing me off.
So I have my nexus 10 rooted, with no custom ROM on it. I got the prompt that there was a system update, clicked it and it reboots into recovery like it's going to install it, and says verification failed.
I've tried manually downloading it and flashing it through recovery like it was a custom ROM and still get the same error.
How can I update my tablet with 4.3 and stay completely stock? Is there a ROM to flash or something? Thanks!
I am having the same issue and would love a solution.
I have TWRP as recovery, and the update attempted is JWR66Y from JWR66V

Same here. I even tried unrooting to apply the update and then root again after. Couldn't get the thing to unroot!
Had the same problem. The update will fail if you've installed a custom recovery. Re-flash the stock recovery and the update should work.

I used the Nexus 10 Toolkit. After it's installed, run and select the option to flash the stock recovery. You can also use it to root again after the update.
Wifi model was unlocked and rooted with Franco kernel. Tried flashing stock and getting from 4.2.2 to 4.3 via toolkit and the download stopped got stuck before it took. So it was left with no OS. Tried everything I could that was simple(I'm a total noob) but could do nothing with it to get back to stock. Did factory reset and tried to go that route based on several guides it's worked for others but isn't working for me so far.
Can get to twrp using the temporary boot custom recovery in wugs toolkit. Have pushed a 4.2.2 nakasi zip into the twerp as well as USB drivers zip. They are in 'install' in twrp. The install attempts always fail. Have tried sideload with toolkit, stock recovery etc...etc... It either can't find device or times out waiting for device. Help wold much appreciated, apologizing ahead of time for being a noob who got in deeper than I should have.
Need help anybody have any ideas?

Either you are on the wrong subforum or you are confused what software you should be using. 4.2.2 was never released for Nexus 7 2013 and it is flo or deb, not nakasi, which was previous nexus 7.
As to your problem, you might have better results flashing the factory restore.
