Android 4.3 update never finish - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there!
I started the update at 7AM, now it is almost 11AM and my android is still in the screen of "Installing system updates...".
It's like it's installing, because the loading bar get to 100%, the screen comes black, and then the loading bar appears again and all the process repeats.
But I'm not sure if it's normal to wait so many hours...
I have a Nexus 4 non-rooted, witouth nothing special, just like it comes from factory.
Do anyone else with the same problem? Do I reboot or I'll lost everything? :S

G1 Frozen at boot on install of CM6!

I know I might have to pull the battery....I downloaded ROM manager in the hopes that it would be an easier way than spending a couple hours upgrading to CM 6 from my older version of CM (I don't recall which version it was).
DLed CM6 via ROM Manager as well as the google apps. It asked to reboot to complete install, I chose not to wipe data, and currently it's stuck on a screen showing the date as Sept 2 2008 and with stripes of red, green, blue, and white going across the screen. Display is not changing, nor does it seem do be responding to key presses.
Advice please? Anyone else gone through this?
[EDIT]
Pulled the battery, it was stuck in a boot loop. I started walking to the T-Mobile store to get a Samsung Galaxy. After a while in the store, I heard a text message notification from my phone. The boot loop had damn near killed the battery, but it booted. Now going to try it the right way by following the Froyo update guide that I was in too much of a hurry to see earlier.
Still want a Galaxy though

[Q] Bugged out on update

Last night my A500 had an OTA update. My A500 wasn't rooted or had any mods running, and now whenever I try to unlock it, it has a tap saying 'Android system' and a notice in the middle of the screen that the device is shutting down. However, the device has not shut down after a good 15 mins.
That was a while ago.
The tab shut down after bugging out and letting me go to my home screen, and now when I try to turn it on, the android text that normally comes up while booting up shows, but it won't go past this screen.
Any way I can fix this?
It eventually booted up, and upon unlocking, the same Android System screen was up with the same shutting down notification.

[Q] Update 2.3.5 & sense 3

I have recently been notified that this updates are available for my Desire HD.
When trying install, the phone shuts down and reboots, then nothing.
A screen appears showing a yellow triangle and a blue (not green) android man. Then nothing.(and I have left it for over 4 hours!!) The whole unit is then 'frozen'. The only way to do anything is to remove the battery. After re-booting, no updates have been done.
I have tried this 4 times, each time the same
Any thoughts/advice please

Are you running a custom rom or are rooted?

Unknown to me (!!!) my son had rooted the phone. I know understand that this is the problem and it would need another custom rom to update it.
Many thanks for taking the time & trouble to respond
Not a prob glad you found the issue.

Nexus 10, system frozen in the morning

This happens every once in a while... after leaving my nexus 10 charging overnight.. after I unplug it first thing in the morning the system starts to misbehave.. settings menu not opening, apps don't load.. in other words system is partially frozen, until I reboot. I even tried re-flashing factory images... but the issue is still there.. is it most likely caused by some background app that I use, or could it be a hardware issue? any idea folks
Never mind folks... I managed to sell it. Ordered the latest ipad, can't wait !!
Too bad as I got the same issue
Every morning the tablet is not responding at all, have to reboot. This is on stock 4.4. Anyone else experiencing this? How to chcek after reboot what was causing the hang?

Stock 4.4.3 Update Stuck?

Hey guys,
I received the 4.4.3 update for my Nexus 4 earlier, and decided to update it. But it's been going for well over an hour now, and seems to be in a loop.
It's showing the Android robot with the rotating thing coming out of his stomach, saying "installing system update", and the progress bar is moving. But when it reaches the end, the screen flashes, and the screen appears again, and the progress bar does the same. It appears as if the progress bar moves at different speeds each time (never more than about 2/3 minutes to reach the end), but I'm not too sure. Is this normal?
My Nexus 4 is near enough completely stock, the only things that I think could effect it are that I'm running ART and the Google Experience Launcher, and have quite a lot of apps/photos etc. on it. I'm just worried because it's been cycling through this for about an hour now and that doesn't seem right.
Thanks
Hold the power button into out turns off. The update isn't working.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
That seemed to work! That was going to be my first option, but didn't know if it was safe, I guess. Thanks for the help!
