I thought this would be a good sticky post to show a list of all the games you have tested to work streaming through your PC.
If you launch the Steam client you can launch other games that are not on the verified list.
Borderlands 2
Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Mulitiplayer
Dishonered
Skyrim
Metro: Last Light
Dead Island
Civilization 5 (but so far I have had to use the screen to move the mouse)
Xcom: Enemy Unknown (works but cannot figure out how to use controls correctly)
Arma III (launches but looks terrible, so I didn't test thoroughly)
Farcry 3 (runs perfect!)
Monaco
The Cave
Portal 2,
F1-2012
F1 Race Stars
DeadSpace 3
Castle Crashers
Limbo
Bit-Trip Runner 2
COD:BO II
and so on...
How about a list of controller games that *DON'T* work (which is more useful to me anyway)
* Super Meat Boy
* BIT.TRIP RUNNER
* AudioSurf
* Euro Truck Simulator 2
* PixelJunk Eden: Crashes if I push the center Menu button while loading. If it makes it through, doesn't recognize the Shield controller, even when I the game with an xbox controller on.
* Sleeping Dogs: Stopped streaming on load if game options was set to 1080. Setting the game display options to 720 made it work.
* Borderlands 1: Splash screen stops streaming, upset about drivers - must click OK on PC
(Serious Sam 3 is now working for me... no idea why)
(Thanks to anyone who posts that I copy and paste to keep a single list up here)

Here are the ones i've tested which doesn't support SHIELD controller but XBox Controller does.
Super Meat Boy
BIT.TRIP RUNNER
AudioSurf (Weird error comes up when launched from SHIELD but no error from standalone PC)
Does work: Dust: An Elysian Tale
Does not work: Euro Truck Simulator 2
Broken'ish
PixelJunk Eden: Crashes if I push the center Menu button while loading. If it makes it through, doesn't recognize the Shield controller, even when I the game with an xbox controller on.
Sleeping Dogs: Stopped streaming on load if game options was set to 1080. Setting the game display options to 720 made it work. Don't know what the Xbox 'back' button is mapped to though.
Works
XCOM: Change the control options to Xbox. Everything works perfect.
Trials Evolotion: Survives the Uplay login. A tad mushy so not for speed runs.
Bejeweled 3: Only touch screen mouse works. Bit tough to control but works.
Android Games
GTA 3 & 4: Both work really well, all controls map to original ones. Go into options and change left stick and driving to analog and turn on all graphics/draw distance.
Borderlands (1): I get an error message about a driver but after clicking okay on the actual computer, the game will load (I also had to disable the splash screen because it kicks you out of streaming)

I'll add it to the list at work, there are a few games which aren't detecting the controller properly, so they'll all likely fix together.
I keep seeing "evobunny" and can't help but think of an HTC EVO-wielding playboy bunny...
Working great for me
I've tried most of the games that are listed as supported on Nvidia's website and all are working pretty well for me. As far as tech goes, i'm not even using a 'supported' router:
N600 Belkin Dualband
2x Gtx 650 ti boosts
PC has Netgear A6200 dualband wireless device it uses too
I've tried a few other things that aren't supported though, they're a pain in the ass to work with a bit but still work regardless. I can get anything running through steam that's a non-steam added app. I tried a DS emulator and unfortunately it won't recognize the controls of the Shield but I can use the touch screen to select various things with the mouse pointer. I also connected an xbox 360 remote directly to the Shield through a mini usb to usb 2.0 converter and it recognized that perfect, it mirrors whatever Shield's controls are. The greatest thing about that is you can use the Shield as a console and connect through your HDMI and play whatever with that wireless controller.
Unless your like me and already have your PC hooked up to your TV...and then all it's good for is some android games and selecting movies and such.

Yes, i wanna know too !!! ………………therefore i opened a thread here 2 weeks ago and 2 days ago someone did the same. But I won’t moan about searching and tell all what I know about.
There are a plethora of DVB-t dongles and also a lot of linux-drivers for them. Actually, Archos 101 (Froyo) enthousiasts implemented it on their Tablet. They also made an APK, LiveTV, that scans the dongle for canals. So, it is very close, “just” find the way to port the drivers to our tablet. I did some coding in the past but Android is a bridge to far for me. So I hope someone will pick it up.

I have a slingbox pro, but I'm not using it right now because I don't have cable tv. I am really hoping for an xbmc/boxee client on android some day!

also, i know on they archos he had a little help from archos and uses the dsp in the system for video acceleration.
Back in the day, my MDA was able to pick up all TV channels based on a TV tuner feed through a wonderful program: MyTinyTV.
Now, all that's left is horrible ORB. It never works and has a terrible interface. Anyone have any other options for feeding my TV tuner out into the web and then picking it up through an Android App?
And please, no one start talking about those streaming TV apps that have 40 random channels that no one's ever heard of (SPB TV for example).

tried slingbox? i use it to stream from my directv dvr 2500 miles away.
still not a fan of the android interface, as the pc interface was much better, but it gets the job done.... except you need a slingbox ($100-$200) and the app ($30)

Yeah, I'm jealous that you have it and it works great, but I'm not paying for it. I don't have anything but regular cable because there are only a few channels I watch, but I'd like to be able to get them wherever there's a cell signal.
Watch live tv in the browser
Watch live tv in the browser just go to www.mobiletv.net. All you need is flash. And its completely free.
Been looking for something like this as well. Haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I might give it a shot when I have some time.
If streaming from your home PC is an option you'd consider, you might want to check out SplashTop. Currently $5 in the Market. Has fairly great Market reviews incl from A500 owners. I'm not affiliated of course, just doing my homework on it first before I try.
Full remote desktop app and from the looks of it, it looks like if you have cable connected to your PC, say via Windows Media Center you can remote into that and stream the output to your Tab. Am hearing fairly good things about the video quality. Or of course you could also do Hulu, Netflix, etc.
Found an article about live TV on it (though this is by iPad user)
thedigitallifestyle(DOT)com/w/index.php/2011/06/03/using-splashtop-to-watch-live-or-recorded-tv-on-the-ipad/
If you decide to give it a shot, let me know what you think! Good luck...
EDIT: Clarification. The version of the app recommended by the dev for Honeycomb tablets is SplashTop HD.

Hmm interesting suggestion. I have always thought Splashtop was another VNC program until now. I tried it out and it works great for what you mentioned. Unfortunately, something with my desktop video driver causes it to freeze up after a few minutes. Same thing happens with VNC programs lately.

I have done a channel scan with droidTV.apk. Found channels, but have a very high error rate, so don't see anything.
So the source of the errors is the droidTV app we think.
Is any one working on an app for DVB ? Maybe someone can tell how to crosscompile an binary? Or maybe can tell me how to configure toolchain paths for compiling successfull????
Not exactly what your after but with a combination of dvblink connect server http://www.dvblogic.com/netpack.php and xbmc dvblink addon script http://dvblogic.com/wiki/index.php/DVBLink_Connect!_Server_clients and xbmc android http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29737360 you can watch live tv. Hd channels still need hw decoding working to play smooth(not currently working) but sd channels play fine
i'm in the same point as schlex2010, i succed to compile Hauppauge WinTV mini stick modules for Kernel 2.6.39.4+
droidTV succed to find all channels but it is imposible to get them work. just one of the channels streams but no sound

finally I did it.
All channels streaming on ICS 4.0.3 Kernel 2.6.39.4+ with 2 Hauppauge USB WinTV, MiniStick and NOVA-T-Stick.
It was done compiling modules which came with official ICS downloadable Kernel from Acer web page.
Loading modules and dvb adapter files with scripting and streaming locally with mumudvb for android.
Streaming is playable with players like MX or VPlayer.
yeeeah! I can see Live DVB-T every where.
Didn't see it mentioned, but USTV in android app store is pretty good too. Has the unheard of channels but also has a "hot" channel list that weeds them out and just shows HBO, SyFy, etc.
That said, between mobiletv.net and USTV, I'll never need cable! Mobile - which works really well on my slate PC (just tried it) has a ESPNU feed which will get me through volleyball season, as does Watch ESPN app. When one factors in all the other channels, movie channels and my netflix account, I'm set! WOO HOO!
One quick question...does anybody know what time zone mobiletv.net follows - so I'll know which movie schedule to follow (I am on EST in US)? Thanks!
I'm researching The Motoactv and I'm having problems finding information regarding the possibility to remote controlling the music player on a android phone using the Motoactv and Bluetooth. It's one feature I really want to have on a smart watch!
Edit 1: I found a piece of software named Media Remote that act's as a BT headset. I tested with my phone and tablet both are running on the latest version of vanilla root box. It got everything I need play, pause, previous track, next track, mute and a volume controller. But I don't know if it works on the Motoactv.
If someone could test this software or know of something that works it would make my day.
Edit:2 adden link to Media Remote

I don't know if it will or not, but why would you want to? It can hold and play your music all on its own lol. If there's a bt remote app on the play store, it'll most likely work, though.

Well one could use the Motoactv as music player but I'm using a wired hedset and running a cord from my ears to my wrist would look stupid and be in practical. And I got 44gb storage on my phone and only 8gb on the Motoactv I'm looking to buy now. I have collection of audio books and music I like to carry with me at all times.
As stated above in my edited first post it would make my day if someone could test out the application media remote and report back on how it works on the Motoactv maybe even post a image off how it looks.

It doesn't look stupid..I do it all the time. Mind you I'm usually wearing a sweatshirt at the time, so I can feed the cord through the sleeve up to my ear. Works awesome actually.
That being said, it would be cool to control your phone music app with the watch. I'll give it a try when I have time.
So i finally got a motoactv (finding a used one for a good price in Sweden is not easy) and can report that the app Media Remote works like a charm on said device.

I haven't had any success getting it up and running. Was there any additional setup required on the phone side?
I installed the app on my motoactv but it my phone(Samsung S3) and the motoactv(8gb) will not hold a connection:S
What i did for it to work for me was. Install the app on both the phone and the motoactv, press antenna on the phone and motoactv (to make sure BT is active on both devices) then the magnifying glass on the phone and selecting the motoactv. and it connects for me. pressing the magnifying glass on the watch and selecting my phone will only result in unable to connect or if its connected already it will disconnect. I don't know why that is but guessing it has something to do with the motoactv app already being connected from the phone to the motoactv.
oh and a side note just noticed that you can change the volume using the hardware keys on the watch when the watch is displaying the media remote app (screen have to be turned on).
So I just checked the watch now about 3 h after connecting the phone and watch (when i did my last post) and it was disconnected, pressed the magnifying glass on the watch and selected my phone and it connected and worked just fine without even touching the phone. Its strange that it didn't worked last time i tried. now if I press it again it will disconnect and then a third time it will connect again.
There is another similar to the media remote application. It's called Music Remote. I really wish test both Media Remote and Music Remote however google play is unavailable in my country. And I have no way of downloading the applications (apk's) to my phone or computer.
So I am here to beg someone to please, please, please send me the apk's for Media Remote and Music Remote for testing.
Been searching for weeks now for these two apk's on alternative websites but cant find em. I really want to control my phone and computers music features using the motoactv.
Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help.
Well I've bought the Note 12.2 to boost my productivity and to do that I need to share my PC's mouse and keyboard with it,
I thought of side sync however it turned out the tablet only work as a host for a phone screen and doesn't connect to a host computer.
Then I tried share KM which as far as I can tell never works, tried it on SIII, NoteII, NoteIII, Note 10.1 2014 and never got it to work, still putting hope in it and reading all the great reviews I decided to install it on my 12.2 only to find a message saying that beta test have ended please update the application with no updated version available any where.
Is there any way I can achieve keyboard and mouse sharing between my PC and my 12.2?
Any way to actually achieve that seamless integration between windows and the android tablet just as if it was an extra screen?
UPDATE
Thanks for every one who replied, to make what I need clearer please watch the following video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVvczhM5KxI
1- Samsung SideSync works when using a phone with a PC or a phone with a tablet, but not using a tablet with a laptop, which I need
2- ShareKM is abandoned and doesn't work any more.
3- Synergy is extremely buggy and takes more time to get it working than it actually operating as intended.
4- after digging deeper i found an app called take control lite, however it requires root access.
Thankfully towel root works brilliantly and doesn't trip Knox so i will try this app and update with the results.
UPDATE 2
Take Control Lite doesn't work with Note Pro for some reason it crashes every time you try to establish a connection.
I'm confused, are you looking to remotely control your tablet or are you looking to use it as a second display. For the latter I have used Air Display with limited success. I say limited because the resolution of the tablet being high the resulting scale of elements on screen is ridiculously small.

I did, but I assumed by 'side sync' he meant the process of side syncing, not the app SideSync. (Note the difference in names..)
I haven't given it a try at all. (As pretty obvious from the first-time launch message in the screenshot ) It's not something that is of use to me.
SideSync works differently on phones and tablet. On phones when you connect to a PC it screen mirrors or lets you control the phone with your PC's keyboard and mouse. On tablets, it acts as if the tablet were a PC. Meaning, when you SideSync a phone to a tablet the phone screen mirrors on the tablet and you can control the phone with the tablet's keyboard; including external BT keyboard and mouse if you're using them. You can't screen mirror or control a tablet with a keyboard and mouse from a PC. You can't really do anything with SideSync between a tablet and a PC.
From Samsung Apps...
The only one I know of is Synergy. It works well indeed between PCs .Between Android and PC (what you want) I never tested , it's in alpha and the tablet needs to be rooted.
I'm not sure exactly what OP is trying to accomplish, but logitech makes keyboards (e.g., k810) and mice that can pair with multiple devices and easily switch between them.

I wasn't at first either until I saw the video linked in post 3 of this thread. Skip to 1:22 in that video.
Upon looking for other similar solutions I ran across Synergy which is something I'd love to get working on my tablet.

I'm able to get the tablet to connect to synergy on my macbook but the tablet doesnt respond to any inputs from keyboard or mouse when i mouse over to it.
You guys can try this. It's from Rsupport who makes SideSync. I haven't used it in over a year but I used to use it to screen mirror and control my N10.1-12. It used to be a PC app but now looks browser based. It mentions something about needing to install a Samsung plug in from what I briefly read.

Thanks for every one who replied, to make what I need clearer please watch the following video:

1- Samsung SideSync works when using a phone with a PC or a phone with a tablet, but not using a tablet with a laptop, which I need
2- ShareKM is abandoned and doesn't work any more.
3- Synergy is extremely buggy and takes more time to get it working than it actually operating as intended.
4- after digging deeper i found an app called take control lite, however it requires root access.
Thankfully towel root works brilliantly and doesn't trip Knox so i will try this app and update with the results.
UPDATE
Take Control Lite doesn't work with Note Pro for some reason it crashes every time you try to establish a connection.

Well my friend I am sorry but I also didn't have any luck getting it to work, with several types of totally random bugs, for now i could only advice you not to use it
Here's Mobizen spoon fed to you.
Install this on your Windows PC (Mac users, you're on your own)...
https://www.mobizen.com/?locale=en
Install these on your tablet...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsupport.mvagent
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsupport.rsperm.aa.second
Mobizen works over Wi-Fi or USB. USB's faster and works with the Samsung driver installed by Kies.
Follow the password set-up instructions and you'll get this...
Thanks Barry. I tried this with my MacBook Pro using the chrome browser method and it works Ok in Wifi mode but disconnects repeatedly on the USB side. The windows standalone application is fantastic though and works well for me on my windows machine. Typing this right now using it.

Hi,
I want to use my nexus 9 as a mouse / keyboard for my nexus player. The onscreen keyboard is very tedious to use and I can't browse through a page in Chrome without a mouse. It would also be very handy when setting up XBMC.
I don't want to get another bluetooth keyboard/mouse, I have too many remotes and controllers already!
Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks,
Been looking myself..trying to find a server side apk for able remote for google TV just to try it.

I tried that but there is no mouse, so I can't use Chrome and the keyboard doesn't work on XBMC.
Look at DroidMote, might be useful. Is better to control with a phone but also a tablet can be good.
You can install it from web, i added the Leanback stuff.
You need root on your Nexus Player to start the server.
In the menu you have the option to start automatically the server when device boot.
With DroidMote you can control also multi touch apps and games on devices without touch screen like the Nexus Player. Or when you connect a normal Android device to the TV via hdmi cable or slim port adapter.
A small example with Chrome Browser:
https://plus.google.com/+VideomapIt/posts/XQQxXrfAD42
Update:
On ADT-1 you can use also old versions of the server
On Nexus Player you need the last version 3.5.6 or higher
I haven't tried it yet but anyone try to manually install these apps:

A little explanation to better understand the differences, I apologize if it may seem like a promotion, but the intention is just to give help:
If you want to use apps specific for AndroidTV, the directional arrows are sufficient, but a mouse and keyboard would help speed up the selection and the control in general.
If you want to use apps made for Tablet and Phone, in most cases, a mouse and a keyboard are not sufficient. This because, many apps and games not have the mouse support and because many others require multi touch gestures. (zoom in/out, rotate, swipe etc.) Also many games, not have the support for an hardware gamepad but accept only touch actions, while others support the gamepad but does not have support for the mouse, so you can't navigate the menu with a simple hardware mouse and therefore the game is unusable.
DroidMote was born 3 years ago, with the intent to make up for all these limitations with the least possible effort and to provide a viable alternative to a classic mouse and keyboard, without lag and with a very simple and accessible graphical interface.
You can read this guide and watch a few videos to better understand the potential of this application http://www.videomap.it/dmcguide.htm
You can use anything you want to control your Nexus Player, but remember that if you have some problem DroidMote can solve it.
but for miracles still i'm not equipped...
p.s.
Sorry if i require root permissions, but DroidMote emulate hardware devices at low level and this is possible only with root permissions. Construct it in another way, would make it less effective and many things would be impossible.
@zulu99,
I see. Actually, I did come across the hurdles, like the mouse not being registered as touches. So, yes, this would solve those problems. The root requirements are not a problem. I actually came across a game that would normally be mouse/d-pad usable, if you could get past a start screen that wasn't. Cool.

When the normal mouse not work you can use the TouchMouse of DroidMote for example, very useful in many Android games.
The TouchMouse need a touch profile for your server device, that you can simply download from this page http://www.videomap.it/download.htm For the Nexus Player you need the 1920x1080 orientation 0 i think, are at bottom of page. The TouchMouse is this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT6bAMUUWg0 but many games and apps support also the standard default mouse mode and multi touch gestures with two fingers. The video is old, now DroidMote is more aesthetically pleasing and improved in every part. But remember that the interface must remain very simple and easy to use even when you are a lying in bed.
You can play also Windows games on your Nexus Player if you want, with DroidMote + Splashtop 2 ( Watch the latest video in the quick start guide ) if also Splashtop support x86 Android devices.
This is beyond frustrating
Droid mote doesnt even work.
From what I can tell, there is absolutely no way to get TOUCH input onto the nexus player. At least not on the latest update.
Droid mote connects and works fine, but a mouse click still wont click on anything in the lean back menu. Its the same as using a regular mouse... you can use it, but when you right click it WILL NOT register as a touch input.
There has got to be a way to enable the mouse to work as a touch input...... there just has to be.... its an option in some menus on android, but not the damn nexus player!
Everyday there are more and more Chinese gadgets in the market, but not all the products are able to stand out. However it is incredible how those devices can imitate the features from the known brands.

I would like to talk about the TV-Box iPPLi ip.i9, device which has the SoC Rockchip Rk3288 Quad core Cortes-A17 @ 1.8Ghz, being the first android TV device in the market with this chip.
By default the firmware doesn’t support Google Play, hopefully two weeks later the company developed an upgrade with some improves and including Google Play.
Specifications
As we can see in the pictures, the device has a cylindrical shape, which allow the camera to have a better view.
The box includes the remote control however I prefer to use a wireless keyboard with mouse through the USB port and it works perfectly.
Another advantage of the Android operating system is the easy control and manage of the device, it is like another android phone but with the limitations of the tablets without SIMs.
At the moment I am using it as a video player (multimedia contents in my NAS) with Kodi (the new version of XBMC) or video streaming with youtube, Netflix, ipla, etc.
Thanks to the rockchip processor it is really simple to root it, there are different tools which allow you to do that: iroot and/or root_genius.
The CONS points, but don’t forget his low price:
- Microphone doesn’t work or it doesn’t have it.
- Ethernet port doesn’t work or it is not enable.
- Updates from RockChip or iPPLi
The POSITIVE points of this great TV-Box
- The RK3288 chip, which is one of the best chips now in the market for this kind of device http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockchip http://www.cnx-software.com/2014/02/27/rockchip-rk3288-specifications-released/
- It is fast
- 100% compatibility with the rest of devices, smartTV, NAS, other mobiles and tablets
- High Definition in the TV, thanks to the HDMI port
- Possibility to modify the OS, a minimum of knowledge is required
- Additional capacity through the TF card slot or through the USB port
- Support from iPPLi (http://www.ippli.com/contacte.asp)
- High benchmark from AnTuTu 37881
- Google play supported, not all TV-Box in the market have this support
- Remote control: iRDa remote control, free rockchip android application, kodi remote controller, or my favorite wireless keyboard (USB port)
Quick upgrade guide
1.Download and extract the firmware image and upgrade tool (FactoryTool, Windows OS)
2.Start the upgrade tool (FactoryTool.exe), change language to English (globe icon)
3.Still in (FactoryTool.exe) load the firmware image file by clicking the Firmware button
4.Plug the AC power adapter to ip.i9
5.Connect the upgrade USB cable (with full USB plugs on both ends) to ip.i9 ONLY!
6.Press and hold the Recovery button (located under the USB OTG port) using a paper clip
7.Connect the upgrade USB cable to PC while still holding the Recovery button, device will now boot into recovery mode
8.Release the button and if you do not have USB drivers installed you will get prompted to install, point to FactoryTool_v1.31/Driver
9.Once the drivers are successfully installed, on the upgrade tool press the RUN button to start flashing the image file
10.Once the upgrade is done the device will boot to finish the upgrade process, disconnect the ip.i9 from PC.
Mine was all time connect to the TV, show I could see the process and when the gadget was booting.
I have re-signed up a new account, so now I have the limitation for the numbers of links, sorry for that.
Hey great post!
An interesting review, many times people just look at the good points I find good that you highlighted the CONS, and I guess maybe you got a defective unit? because eth not working or camera without mic... sounds a bit strange.
Well, thanks and good luck with it
hello friends. I some time ago but just the ippli I gave use. update it to the ROM that includes the store to google and because of that I have problems. the device never completely shut down. does not save. before updating this did not happen to me. Someone has the stock ROM ?? the original that has no store. thanks in advance. regards
Thank you!
I finally made it! Had to work on this about 3 hours, but the secret was pressing the resetbutton really hard. Was too soft in the start.
Though I have a problem getting Netflix to run. Really annoying. Anyone else got that problem? I can install the app, but the movies doesnt play, just buffering all the time... Popcorn time works, though...
