hello all,
I really need your help.
last week I've got my nexus 10. yesterday i was trying to ROOT it.
as happened to many people before, my device is stack in the X logo screen.
i tried to use the "wipe data/factory reset" but i still got this problem.
i dont know if it have something to do with it, but when i'm tring to wipe, there are some error massages as you can see at the attached photo.
later, i tried to menually format the device in "mounts and storage" and i have done a system format. so now the nexus is stacked on the "google" screen and even dosent continue to the X screen.
please help me:crying:
tnx
You need to enter in download mode and flash the stock image through Odin (I think you can do it that way with the nexus). Another option is using the toolbox. Another option might be to try to flash through the recovery mode if you can get the file into your device.

I have a better idea. Turn off your tablet, press vol+ and vol-, then press power button. So it'll start fastboot mode, plug your device on your PC, download and extract this file on your fastboot folder (https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/mantaray-jwr66v-factory-888d124e.tgz) (they'll be inside a folder, put all the content of this folder out). Now execute the .bat (flash-all) and hope it saves you .
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for any damage caused to your device! Also this will delete ALL your data!

Why not 8? The sdk works fine here, and hell I'm on the 8.1 Preview. Disable driver signature enforcement during the initial install and you're fine. Having used Windows 8 since the Dev Preview in 2011, I will never go back to 7. I'll switch to Linux before I go back to 7. Sorry for the rant, but practically everyone has incorrect assumptions and hates 8 for no apparent reason. It irks me.
Not a problem with Windows 8 at all. In fact I prefer it better to Windows 7 (not to Linux or Mac thought). The thing is that some people has reported problems with the drivers running on Windows 8 (specially nexus 7 but who knows) leading to hard bricked devices due to errors during the flash of the bootloader. From that my recommendation to try to avoid Windows 8 to perform full flashing.

I read some Google guide about battery problems. They say to charge the tab for hour or for night, and then plug out for ten second, again to plug in push power button for 15 sec.....
Eventually I succeed turn on my nexus and to install android os. The official one From Google developers.
Now I have problem, I think with my SD card.
When I try to run Google play I get the message "Unfortunately, Google Play store has stopped.".
When I try to download something from Google chrome I get the message "no SD card."
When I try to run the cam app I get the message "No storage. No external storage available."
I can't see anything when I connect it to my pc, and can't transfer nothing to/from the tab.
Pls help me, should I have to open an other case for this issue?
Thanks a lot...

How did you install the 4.3 ROM? Following the exact instructions on the Google Developer's website?

Hi - I have had my Nexus for several months and its been great, using nightlies from CM and nothing too exotic.
Anyway - the latest nightly completely messed up my phone, can't make calls etc, so I tried to flash it back to a stable release - the problems were still there.
Then I tried another CM - and I entered the CM symbol on loop - so I knew something was wrong.
So I try for the complete factory image reinstall, I wipe EVERYTHING from the phone so all I have now is a blank phone.
So I can get into bootloader - I can get into recovery - but I can't do anything as there are no files on the phone (so recovery doesn't help).
I downloaded the Google Nexus 4 Toolkit - and when I try and connect the phone via USB - it can't even locate it - the program says "Waiting for device".
I'm a bit lost here lads! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I'm not sure but similar thing happened to me with my S3, I was bricked for days, something I tried was UNrooting the device, completely wiping it clean with stock firmware and doing few other specific things for my device, maybe try flashing a stock Rom to get it alive again and once your into your device then you can flash whatever else you want, another good thing to do is always make a backup of your rom Inc efs files, but try this now you may be able to get the stock firmware from here or online, hope it helps

I had the same issue I installed the latest Samsung drivers onto the pc still had no joy and I'm sure I found a stock firmware from a site saved it to my external card n tried flashing it via recovery, it was ok after that, mine was an md5 file, try that also if it doesn't work with the drives, try using Odin, hopefully it should work, sorry I can't be more precise as my experience was with a different device, hopefully you'll get it working, gather as much information you can about unbricking, there's some videos on YouTube you may find one for your same device

If you're using the tool kit there is an option to install the drivers. That should be the first thing you do. Try a different cable or port or PC until you get the right combination and fastboot sees the device. Good luck

I ended up searching for the drivers when I downloading the SDK from Google - seemed to recognize the Fastboot set up.
Then I followed these instructions to flash stock 4.3 on.

Thanks for the advice though guys - I really appreciate it!
Ok so i just bought a new lg g2 d801.
I unlocked it succesfully, then went on to root it succesfully using ioroot.
Then I tried installing twrp using freegee and it didnt work giving me comparable results to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50501346&postcount=867
so I went on to install it manually from terminal emulator (I installed the rogers version as suggested by another user here as this is exactly my situation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50502408&postcount=869
I followed this method for the code in terminal emulator:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recoveryfilename.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
replacing "recoveryfilename" to the name of the rogers .img.
Now the phone just boots normally into the stock interface but it is all glitchy, no wifi, computer doesnt recognize it and then within about 1 minutes it boots into the lg logo with the "turning on" sound randomly and keeps doing that.
adb devices gives nothing. I cant browse the contents of it but it does seem to be interacting with the computer since it is saying "driver updating... etc."
Ahhhh not too sure what to do from here.
If anyone can guide me I will be infinitely grateful, so discouraged right now.
I just want to bring it back to stock, nothing valuable at all on it, I have had it for 4 hours.
U can do a factory reset and see how it goes. Go to settings > general> backup and reset> factory reset.

I cant access any settings.
Just says: Error
In a little black box. I can browse the menus but cant actually enter into the specific settings areas.

Thank you though, I would love more ideas!

Absolutely discouraging. I wish I could just talk with someone right about now. I am making no progress.
Phone keeps turning on all the way through til the homepage then off again. I actually cant keep it off. It turns on by itself.
adb devices is now recognizing it but it says "offline"
Ideas? Recommendations?
I really appreciate everything so far

Thanks
Ok so I have managed to succesfully reinstall the original exact videotron firmware that the phone was running just one day ago.
There is something else going on. Its still rebooting every 10 seconds, whenever there is a text input prompt the cursor goes when I press within the box but the keyboard never appears. Wifi is non functional. Imei is saying "null" now whichI find extremely worrying...
Anybody heard of this before? I would really love to understand what is happening to this seemingly incredibly fragile phone.
Im about ready to toss it in the trash.
It seems like it has a virus or something.
Every now and then during the short glimpses of functioning it undergoes, there is a small grey box that appears near the bottom that says error.
It is not recognising my sim card either.
Please somebody help me out, I am willing to pay for help at this point.
Much love,
Zach
Also, I can never close/lock the screen. If I close it, its a guaranteed reboot. Every signle time. so for the phone to work screen has to stay on. 24 hours ago it was showing absolutely no signs of any of this
Okay So I unlocked bootloader via NRT..
So after unlocking I got into recovery and earsed the data(as mentioned in the instructions)..
Now basically the tablet doesn't boot up to home.
First. Dont use toolkits. No disrespect to the dev but it is way better to do it manually.
Second which recovery did you use?
Third what exactly did you wipe?

You can re install the rom by going to https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#mantaraykot49h and picking the image you need.
Just hold the power button and the both volume buttons down at the same time to get into the fastboot mode before you run the image restore
program. I hope this helps. Good Luck
Make sure you go down to the Factory Images "mantaray" for Nexus 10.

Good advice but for a noob needs a bit more about being in command line with the adb and fastboot commands in path. I use Linux desktop. I bricked a n7 last week due to a dodgy connector socket/cable during a flash and had to type the flash-all script commands myself a few times til it worked.

Hi,
You may want to seek for the guide in the Nexus 10 Q&A regarding flashing stock again.
Can you please go a little further in details about how "bricked" it actually is? What exactly happened? There seem to be missing some important info regarding your issue.
Please be a little more descriptive and maybe I can help you .

[Q] Help stuck on "System Software not authrized by AT&T has been found on your phone
Well as the title says thats exactly what happened. It happened when I booted to recovery on Rashr recovery tools. Mistake on my part. I also know that there are similar threads, but I've already tried them out but they don't work for me. So I thought this would be the best way. The situation is well... its stuck on that error message. I tried to factory reset with ODIN but ODIN never detects my phone when I plug it in. I already tried taking the battery out and putting it back in. Then i tried Kies, but no luck there either since I can't find the serial number on the back of the phone sticker nor on the box of the phone. Does this mean my phone is dead?
Odin will work. You just need to get it to recognize your device. You have a usb driver issue. You need to install the court drivers. Kies should have done that but it can get in the way of Odin. Uninstall kies but keep the drivers and try Odin again.

Help, I downgraded from 2.3 to 2.2 for various reasons, but now when I try to upgrade again I just get the pink screen ,if I try using the option from settings/storage,it says key data couldn't be backed up , the installation will stop. Also if I boot into the system it runs fine for about a minute then locks up completely so I can't even continue to use it in 2.2 can anyone advise ?

Try to put the 2.3 dload folder to a sd card, then remove the battery, plug in a USB cable to the computer and the phone, volume up+down+power (if I remember right lol). See if it will update that way.

Hi there!
I think when you upgrade from software menu there is an option for data back-up.
Uncheck this option and the error should go away.
Also what do you mean with this: "Also if I boot into the system it runs fine for about a minute then locks up" ?
What do you mean it locks up? Touchscreen is not responsive for example?
My suggestions:
1) Do a factory reset and then check if you can upgrade
2) Try re-installing your recovery(use cwm 5.0.27 by geno for best compatibility) or even replace the whole image folder with the froyo one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146856
Your phone is not beyond repair that's for sure. Since it boots fine.

I haven't noticed an option for data backup, will check again later on. And yes when it locks up touch screen becomes unresponsive and none of the buttons respond either. Also when I try to enter recovery ,both custom and stock, it displays the kernel logo then vibrates with a black screen for a second then back to kernel logo and continues to boot.

Ok guys,I copied over the stock image folder and now it works ok, however I still can't upgrade from froyo. At least I can use it again though so thanks for your help, its much appreciated. Incidentally, there wasn't an option to back up data when upgrading, but that error has now gone, except it now just reboots instead, so I will just keep trying.

[Edit] Finally I've managed to upgrade to GB , had to put both step 1 and step 2 in the same dload folder and it worked. So cheers for the tips
You've put all steps in one folder?
