Follow the guide in my sig and you should be fine. If any of the terms confuse you, there's a guide in my sig for that as well. In the future, please search before posting.
hello sir, i successfully installed 2.3.2 in my htc hd2 t8585 phone, can i now update to 4.1 ??? if yes please anyone give step by step guide for me,thanks in advance.
Just choose your desired rom (there are a lot of them based on 4.1, even on 4.2), download it, copy to your SD Card and turn off your phone with SD Card in. Hold your power button until you see MAGLDR menu. Choose AD Recovery. Now choose install zip from sdcard. Choose your zip and choose yes. And that's all.

Not quite. He's probably going to have to flash a new CWM partition as well since the 4.1 ROM is unlikely to require the same amount of space as the 2.3 ROM. But after that, this is correct.
Oh, that's right, I totally forgot about this one. You have to reflash your recovery, but you must look into its files and edit .cfg one, I don't remember its title. You need to open it in your favourite text editor and change the system partition size. You will know what to do as soon as you open it.

I have been reading this site everyday in about a month now - and probably every guide and How to:s.. But I still don`t get it..
I have a HTC HD2 (bought in Norway). I have ROM version 3.14 .. and Radio
ver. 2.15.50..
My question is: I cant find any guide that support this OS version and I have tried downgrade it, but I still cant get the same version on my HTC as in the guides.
I have also problem to find an android that suits my phone. I really want to try android, but I dont understand how to.. and what to choose.
I m sorry for my english skills and if I have missed a thread that is explaining my problem.
Can somebody explain how to do this in an easy way for me?
Best regards Lisa

As you have the right radio version all you need to do is download any SD or RAM version of Android
See following post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881958
You need to continue from STEP B (Installing Android)

Thank you very much for answering me
I have downlaoded Android Loader v6.0 Final for HD2 and put it in the device memory. (like copy / past - the file is still unpacked)
Should I unpack this file before downloading a SD version of Android?
I have seen many screenshoots of different androids, is it possible to tell me what to choose? I just want one that works, and if possible norwegian language.
Best regards Lisa

If you want to run Windows Mobile and have Android load from within Windows Mobile (so you can reboot back into Window Mobile if needed) then first you want to download an Android Build and extract it to your storage card. *THIS* build is very stable and fast and its the one I used before switching to Android on NAND. Extract the contents of the download file to your pc and then copy the 'Android' folder to the ROOT of your storage card so you will have a folder in the top level of your storage card called 'Android'.
Then run the Android loader v6 app and follow the install instructions. When asked for the folder you want to select \Storage Card\Android (or whatever Storage Card is called in your Roms language.
After you have gone through that you will have a link in your start menu that you can click on to start Android running. It may take a few minutes longer the first time its run but after that its alot quicker. The first time you run Android though you want to shut it down, reboot into Windows Mobile and run the android link again. This is needed to make it work properly.
However if you want to install Android to NAND (internal memory) so that it boots straight into Android and gets rid of Windows Mobile altogether then just click on the guide in my sig and follow the instructions there.

4. In Toolkit Do "Task29." Then Flash MagLdr with size 190M and cache size 5M.
5. After the Flash of Magldr. Boot into MagLdr by HOLDING DOWN!!! Power Button during bootup.
6. Go to Option "5. Usb Flasher." and wait for "Wait USB...USB."
7. Once "Wait USB...USB." is confirmed. Go to the "Daf.exe" file in the COREDROID V1.6 file you downloaded before and "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR."
8. Once Finished Reboot into MagLdr AGAIN. This Time go to Option "8. AD Recovery."

Make sure you install the correct ROM for your phone.

He has the TMous version and so do I. I am currently running EU Rom on this. Its no problem for US device to run EU ron but vice versa, it is. My options for him are that if:
1. He wants best RAM free with SENSE 3.0, but glitches. Go with the PYRAMID Rom.
2. If he wants OK RAM but BEST PERFORMANCE, go with COREDROID V1.6.
Again there is no problem for US device to run EU ROM. Actually even better, cuz more free ram.

Hmmmmmm.....
Your best bet is to try a simple, basic ROM like the one in my sig.
Go for:
App2SD MAGLDR
eclipse_base_2.0.0.0.zip
eclipse_app_ext_2.0.0.0.zip
using a 225MB partition.
Read the [OP] carefully.
You might want to change your EXT2 to EXT4.
EXT2 and EXT3 are also supported, but you will get best performance when using EXT4 file system
FAT32 partition must be first and EXT partition must be second, both must be primary partitions
Instructions and tools, again, on the [OP]
You can always add extras at a later date.

Lol. when you download the file you will go into it with winrar, you should see like 4 folders. dont touch anything just move up a folder with WinRar. you will see that the file is a Zip. with the name of what you downloaded. just drag it to your SD card. and Flash.
And by the way, the first file is a Zip. the Second is one with all the Daf.exe and instructions from Sergio. After you do the Task29. And Flash Magldr with 190 Partition. You have to go into MagLdr then Option "5. USB Flasher" and wait for "USB Wait...USB" Keep in mind your Phone as to be connected to PC. Then from the Second file that you downloaded, the Tmous Coredroid 1.6 run the DAF.exe as Administrator. then proceed with copying file to SD and flashing through CWM.
You shouldnt touch the files in the Zip file, and yes it is a Zip file because I am looking at it. If you're still having trouble, redownload the file from the first link, but when given the option to "Open with:" And "Save File." Click save file and then drag to your SdCard. If you are still having trouble tell me, I will have to give Step by Step directions.
thank you all
now im on HD2Core Droid_Desire HD V1.6
again thank you all for help
Perfect, glad we could help. Now put [SOLVED] at the beginning of this thread name. Oh yeah. Keep updated on Sergio's CoreDroid V1.6. He will be Updating it to 1.7 I believe. BEST EVER you can see for yourself.

Hey, i flashed my HTC HD2 some months ago.
I used the nexus-hd2 gingerbread build but this one is already outdatet (gingerbread 2.3.3...) and i want something new
Ive decided to try out this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769026
Ive read the Steps how to proceede
1. Install HSPL 2.08 onto your device by following the directions in that thread or by watching the above video.
2. Install the newest version of MAGLDR. Unzip the file into a folder on your desktop for easy access. With the phone off Power up your device by holding the volume down button and red power button at the same time. You should see a rainbow colored screen as shown in the video above. RIGHT Click the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and "Run as Administrator". Follow the on screen instructions. When the process is finished your phone should now boot into MAGLDR with a Kernel failed to load error.
3. Download the appropriate ClockWorkMod 150MB file from HERE. Extract this file into a folder on your desktop in preparation. On the Phone select the option 5. USB Flasher using the Volume Down hardkey and press the Green Send button to confirm. Connect the phone to your PC with USB cable and wait until it says USB connected. Go to your ClockWorkMod folder and RIGHT CLICK on the DAF.exe file and "Run as Administrator". Follow the on screen instructions. **If you want the newest version of CWM before flashing the above file, CLICK HERE and follow the instructions.
4. You now have all the tools to install HyperDroid on your device. Insert your SD card into a card reader and connect to your PC. Copy the MAGLDR version zip of the ROM to the root of the card. DO NOT USE MAGLDR USB MASS STORAGE TO TRANSFER ROM FILES IT CAN CORRUPT THEM. Place the SD card back into your phone and press and HOLD the power button until the MAGLDR menu appears again. Select option 9. AD Recovery. Select the option "install zip from sdcard" with the volume up/down keys and confirm with green send button. Choose the ROM file and press the Green button. Scroll down to YES and press the Green button. Wait. You have successfully installed the awesomeness that is HyperDroid onto your Device.
5. For future use when upgrading versions. ClockWorkMod's NANDROID BACKUP IS YOUR FRIEND PLEASE USE IT BEFORE FLASHING ANYTHING NEW TO YOUR DEVICE. The "wipe data/factory reset" option in ClockWorkMod will completely reset or (Full Wipe) your device. You still need to go to the "advanced" option and "Wipe Dalvik Cache" as well. If you are trying to keep your data just choose the two options "wipe cache partition" from the main menu and "wipe dalvik cache" option from the advanced menu, then install the new version with "install zip from sd card".

So: do i have to flash first back to the stock rom? If yes, would you be so kind to give me a link?
i really searched but didnt rly found something.
I have a 512 EU HTC HD2 (and the Problem is, im not sure which rom i should use because i bought the cell phone directly, not from a provider, so which provider should i choose?) (im confused because the roms allways have a name like ...E-Plus, O² so im not sure which to use.
1. HSPL 2.08 is already installed.
2. Magladr 1.33 is also already installed
3. Is mostly clear (when i installed the rom i currently use, no cwm was required)
4. Does that mean, that i must have a card reader? because i have no one So can i not install the rom?
The instruction to copy the magldr build zip to the root.. is the root the "highest" folder/layer like in a tree?(i think so?)
But before i do this. Have i to format the SD card fist? if yes, which format?
5. have i to use this backup utility or is it "just" recommended
Thanks in advance,

you don't need to get a stock rom as you already have hspl2.08 and magldr 1.13,i'd suggest downloadin xda apk, then you can download a rom,it'll save to ur sd card(as u dnt have a reader),get recovery 5.0.2.6,then u should be good to go without any probs
Hey. thnaks for your awsner but what ist this xda apk and what recovery?
regards helgon
edit: i just watched a howo install cwm video and in this the guy booted into magldr, selected usb connection and then copied the rom files to the root. is this right? why do i need then a card reader?
edit2: and in the video the guy just copied the "boot" folder from the rom (contains initrd.zip and zImage). why just this folder. do you have maybe a link to a video wheres explained how to install cwm (maybe also the rom then).
EDIT 3 : Haha.. yes edit3
ive got the idea that my laptop has n card reader and i have and micro sd to sd adapter.. what a coicidence
so. my single last question is: do i have to format my sd card first? (and if yes, what format). do i have to copy all files from the HyperDroid-CM7-Killer-Koala-v5.5.2-magldr-signed.zip or the whole zip file?
regards
So, to rephrase the edits:
My last questions are:
- Do I have to format my SD Card(if yes - which format?) before i install the CWM and then the new ROM (is it recommended?)
- I want to use this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769026 HyperDroid-CM7-Killer-Koala-v5.5.2-magldr-signed.zip. Do I need to copy the whole zip file or just the exported files to the root?
Regards
push thread
formatting sd is recommended but not necessary.just in ad recovery 'wipe data factory reset'
you must put the rom.zip to sd ,dont extract it. you can put it using your usb connection.
your present cwr partition goes well with hyperdroid too. but flashing a new cwr each time is recommended strongly.
worked perfect, thank you guys <3 *nohomo*
Dear all,
I've just bought a HD2 from my friend. This phone is using windows mobile..i'm a newbie here and need your help to transform my device from windows mobile to android 2.3(Gingerbread). Kindly please let me know step by step process so that i can follow it thoroughly. I'm from Malaysia and cannot download from multiupload.. please upload using rapidshare or mediafire if there is any file i need to download.. Thank You Very Much..
If you don't have Hard SPL installed and the right Radio ROM, then you won't be able to flash stuff. You need HSPL2.08 to run Android / WP7 / MAGLDR:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
The next thing you need is a Radio ROM that supports 512 MB RAM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
READ THOSE THRADS CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS!
The first thing you have to do is go to this thread and download the HD2 Nand Toolkit from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
1. Then you'll need to turn off your HD2 and while pressing the volume donw key you need to press the power button in order to get to a three color screen (the bootloader).
2. Connect your HD2 to your PC and wait until you see USB at the end of your screen.
3. Start the Toolkit and press Task29. This will erase Windows Mobile.
4. Again go into bootloader (three color screen) and press install Magldr from Toolkit.
5. After that installation you need to hold down the power button while your HD2 is booting and you'll have the Magldr menu.
6. Choose point 4 "USB Flasher" and connect your phone to your PC.
7. Choose the right partition size for your NAND ROM on the left hand side from the Toolkit and your partition size (infos are available at the ROM thread of your choise).
8. By using a card reader or point 4 of Magldr menu ("USB storage") copy your ROM update .zip file to the root of your formated fat32 SD card.
9. Press update and let it work. Wait until your HD2 booted up again, chose menue point 8 "Ad Recovery" and this'll take you to Clockworkmod.
10. Choose "install update .zip" from that and then "choose zip"
11. Go to your rom file and let it work. After that you should be able to use Androind on NAND.
The post above mine is a very good post. But to be honest all you really need to do is to download the HD2 NAND Toolkit, the .zip file for the ROM of your choice, a radio version that is 2.08.50.?? or higher (this is only if you have EU HD2, T-Mobile HD2's don't need different radio), the Windows Mobile drivers that come with the Active Sync or Windows Mobile Device Center software from Microsoft, and if you want to use clk instead of MAGLDR you will need the Google Android drivers. For way more details on all of this click on the guide linked in my signature.
Also the you can use the HD2 NAND Toolkit to flash anything you need to use Android on your HD2.
hi..newbee here..
I make the change of my windws phone to android last year and it works fine but it lose the "look"of the htc like the clasic home page clock widget and weather feature, like sence, is there a fix for this or i will need another android program??
thnx!
Hopefully I understod you correctly
So you want "stock" HTC Android home screen? On which version are you? Sense version I mean? It's quite simple. On yyour home screen you'll only have to chose "+" in the left bottom. From there you're able to choose HTC widgets like the "stock" clock. Simply press on add a wigdet and choose your HTC clock.

Sounds like you are probably using a CM ROM, a ROM based off CM, or a ASOP ROM. These ROMs do not have HTC Sense. If you want the the same feel of the HTC Sense that was on the Windows Mobile ROMs then you will have to pick out a ROM that has HTC Sense in it, or what is referred to as Sense.
Hi, I've been having some trubles to find the way to first, update MaGLDR to 1.13, then install ClockworkMod Recovery and finally MIUI ROM. First I googled how to update MaGLDR to 1.13, but I couldn't follow the directions I found on the original thread, I didn't had ActiveSync. So I'm writing this thead so if someone has the same problems as I had, I hope this can help someone. And if you want to install any other ROM, this may be usefull too. I find the ROM installation from Recovery easier and faster then installing it by RUU, but, that's my opinion.
I want to make clear that all the files on this post are not my work, I just uploaded again, so you can find anything you need on this same post. I'll upload the MIUI ROM for HD2 too, I just want to add, that I rather this ROM for HD2 beacause it is very light and fast, but that's just my opinion too.
Before we begin, make sure your HD2 battery is at least 50% charge. So, let's begin.
Updating MaGLDR to 1.13 version
Downloads
MaGLDR v1.13
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1553616&stc=1&d=1355196631
As I mentioned it, my problem was to stablish an ActiveSync connection with the PC, so to solve that I've conected my HD2 on boot mode.
1. Connect your HD2 on boot mode(holding volume down key + Power button).
2. Wait for Windows to install drivers
3. Decompress the content of the file above on an empty folder
4. Rigth click on the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and select Run as Administrator
5. Click the check box and click next, and repeat
6. Your phone will show a screen saying HTC with a progress bar for a little while, once it finishes it will restart, hold the power button so it shows the MaGLDR menu options, the option AD Recovery should be on the menu, and there you got, you just updated MaGLDR to 1.13 version.
Installing ClockworkMod Recovery
Before you choose which file to download here is an explanation from the original thread.
Q. I dont know which partition size to download
A. Depending on what type of roms you plan on using, you should choose the partition size based on the following.
150MB Partition - For bare roms including CyanogenMod, AOSP, and MiUI
250MB Partition - For Standard sense roms including Desire and EVo based ROMs, can also be used for some squashed HD builds
400MB Partition - For Larger roms including unsquashed Desire HD and Z roms, ROMs REQUIRE data2sd for EU HD2 with 512MB NAND

This may be a little repetitive, may be you can find some more information on other posts, but this is my first one and I just want to help because I tryed two days to figure out how to flash my HD2 and maybe this post will help someone to don't take that much time on searching. So thanks anyway

Hey thanks for this guide, it is the most easiest guide on installing ROM's on the HD2.
I have always run into problems when installing ROM , it always some error, because the MAGLDR file or some
other file is the wrong version etc
I have send days trying to find a quick and problematic free and best way to install ROM's on the HD2,
right now I am on my second HD2 and I am trying to install the latest's Miui ROM's on it,
the first HD2 stop working after I flash it the last time with ROM's and the phone keep freezing frequently, and most time I would have to remove
the battery which eventually damage one of the battery connecting pin, I send it to a repair shop and they made a mess of it
now I have it for parts.thank again.....
No problem

Maybe I missed about HD2Toolkit, but the steps I wrote, I executed them on Windows 7 and it all worked perfectly several times, and yet indeed you need either the drivers, that I downloaded throught Windows Update, or ActiveSync from the HTC webpage, or you can just google them, but I agree on the fact that Windows XP is better when flashing any device, and HD2Toolkit, if you can get your hands on it, is a very useful set of tools, depending on what you want to do
Thanks a lot Hitman1376
Glad to hear that ...

I installed this MAGLDR (it says aMAGLDR v1.13 at the top), but cannot set AD SD dir, when I go to Services->BootSettings, highlight 3. AD SD Dir and press left button (Green?) it goes straight to MAGLDR home, giveing me no option to choose folder.
Partitions on my SD card:
1. Unallocated - 8MB
2. FAT32 - 17,2GB
3. Ext4 - 1GB
4. Ext4 - 4.1GB
5. Unformatted - 7GB
If I understand right it should see 2 as /sdcard and (after flash of Android) - 3 as /system and 4 as /data?
Forgot setting FAT32 as primary... idiot...
